I've been a customer for over 30 years. They're the best. I've bought at fruit stands in eastern Washington and been very disappointed. I don't bother anymore. The owners of Yaks have a relationship with the farmers they buy from - often the name of the farm is listed on the sign above each variety of produce - I like that. They also have a relationship with the community they live and work in. I count the days between Christmas and their opening day- usually in March. Their produce is fresher, usually cheaper and less handled then any grocery store. You can keep Whole Foods and Central Market - I'll buy my produce at Yaks!

the yakima fruit market is AWESOME .
i love it in ALL the seasons.
October, and everyone in the area is there for pumpkins. (its great for pumpkins, but get there early so that they aren't picked over!
Holiday season, and its tree time, YFM is perfect for Christmas trees. Its not like other lots where the trees are dry and gross after 1 day at home, they are fresh, smell like, pine, the works.
the fruit there is always perfect, and the honey is exceptional.
also, the workers there are helpful and knowledgeable. They not only know the fruit and the store they work at well, but they are neighborhood locals. Its nice to have some familiar faces ringing up your peaches and artichokes.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the YFM.

Located right off of 522 is a produce stand that operates from spring to October. In general, their prices tend to be lower than grocery chains, and they sell local berries, apples and peaches during season, but you have to beware of fruit fly infestation. Ive bought fruit here several times only to find them infested with fruit flies within a few days, whereas produce from Uwajimaya or other grocers dont seem to have this problem. Herbs here also tend to be very pricey, so buy here selectively for only certain seasonal local items.

I enjoy stopping by the Yakima Fruit Stand. They always have beautiful produce that is grown locally. The employees are very knowledgable. Today I asked someone to help me pick out a cantalope since last time I didn't have luck picking it out on my own. I just cut it open and tasted it-DELICOUS! The fruit stand also carries a small amount of specialty products such as hispanic items, pesto, breads, jams, etc. I recommend stopping by the next time you are in Bothell.

I love this place! No wrinkly, faded stuff here, everything is fresh and at a good price too. Apples are usually half the price per pound that the grocery stores are offering. Gorgeous hanging flower baskets. Friendly and fast checkout.

They have very fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have good farm fresh eggs. The staff is helpful and the prices are good. They have things that are hard to find at a regular supermarket. It's a good place to shop.
