If I could go lower then 1 star... The food is ok if you hit it at the right time. Come to late in the afternoon and it tastes like its been sitting under heat lamps to long. I have been there twice, my first experience was good. I treated my family both times to the tune of 100+ dollars. The second time was where I have the problem. I included the tip with my ticket at the register. Upon returning to the table to leave my family and I were accosted by 3 servers saying "no tip, no tip!" I tried to explain to them that I included it on the ticket but since they didn't speak English they did not understand. So if you don't mind being accosted by dishonorable, rude servers begging for money they already received for service that wasn't that great, then this place is for you. Otherwise, for the mediocre food and servers trying to shame us into giving them cash, embarrassing both myself and my family, I say steer clear.

Even though the parking is terrible and had to wait for a while to be seated, but they have the best dim sum in town. The price is reasonalbe and the variety of dim sum is many.

I went here recently because of the article in Seattle Magazine and they raved about this place. So I went and experienced the worst service of my life. The waiter was rude and extremely slow! Save your money people and don't waste your time at this place.

This restaurant is among the best in the area for Dim Sum fans. There is a wide variety of choices with a friendly and helpful staff. The food is always fresh and there is never too long of a wait.

A friend of mine told me about the King Crab Speical at Top Gun Restaurant in Bellevue running for $9.99/lb. I took my family and friends, a total of 5, to Top Gun and tried out the Speical. The waiter took the live King Crab to the table and told me it is 8lb. I OK with it and asked the kitchen to prepare in 3 different dishes which I was told for $10 extra. I ordered a couple of extra side dishes from the Menu which cost around $22. At dinner, I noticed the body part of the King Crab was missing, The shell of the Crab was covered with rice with no taste of crab. Obviously, the shell was used before. After dinner, the bill added up to $144 + tax =$159. It didn't look right to me. I notice on the Bill with some extra items listed as "Kitchen Items". When I asked the waiter for explanation, he told me that were some items added into the dishes which I wasn't aware of or ordered. I had guests with me, so I just paid the bill with tips, a total of $180. I ended up having a ripped off dinner.
IF YOU GO & EAT THERE WHICH I DON'T RECOMMEND, BE CAREFUL NOT TO PAID WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD. I HEARD SOMETHING BAD ABOUT THE OWNER.

I have never took the time out to write a review however after what I witnessed today I don't think I have much choice. I have worked as a server for approximately 8 yrs. so I am very aware of how the restaurant business works. Today (Valentine's Day) I saw a young and beautiful African-American couple completely shamed by our server. Now, I don't know the couple but we did have the same server. This man took over 5 mins. to greet me, another approx 10 mins to take my order, and when I asked him a question he answered by walking away and screaming the answer. When I got my food I informed him that I would also be ordering a to-go meal, which took him about 15 mins to take AFTER I was done eating. Furthermore, he only took it because I walked up to him to remind him. Now, before I go on I want to mention that the place was not yet busy so he really has no excuse for his behavior. So, moving along, this couple was on their way out when this incompetent server stopped them and INSISTED that they tip him more! He continued by telling them that it was "against the law" not to tip a certain amount and that they couldn't leave until they tipped! I can honestly say that I have wanted to do this before but never had. Also, judging by his service (or lack there of), he didn't deserve a dime! Finally this poor couple who probably just wanted to enjoy their Valentine's day date gave this pathetic man more money. Oh, and if you're wondering how I was able to hear all this?? Well, it's because the server literally raised his voice enough for the whole restaurant to hear!

Pros: Food was not bad and the portions were generous

Cons: The service was absolutely horrid!!

Food is great. Service is bad. I went there four times for dim sum and quit going there because of bad service. First time: great food, average service. Second time: great food, bad service. Third time: great food, irritating service. Fourth time: great food, intolerable service. Ming Chinese restaurant has the same great food, but better service and cheaper price.

I finally tried Top Gun the other day and really liked the food. I live in Bellevue so it was nice not having to drive all the way out to Seattle for good dim sum. I highly recommend this place if you live on the Eastside and want to stay local.

This place is always hopping on the weekends. Better to get there when they open or you will face a long wait. Bathrooms are ....dirty..with paper towels overflowing the receptacles. Service is a bit rude too. You get that "rushed" feeling when you go here. It's "Wham, Bam, Thank you paying customer". However, the wait staff is pretty nice--the hostess needs lessons on "hospitality". The most irritating thing is, the do not show the prices on their Dim Sum checks, like you would see at some other restaurants. So, always ask! Another great place is called Chinese Seafood Restaurant in the Renton Highlands.

So far, me and my husband have been to three dimsum places (House of Hong, China Gate and Top Gun) and by far this is the best place to go to. We arrived arround 11:00 saturday. Parking is not a problem at this time. The atmosphere is okay , a typical dimsum type of atmosphere . The dimsum is awesome! You should try it . They have a wide variety of dimsum to choose from and it's warmed. My husband and I loved it! Bring your family, friends and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. The dimsum here is almost the same as what you get at hongkong dimsum restaurants. I loved this place.

I'm almost in shock to read so many negative reviews on Top Gun. My husband and I went there for the first time last Sat. and had a wonderful experience, despite the hoodish surrounding (but what do you expect?? It?s in Factoria?) and limited parking spaces. The dim sun items are better than Noble Court (we?ve been going there for over 8 years), Santosa, and etc. The food was steaming hot and not as greasy as lots of other dim sum places. I also always order a stir-fry veggie dish to go with my brunch; the CNese broccoli was delicious- green and crispy. We will definitely go back there for dim sum again. The one flip-side thing I found is the staffs are a little slow-in-the-head, and I speak Chinese, so please beware of that fact and do some homework on Chinese food before you go there?

This restaurant is hiding behind business complexes near the Factoria Mall. The Saturday morning dim sum starts at 10AM. During the weekend AND weekday a line will most likely be building up by noon. Arrive early because the teeny-tiny parking lot gets full fast. Nearby businesses have ?No Restaurant Parking? warning signs everywhere, but there is plenty of parking around the block or across the street. The winning characteristic about Top Gun is the dim sum selection. There are the traditional nomegai, shumai, shrimp noodles, beef noodles, shrimp ball, chicken feet, tripe, etc?. However, Top Gun has a few more items on the carts that include honey-walnut-prawns, fried calamari, fried noodles, congee, and a bunch of other things that I haven?t seen in other restaurants dim sum. The quality and quantity of the dim sum entrees are good (for Seattle). The environment is great for large groups that expect the typical Chinese restaurant feel: very busy service (and sometimes inattentive) and the typical Chinese restaurant comfort and cleanliness. The dim sum is best when fresh, so arrive early to beat the crowds.

After reading several bad reviews I decided to take a chance with a take out order. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got to Top Gun promptly 20 minutes later only to be told I would need to wait an additional 10 minutes. After waiting for another 30 minutes for my food it was obvious they had not started cooking my order until I got their. When I got home and opened my order instead of getting the mongolian beef and chow mein I ordered I was given two orders of chow mein. As it turned out the chow mein was not good and I hope the person that got my mongolian beef enjoyed it better than I enjoyed their chow mein. This was definitely my last experience with Top Gun!!!

this food was so horrible, i felt the need to come on here, and warn others so they dont waste their money like i did. the place was old and dirty. the fish were barely moving in their tanks, and a lobster was pinned to the floor of his tank with tongs. there was one family in there. i guess that should have been my warning. we ordered almond fried chicken, and chicken friend rice. the almond fried chicken was disgusting. never in my life have i gone out for dinner, and had only one bite of my entree. it was greasy, and had no flavor at all. the chicken was slathered in batter and fried, and the sauce was tasteless.
the service was bad, no one spoke english. dim sum is only served to three, and i will never ever go back to this place. dont waste your money.

Although it is convenient they act like they are the only game in town. Really too bad. They could do so much better if they were nice. No wonder the waiters behave the way they do poor service, poor tips,.

1. When ordering seafood, make sure you get all that you ordered. We ordered and was charged for a 2lb crab and 2lb of geoduck. The crab was missing the meatiest part - the joints under the belly! We only got the legs. The geoduck plate only had 1/4 lbs of meat on it.
2. RUDE waiters. Had to argue with a waiter in order to get 2 more finger bowls...he only brought 1 for a table of 6. He claims we should share 1 bowl because "we don't have enough room" on the table for more finger bowls. When asking another waiter for the manager's name, he didn't remember it. When she appeared later in the evening, we were able to complain and the service miraculously improved.
3. The menu choices are limited. I think if you spoke and read Chinese, you can get better menu choices.
4. Get your own plates. If they don't service your table and you need extra plates, napkins, chopsticks, go ahead and get them - I did.

In general, I don't expect quality service from any Chinese restaurant, but this time, the service was worse than average.

I thought It was free to speak out comment online, but actually, not. Someone will yell at me.
I just tried to speak out my idea. That's it.
I don't have comments for the Top Gun and O'Asian now.

Food was lack luster, missing big flavor, went early so service was no issue but never felt as though we were anything but a bother (which I don't mind, once in awhile, if the food is outstanding) and we needed to send back the teapot as it was disgusting. The place is run down, and not so clean. First time visit will be the last.

..and that's mostly due to the lack of choices we had in terms of dim sum. When I found out that Top Gun owned O'Asian (downtown Seattle), I was excited to see if we could get even more choices at this location. Sadly, there were exponentially more choices downtown, and they were far fresher. We had about 4 different choices here, and they were all so-so. Also, we ended up with a HUGE bill (of which I'm still confused about to this day), as many dishes were marked "deluxe", even though they seemed to be the smallest dishes. Not so friendly staff, and we were left to wait for a seat for quite some time. I think I'll continue to eat at O'Asian, and wait until I'm in Vancouver B.C.

Food is OK. The wait staff is atrocious. They ignore you, bring wrong order and if you point out their error, instead of apology you get contemptous looks (they do, reluctantly, adjust for undelivered order). Frankly, it appears that only Chinese customers are welcome at this restaurant.

I've had dimsum pretty much everywhere in the PNW. This place isn't the best, but it's good enough and close enough that I would go regularly to get my dimsum fix.

It is one of the better dimsum places on the eastside. My favorite over here is Ming's, though.

The service can be poor when the place is packed, like on weekends. Avoid coming here as there are not enough waitstaff to accomodate patrons. Also, avoid going late in the afternoon as the food is not as fresh. This is typical of many dimsum restaurants.

However, if you go around noon on a weekday, it's great! The food is fresh, they've got most everything, and the place isn't super-packed, so you can get the attention you deserve.

Not a bad joint. Just a bit tough to find parking on the weekends.

After reading the mixed reviews my fiance and I decided to try the food at Top Gun. The comparison I read to San Francisco Chinese food and dim sum was way off in our estimation. After being ignored by the wait staff for nearly 20 minutes, we hoped that the food would at least make up for it. We were first brought one wrong dish, which was replaced with the correct dish when we were almost finished with our meal. The food was bland and tasteless. We didn't even take the rest of the food home with us, because it was so bad. We asked for water and the waitress gave us an annoyed look and then never came back. If you are looking for bad food with unfriendly service, this is your place.

After moving up to Seattle from the Bay Area, we've been on a constant search for the same, authentic Cantonese food we had there. Top Gun is the one restaurant that sates our craving for dim sum. They do the basics correctly and in a nice atmosphere. Service is also attentive as well. While food is not quite up to SF or Vancouver, BC standards, it fits the bill when we have the cravings. Parking is a bit limited, though so get there early!

We had a group of 12 for lunch recently on a Monday, and we had a great experience at Top Gun. They don't take reservatons, but I went a little early, and we had no problem getting in. While the furnishings are not luxurious, they are above average. The revolving serving trays built into some of the tables are fun; it makes it easy to share dishes. We had a big family table in the back where we could talk. Our waiter, Kin, did a good job for us. I don't know about the food off the menu or how long it would take to get it, but the dim sum was excellent. There was a good variety, and they just kept it coming. We had fun. I would go there again, and I would plan for a group lunch there again, too.

Never been here for dim sum but would highly recommend it for some take-out. We are regulars and love it! Their mongolian beef and chow mein (Hong Kong Style) comes out perfect everytime. Try their chow fun noodles in black bean sause as well, a little on the greasy side but delicious!

I don't know what restaurant the other reviewers went to, but I visited Top Gun during a busy lunch hour on a Saturday morning, but was seated in only five minutes! The dim sum was hot and fresh and they served a wider variety than most dim sum restaurants I've visited. Service in English and menus don't really exist at any dim sum places, but the food and experience is well worth it, and it was better than most because of the speedy service. Don't believe the others, it was excellent.

I had a similar experience as the previous reviewer. Staff ranged from indifferent to rude; at times incompetant. The food was terrible. It took about 25 mintes from the time I asked for a lunch menu until I was "allowed" to order. The food I ordered off the menu was awful.

Usually when a Chinese restaurant is busy and has lots of Chinese customers, that's a pretty good sign. I don't know what's up with this place, but I'll never be back.

Nothing like a relaxed sunday lunch at a good dim sum place. However, today's lunch at Top Gun Seafood was a nightmare. Out of six dim sums we ordered, four were almost cold, one was ruined. Watresses were in general rude. My wife wanted to order a soup. It took them quite some time to bring the menu. She made her decision then realized the waitress was gone again. She came back when my wife has a mouth full of food and stood there with her eyes rolling while my wife hastily swallowed the food in her mouth. Then, as the last insult, they brought the soup about 25 minutes later when we are all ready to leave. Their hot and sour soup was the worst one I've ever tried.

Worst dim sum I have tried in this area. Amazingly bad service. I wouldn't set my foot there again.
