I'm a sucker for a good view and Salty's view is about as good as it gets when you live in and love Seattle. Its the quintessential Seattle spot for romantic dinners, and they really have the whole scene down to a science. Their seafood is good, there's nothing risky or scary about their menu, and they have a few good options for non-fish eaters too. It's spendy, but you're definitely not paying for the food, you're paying for the experience.

We have eaten many time at Salty's Seafood Grills. Everything is great about this restaurant. Their food, prices and atmosphere. We enjoy their seafood specials when we go.

It was my anniversary and my boyfriend took me to Salty's for the first time. Our table was ready for us with balloons attached. The view was amazing! The food was excellent and the service was great.

I love going to Salty's. The view is amazing over the water looking at Seattle. The food is outstanding. I love the mussles, pretty much any seafood is fantastic. The atmosphere is very nice, I didn't feel like I needed to be dressed up, but the surroundings make you feel like you're at a fancy restaurant.

This could be a wonderful spot if they could cure their staffing problems and kitchen problems. We went on a Tuesday nite and there was no line but still took 20 minutes to seat us and then when our food came it was cold..no I don't mean warm I mean cold.
Scenery is wonderful but this place as little else going for it.

Highly recommend the Sunday brunch. Be sure to get reservations or you will wait for at least an hour. Check out the brown sugar salmon and breakfast drinks.

went to saltys for a casual dinner on a hot sunny day, view was great but other than that nothing else was, limited menu, terrible service (took 15 mins to have a seat while they were slow and 30 mins for a glass of water and a hi from our waiter) we did not order after this, we went across the water to Anthony's on pier 66 where I WOULD STRONGLY STRONGLY RECCOMMEND OVER SALTYS ANY DAY

Find this place best seafood in all United States vs Japan even. Tuna and Sea Bass. The two are best ever. "Ira Todd Klein"

This was a first time experience for me, so naturally people would think it was okay, but it wasn't. The waitress as she didn't recognize us, but I made her aware of this! Even though the food was prepared well and it was delicious!

This is the place to come when you need to remember why you love Seattle (the view of the Skyline is that inconic skyline view) or when you have out of towners that you want to impress with a great view. The service is practiced and professional, I have brought guests here a handful of times and always had really professional, if maybe dry, service. The food is good, not exciting, but consistent. Always they do a good job.

I had lunch at Saltys Seafood last week and it was great. The salmon was very moist and flavorful. I'd recommend it. They put bacon in with spinach that gave it a nice combination of flavors.

Service was very good. The gal explained the different preperations of salmon so that I could make a decision that was right for my tastes.

Overall: Good Job Saltys.

BIG MISTAKE! If I could rate Saltys on Alki a minus 99 I would. We arrived early for our Thanksgiving buffet reservation to ensure we would be seated on time. A couple barged-in ahead of us and asked the hostess if they could be seated even though they didnt have a reservation. The hostess replied with a smile, Sure! They were seated right away and were going through the buffet line while we were still waiting in the extremely cold, cramped, and disorganized waiting area for 45 min past our reserved time. Finally, we were shown to our table, but had to wait another 20 min before our server acknowledged our existence and gave permission enter the buffet area. I searched for the advertised Snow Crab and finally asked a staff person where it was. She replied, I guess we dont have any and walked away. Disappointed, I placed some stuffing (with lord-knows-what in it) and cold mashed potatoes on one of the few clean plates I could find, and tried to obtain some turkey at the carving station. I asked the attendant for a piece of turkey breast and pointed to the sad-looking piece of carrion that once was a turkey (I think). Instead of carving a slice of meat from the bird, the attendant sliced a rubbery piece of turkey product from a loaf and put it on my plate. When I nicely stated that I also would like a piece of breast meat carved from the bird itself, the surly attendant replied Its all the sameits breast! and turned his attention to the next person in line. When I asked for prime rib, the attendant used his FINGERS to pick up a scrap of pre-cut, gristle-laden meat and placed it on my plate as if it were a sacred offering. When I asked for a piece carved from the rib itself, the attendant REFUSED and said thats all Im going to give you. I did my best to choke down the turkey product in between spitting pieces of gristle into my napkin. I tried the stuffing, only to find a large piece of bone and other foreign objects therein. The prime rib was, of course, full of gristle and inedible. I gave up on eating any kind of meat, potatoes, or stuffing, and decided to try the deserts: the red velvet cake was hard as a rock, mostly icing, and tasted like something airlines served years ago (it tasted like it was several years old, too); the home baked cookies left me wanting the ones I buy at CostcoYUCK!; I couldnt taste any pumpkin in the sour, supposedly pumpkin cheesecake; the pumpkin pie tasted like a Sara Lee reject; the strawberries looked like they were grown at the North Pole (i.e., far from ripe); the macaroons were globs of lard and coconut; the snickerdoodle was hard, cold, and tasteless. All in all, this honestly was the worst meal I have had in yearsanywhere. I wouldnt wish a meal like this on anyone! We served far better meals at the homeless shelter where I volunteered years ago. Saltys: clean up your act! (I left hungry and stopped at Arbys on the way home. Their roast beef was far better than Saltys horrible prime rib!)

Absolutely the biggest Thanksgiving mistake of my life.
I had never been to Saltys before, somehow the review on urbanspoon looked good.
I like buffets, havent really met one i didnt like before until now, so I took my girlfriend to Saltys to be the Thanksgiving hero, and They made me a Turkey alright!
I had reservations 3 days in advance, when I got there on time, I was told they were running 15-20 minutes behind, so I waited,,,, 1 hour later we were seated.
to make a long story short Il get tot the point, there was no turkey when I arrived at 7pm, there was a carcus so I got prime rib instead, when I sat down I went for the mash poatoes and stuffing first and on my first bite I pulled a rogue hair out from between my lips, now suddenly Im not looking at the meal the same, it was all down hill from there folks!
Please remember this is Thanksgiving and the most anticipated Meal of the entire year, all day I had been saving myself for what I thought was going to be the greatest meal ever, I mean I could have chose a less expensive place but I figured hey, you get what you pay for right? Ha!
After deciding not to let the hair or the wait or the poor service ruin my Thanksgiving I worked up my appetite back and went for a new plate,
Well, the prime rib was tough, overcooked and absolutely flavorless.
The macaroni and cheese had no cheese, it was like the stuff left over in the drain after washing the dishes in your sink.
So I continued to try one thing after the other hoping to find something that could help my experience, absolutely everything was terrible and bland.
I was actually angry that they were such low quality all around and felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, at the 'carving station' I heard the staff bickering to eachother and one of them actually looked at me and tried to get me involved...
Very unprofessional and immature and uncomfortable, my server had no clue how to serve and the manager of the resturaunt made a snide rude personal remark to me in front of my girlfriend.
I have worked in fine dining for years and I have never seen chaos at this level. Many of the employees were better suited for Western State mental hospital.
Knucklheads!!
Expected good things and if I knew then what I know now, I would have gone somewhere else, hell, the union gospel mission would have been a major improvement!!!!!!!!!

Some time back the President of my company came into town from the Bay Area. I picked him up at the airport and we headed for Saltys for a dinner meeting. Upon arrival we parked with the valet. After dinner we went out to retrieve my car from the valet. We could see my vehicle from the front stairs of the restaurant where valet went to retrieve it. When the valet came running back we thought he had accidently grabbed the wrong keys. He said something to the effect someone broke into your car and smashed the window out. We rushed over to the car as my companies President had both is briefcase and luggage in the back. It was obvious the individuals who broke in were targeting their prize and must of known the parking lot well. Even with the valet staff within earshot and a clear view of the car denied seeing anything. We contacted the police and all they were willing to do was take a statement over the phone. Because this was the beginning of a week long business planning session our Presidents laptop, in his briefcase contained several weeks preparation material as well as our companies IP. The following day I went back to Saltys and spoke to the manager. We were informed they would look at the surveillance, which turned out not to have any video of anyone on there breaking into the car. This seemed very odd to us with the car being so close to the front of the restaurant. In the end with numerous calls to the Police and Restaurant we never recovered the briefcase, costing our company a significant amount of money. Needless to say, when our company host functions in Seattle we are no longer allowed to use Saltys as a place to meet.

I went to Saltys for my birthday lunch with my mom, a friend and her 19 month old son and my 18 month old son. The boys were both very good. They were very quiet and happily snacking and coloring while the adults wer enjoying their lunch. During our lunch a man came by and picked a crayon up off the floor and put it on the table grumpily and walked off. We said thank you but he did not respond. About 15 minutes later the same man walked by and started picking up some snack puffs that had fallen on the floor. We said thank you and he angrily said to us "stop the food fight". We thought he was joking because there wasn't much on the floor and the kids were being really good, but he wasn't. He quickly ordered a server to come vacuum the crumbs off the floor. I asked her who he was and she said the owner. I was left so unsettled by this. I just wanted to leave. We didn't say anything to anyone but our server, another employee and the restaurant manager all came over to apologize. The restaurant manager came over to let us know that he was happy we were there and to apologize for the owner. The owner must have been complaining about the kids. I won't go back to Saltys, it left a salty taste in my mouth. There are too many great restaurants in Seattle to be treated badly, especially by the owner.

This is my 3rd times dinning at Salty in Alki, Just because I loved the waterfont. we make a reservation for my birthday. And it is the most worse moment I ever had. And I witness the most DISCRIMINATION that I received from Jen the Manager who was pregnant. She brought me Tables are really tight for 6 people and we stuck in the between the pole, my two little boys not so happy with table. I ask Jen the manager and if there any other open table. She quick respond to me NO. I look down to the seat by the windows the are a few table were open for 6 and I asked her to switch, but she reject me and respond there were reserved, so was my. I thought 1st come 1st serve but wasn't. I sat there for 30 mins that open still open.

The wife and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary but the parking was quite full when we got there. The way the cones were set up in the lot and because of the number cars leaving the general parking area when we arrived we had no choice but to drive through the valet lot to turn around and look for street parking. To make a long story short, we were treated rudely by one of the lot attendants and decided that we would just eat some place else. The following day I sent an email to the general manager Bonnie David and guest services. It's been nearly two weeks and no reply. I must assume that they don't want my business.

UPDATED 11/15/10 in response to Pam's response below:

Pam,
I believe you have me confused with another person/complaint. I was never contacted nor spoken with anyone from your organization until 2 days ago. It was by email and 16 days after my original email. Though your organization response was slow I do appreciate finally being contacted by Jada Wood.

I have one overall suggestion: Remember that you're in the customer service business and businesses can succeed or fail based upon the customer's experience whether it's on the frontline or in the back office. Again, thanks for finally addressing my experience.

Pros: Good location

Cons: Customer services is terrible

June 11, 2010

Good food and a good view of the water. Definitely recommend for those looking for seafood in the area.

May 15, 2010

View great, food not so great, service even worse. Bathrooms were a mess (to me always and indication of overall cleanliness). As I walked by the open cooking area the cooks were throwing food at each other. Did any of that land in my food? Thank god my clients did not see that! Waiter was impatient with my German guests who do speak english but needed a little extra time to read the menu and order. I was embarrassed when the waiter rolled his eyes when one of my clients asked for a little more time. I often bring international clients to Seattle, but not to Salty's again.

Pros: view

Cons: most everything else

January 04, 2010

Having just moved to there area, I searched high and low for a great seafood spot with a view of my new city. Found the view! Lost out big time on the food and atmosphere. WAAAy less than mediocre... I've had better fish sticks.

I NEVER judge or review a restaurant on my first visit. I always give a second chance. This time.. I don't think I need to go back for clarification.

Pros: View

Cons: Everything else

October 18, 2009

FABULOUS view of Seattle across the Sound. I have ALWAYS gotten GREAT service and GREAT food, even when I brought 20 people and arranged for separate checks(not easy on the servers). Everyone in my large party of "out of towners" agreed that the food was excellent and service was GREAT. I have always gotten GREAT food, cooked exactly to order for Lunch and Dinner. Brunch is a buffet so a few things are cooler than I like, but still good. I recommend Salty's at Alki to EVERYONE that is looking for a GREAT seafood meal.

Pros: GREAT seafood for a Market price

Cons: Should make Reservations

July 18, 2009

We arrived at 3:00 for Happy Hour. We were told there wouldn't be any food for 45 minutes although Happy Hour starts at 3:00. We enjoyed the view and drinks and finally ordered an appetizer. It came cold inside, yet burned on top. The table behind us summoned the server to complain about hair in their food. The server was inept and charged us regular prices rather than Happy Hour. Yes, the view was great but not worth the $25.00 and hassle. There are hundreds of wonderful Seattle Happy Hours with great food and some with views. Don't waste your time.

Pros: Great view

Cons: Horrific food, terrible service

May 02, 2009

The only thing special about the food is how expensive it is! Even the happy hour prices are too high. You are definitely paying for only one thing here- the view of Elliott Bay and Seattle.
If you're entertaining out-of-town guests I would recommend taking them here.

Pros: Great skyline view of Seattle

Cons: Overpriced

April 24, 2009

The food here is pretty good (though eating too much seafood during their lunch buffets is an easy way to get sick). The view is also great. That said, people hype this restaurant too much. It's good, but it's not top-tier either in food or ambiance.

Pros: Great view; Decent seafood

Cons: Overrated

March 22, 2009

The view was incredible here and we had great service. I did not think that the food was very good. I ordered Alaskan King Crab legs and they were over cooked and did not seem that fresh. They were also on the small side. My husband ordered a steak cooked medium and there was absolutely no pink. The appetizers were okay but the crab cake tasted a bit like tuna. The atmosphere was nice...not too stuffy, not too casual, but the food was very mediocre. (I noticed that another reviewer commented on the smell when entering and we noticed the same thing right away. Once seated at our table we could not smell anything, but it was a turn-off.)

Pros: view & service

Cons: food quality, odd smell when entering the restaurant

March 20, 2009

The place had the best views of downtown Seattle. However the service was really bad and not just at our table. At the tables adjacent to ours as well.

Had to wait for an hour after our appetizers to get the entrees. Never asked if we wanted more to drink or even filled water. Could not find the waiter at all. When the Dessert option came he said it's on me and then he put it in the bill. This was on a weekday, not crowded at all. We were very disappointed.

Food is okay, but service really poor...Expect to be there at least 3 hours. You may get out of a swanky fine dining place faster...

Pros: View

Cons: Service - Really bad

December 16, 2008

While I haven't been to a brunch in a while, I had my fair share of brunch experiences in the past. However, none of them compared with Salty's. We went there last Sunday to celebrate a special occasion and it turned out that we picked the right place.

The service was outstanding (beginning with the greeting), the restaurant is beautiful and the view spectacular. And, the food is simply amazing! The selection is tremendous and everything is fresh and tastes delicious. The two minor complains I have are: I would have loved to see some different fresh breads and jams (I am a bread & jam person) and, secondly, I wish I had six stomachs like a cow...

Highly recommended - you will not regret it.

Pros: Best buffet, amazing view, outstanding service

Cons: Fresh breads would be a great addition to the brunch selection

October 20, 2008

As a newcomer to Seattle from NYC, I am a foodie on a mission. I like to discover the new spots, the hot spots and the unknowns. In this case I was told that I should check out Salty's for the view, the ride across the sound and the brunch. For many it is easy to create a brunch so I thought dinner first. If it is good, then Brunch. I was not disappointed on either count. I went for dinner and found my steak ("Fun Guy") to be of good quality, the caesar salad crisp and flavorful, the seafood chowder with Sherry quite good and the service (Macenzie) spot on. This lead to my interest in going to Salty's for brunch a week later (10/12/08). With the dinner having been of good quality and taste I had expectations for the brunch. Those expectations were met. Amazing spread, good quality, good service and price appropriate. I will tell you that you would not go wrong utilizing this brunch for an event or for a periodic stop for local product and quality eats. In addition, if you happen to get there on a day when Macenzie is working, you would not be disappointed by the quality of service you receive.

Pros: Location, Service, Brunch

October 03, 2008

I could write a book about how great everything was. The seafood was super fresh (i would almost think that they caught it to order) and everything was perfectly cooked (except for the raw oysters ; ). I ate the best crab legs I've ever had. The filet mignon with truffle oil was incredible as was the potato that came with it. The wine selection was also fantastic. The view was so amazing that I had trouble concentrating. The service was perfect. Professional and courteous. When the bill came, considering what we got, I was very pleased with the prices. Definitely worth every cent.

Pros: Impeccable food, service and a jaw dropping view

Cons: dont show up on a weekend without a reservation! It was very busy.

September 11, 2008

I highly recommend the Sunday brunch buffet. Lots of different items to choose from, feels like a Vegas buffet yet with much higher quality food. Dinner tends to be a little on the expensive side, so I'd stick with the Sunday buffet.

August 13, 2008

My friends and I were there on Sunday 8/10 for brunch. We haven't been there for 2 years so we were excited to eat good food with a view and no kids (our children) to bother us. We were seated promptly but our waitress was slow to greet us. In addition, she was very unfriendly when we ask to refill our coffee. We noticed she was extremely talkative to tables next to us but very short with us. The food was o.k. I am very dissapointed in the service as well as the food. I did voice my opinion in the survey and decided to voice my thoughts here too. It is time for me as well as my friends to go somewhere else especially for $38.75 per person!!!!

July 22, 2008

My wife and I as well as friends go to Salty's on Alki several times a year for the Sunday brunch. The experience is usually enjoyable and the food is excellent. This last trip this past Sunday 7/20 was not worth the $320 bill that we had.

#1 -- The downstairs dining room (South side) near the dessert table smelled like wet dog. We were seated directly next to the dessert table and for the hour and a half we were there watched 3 children continually play with the food getting their grubby little hands over everything. While it shouldn't be the responsibility of the staff to babysit these kids they were disrupting our table the majority of the meal. The kids parents were obviously too stupid or tired to exercise any supervision. While I felt for the wait staff the manager should have had the cajones to tell the parents to control their kids or they would be tossed into the Puget Sound.

#2 The majority of the food was cold. Still tasted decent but for $38 a plate kind of expect the food to be at least warm.

This is the first poor experience I've had there. I've never had a problem paying the high prices because the food and experience were worth it but this time I left the place thinking that I probably should start trying some other brunch venues.

July 07, 2008

The drinks were perfect! You could easily get smashed without knowing it.
The appetizer's were great. Try the Oyster shooters those are different but very good.
The dungenous crab was bland... I liked the appetizers better.

Pros: Great Drinks, Great Appetizers

Cons: Crab was so so - definatly not worth the price.

July 18, 2007

I've been going to Salty's for Brunch for many years. My family just loves it. My husband isn't much of a seafood fan but that doesn't stop him from enjoying it just as much as the rest of us. There are so many fresh choices, YUM! I recently decided to try them out for dinner. It was even better than brunch. Service was perfect, as usual, not snobby or corny. The view was of course amazing but the food.... Fantastic! I had these seared scallops that blew me away. So good I went back the next week because I had to have them again. Skip the coconut prawn app, because you can get those anywhere. Oh and if it's still on the specials menu, you have to try the gazpacho with Dungeness crab!! I?ll be back for more of that too!

July 18, 2007

We will not be back!!! We made reservations as recommended for Brunch last weekend. When we arrived 5 minutes early, we were told that it would be half an hour wait. So we waited, waited and waited. No offering of water or anyting in that heat!!! The staff seemed to be running around, never engaging and annoyed with everyone who was there. When we finally satt down to try and eat, the majority of the food was cold, my wife asked the server if we could heat up the food on our plates in the microwave, and he seemed put out by the request. Cold and bland food shouldn't even be nominated for the best of!!!!

The restaurant is dirty, dusty and needs some desparate attention to detail. The area where the buffet is located is covered with grease and just gross. For that much money, we'd rather battle the tourists on the waterfront in some of the newer restaurants.....

Pros: Watching teh chaos....

Cons: Having to endure the chaos...

July 17, 2007

We went to Salty's for the first time this past weekend and had a great time. The view is amazing, everything from the Columbia Tower to the Space Needle sits across the bay. The service was earnest, well-timed. The food was very good- in fact, we were expecting something standard like a McCormick and Schmick's but found some really inventive dishes that delivered. With so many great places to frequent for dinner in Seattle, we rarely return to the same place in the same season. For Salty's, we will make an exclusion!

July 16, 2007

Salty's may be known for its view and seafood but it's the friendly wait staff that have my husband and I and our friends and familes coming back time and again. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. We bring our daughters here for their birthday year after year. We entertain business clients (great way to schmooze a client). We bring friends and neighbors. If someone doesn't like seafood, they have steaks, salads, pasta (which turns into a vegetarian dish easily, just ask). It's really got everything. (If you don't see what you want be sure to ask. If you have any issues, just let a manager know!) We especially like the way they include wine suggestions on their daily fresh sheet. Very nice touch. Our daughters really love the white chocolate cake they serve free for birthdays (and balloons to boot). It's definitely THE place to take out-of-town visitors which means it can get crowded and busy during the summer, but it's worth the wait (just be sure to make reservations). There's just no better place to show off Seattle and it's incredible location on Elliott Bay with the mountains in the background. And they have the "Nordstrom" friendliness and we'll take care of everything mindset. Salty's is synonymous with Seattle! We always vote for Salty's during the Citysearch annual vote. They so deserve it!

Pros: Salty's is synonymous with Seattle!

Cons: Make reservations in advance!

July 13, 2007

Salty's on Alki is an absolute must! My friends and I were there last night on the deck and had the time of our lives! We had incredible food..don't miss the halibut oscar..YUM!!! The desserts are to die for!!!! Great drinks, great food, great service, great time! Our server, Patrick, was the best! He never missed a beat, from beginning to end... great menu suggestions and his fantastic personality, he made the night fun and fabulous!. We can't wait to go back next week for another fun time! Thanks for a great time Salty's, from a true fan!!

July 10, 2007

After reading some of the reviews on this site, we decided to check it out while in town last weekend. We should have listened to the real ones on the second page!!! The front desk was extremely rude, even though we were only 5 minutes early for our reservation, they made us wait another 20 minutes, didn't even offer for us to sit in the bar. The server was unapologetic about our wait and seemed put out that we were trying to get a view, but were stuck in the corner next to a loud server hangout... The steak was overcooked, ordered medium rare and was sent out well done, so much for Prime Beef. When the second steak came out, they simply dropped it and ran, hoping it was correct.... They seem so stuck in the 70's with some of their food, the fried fish martini was horrible, cold and left much to be desired. The chowder was a saving grace. The black pepper sauce on our salmon was way too overpowering and why blacken the best fish in the water, Yukon salmon? The spice was awful.

Pros: Chowder

Cons: Everything else....

July 02, 2007

I was invited to dinner at Salty's last week and wow have things changed! I was so impressed with the food and service I made a reservation to spend the 4th of July there as well. One of the servers told me that they hired a new chef about a year ago. What a difference! I had the salmon. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce was a perfect touch. This place is not just about the view anymore. It is about great food and the view! My vote: If you have not been there in a while, go give it a try.

Pros: Great view and food

Cons: should make a reservation

There's no place like it in Seattle! When you put this incredible view of downtown Seattle across Elliott Bay (the glass windows of the skyscrapers reflect the sunset across the water - wow!) together with fabulous Northwest seafood (hey, there are steaks too if you gotta) made with absolute class, you have to agree there's no place like it in all of Seattle! We had great service (server was very very friendly) and couldn't ask for more. The menu included recommendations for wine pairings with their special seafood dishes (halibut and salmon). Wild salmon is all the rage now. If you know anything about Seattle, you know you must have wild salmon when it's available. Now is the time in the Pacific Northwest! Nothing else like it and Salty's is the epitome of great places for wild salmon. We asked for a window table and even though everyone does we were lucky and got one (all the tables have views though since it's terraced - very nice way to share with everyone in the place!). Okay, I ramble on but really it's worth the time if you have to wait in line. The place is very popular after all! We say try it, you'll love it! We go with friends, as a couple, with groups, or go on your birthday and they'll give you FREE cake.

Pros: Fabulous view, fabulous food, fabulous waiters!

Cons: Very popular so it can mean you have to wait. But it's totally worth it!

Loved the a la carte menu. Not a fan of the buffet. But alas I don't go when the buffet is on, so it's all good !

Pros: View, Seafood

Cons: Parking

We made reservations over a month ago for 11:00 on Mother's Day. Little did we know what we were in for... Let's start off with the cattle call of people waiting for terrible food. The line was out the door when we arrived to try and check in. We were told there was already a wait and that it was to be expected, even with a reservation. The front desk staff should be given a class in being considerate!!! They were completely rude and looked confused and scared with all the people waiting. After being sat 30 minutes late, the server was just as rude as the front desk, looked like a common theme for the day!!! We had to go through the buffet numerous times just to get some food, it was either cold or empty. If you want to try and dine with the masses, for terrible food and rude service, then this is for you. If not, stay away from the trap. Overpriced and underrated, just look at their reputation and listen!!!!!! We should have!!!!!

Pros: None

Cons: Rude staff, terrible food, tourist trap

terrible service from the time you make your reservations to the time you leave.
do not go to this restaurant.
the all-you-can-eat brunch is way overpriced but unfortunately this is one of the few places that has it in seattle so it is popular and has very little competition in the area. go a-la-carte at the many other restaurants in town if view and hunger are not on your priority.
the view is what draws people to this place. have low expectations and your experience will be more tolerable.

Pros: view

Cons: service

As a frequent business traveler to Seattle, I was looking for a seafood restaurant with a view to take clients. The food was so average and the service from the hostess to wait staff was very poor, not even the view could salvage the evening. Upon returning home, I read all the reviews and have just one question. Why have the rude hostess and waiters not been fired?

Pros: View

Cons: Service, rude staff, average food for price

My husband and I decided to take our parents out for dinner. The decision to go here was last minute, for I had heard about Salty's on television. Of course I looked up this place on line to get directions, and saw that the place was rated 2-4 marks on prices, with 5 being the most epensive. I thought, "well, I am not very hungry, so I will just order fish and chips or an appitizer". I was secretly floored on the prices. An appetizer was about the same price as most dinner's elsewhere. I am not trying to sound cheap, but if you have not eaten here before expect to spend money. We made reservations about 4 hours in advance, and we arrived 20 minutes early and were seated right away. The staff was sort of snooty, and the hostess did not smile at us at all. But our waiter was more than happy to serve us, and was pleasant and attentive. We got to sit facing the view, which was spectacular at night. I would go back, but this time only with my husband. We did bring our two children with us, and although other parents also broght their kids along, It was more of a romantic evening kind of place.

Pros: wonderful seafood. The Sunday Brunch is not to be missed. They have oysters on the half shell included in their buffett.

Cons: the parking was scarce and the lot was full of puddles. Hostess could brush up on her social skills.

For a decent price, when you go to brunch, you get... such a great meal! Mountains of crab, fresh waffles, eggs, pastries, other seafood... Writing this review makes me want to go sometime soon!

On top of the great food (I think my fiance and I typically make 3 trips back to the buffet when we go!), they also are fortunate enough to have a fabulous waterfront view. One of my favorite breakfast spots.
