I have never met a group of more caring and compassionate people. They are always so wonderful to deal with. They are reasonably priced, and always take their time.

I have never had a problem. They have always been giving me great service. They have a walk in clinic. They rates are lower than most. The Doctor is always great with my pets. He could have over charged me several times and he didnt. He loves the animals and isnt doing it for the money. He has been a vet forover 30 years. I would reccomened them to anyone who lives close and wants good care at a reliable price.

I second the last comment. I normally go to the walk in clinic in Stanwood (excellent, BTW), but I decided to try this clinic one day. I should have read the reviews first. I took my dog in for a simple cough, but because she had just been spayed I had a lot of concerns. I waited a long time to be seen even after the person at the desk said it should be "just a few minutes". Had she been honest with me I would have come back later. When we were finally seen I asked a lot of questions to which the vet replied to most of them "it should be fine" or "don't worry about it". How can I not worry? They did try to sell me their food (which the last reviewer noted), but I told them I was happy with my dog's food and they left it at that. The medication I was given seemed a little overpriced, so I called my normal vet the next day just to see, and sure enough they charge $15 less for the same medication.
While I did not have anything terrible happen to me at this clinic I was very unhappy with my visit, and I think the vet and his staff could do well in retraining on their levels of customer service.

I have had several encounters with this vet clinic, and I do not recall anything positive about it. First, it is hard to get an appointment. They usually tell you "come in during our walk-in times". They fail to tell you about the frequently long wait in an often overcrowded waiting room. Second, the Vet always seems to rush. I was in there a couple of times where I had deep concerns, yet the vet did not try to explain further or comfort me. Instead I was given the attitude that I was overreacting just to get me out of there faster. Third, the medications are way overpriced. The last time I was there (my LAST visit), my dog was prescribed an antibiotic that they wanted $55 for! I asked to get a written prescription and went over to the local drugstore. They only wanted $9. I understand you pay more at the vet, but that is ridiculous. Last, they support a crap dog food and recommend it to their customers! I will not name the brand (as I do not wish to advertise for them), but it is certainly not a high quality food. When the vet told me that I should switch from my super-premium food to this crap, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He told me "it had one of the highest protein contents of any dog food". Well, after working in the pet industry for 7+ years, I know that just because there is a lot of protein, doesn't mean that it is from a source that dogs can digest. When I told this to the vet, he laughed. Apparently my dog's health is funny to him.
In summary, if you want a cheap vet that rushes customers in and out and doesn't care about the overall health of your pet, then this is a good place to come. However, if you are like most caring pet owners and want your pet to be well loved and cared for by a vet that has a love for animals that may exceed your own... DO NOT COME HERE.

I took my older dog to Family Pet Medical & Surgery twice now at the referral of a friend. They are different from most vet offices, they have walk-in appointments Mon-Thurs starting at 1pm. Mornings and Fridays they are in surgery. The office was crowded but I didn't wait very long. Dr. Smothers diagnosed the problem my dog was having within 5 minutes, gave me antibiotics to take care of it and I was out of there. I was so grateful because I had already taken her to our regular vet and they were recommending a very expensive surgery after nothing else had worked. Consequently, she was healed within a week and I will never take her anywhere else!
They are also VERY reasonably priced, they charge $25 for the appt with the doctor and the prescriptions were also cheaper than at our previous vet's office.
