The food here is excellent. The service may be a lil slow, but well worth the wait. very friendly employees and the price is just right and the servings are huge. I would highly rate this as the best chinese food i've eaten in Tacoma.
They have this chicken dish called the Special chicken, thats to die for...

I have been goingto tea leaf since I was a teen with my mom now my kids an grandchild go there..i had some of the best mongolian beef last week there that ive ever had.. no fried noodles at the bottom so that was a sad moment it had a fried rice on side that was delisious. I always try to duplicate at home but i dont think i can on this..yalkisoba was not the same tho still good, the same coulple have been working there for years. I believe they may have changed hands yrs ago but the food has always been tastey and ample amount. the waitress is genuinly sweet, who is ok with a picky 5 yr old, not into chinese food. prices have always felt affordable. soup is good an hot but need a touch of seseme like in the old days or was that the tea?

This place was over rated from what I was told. Small portions of food for the price I paid. I thought I ordered steam rice & got fried big mistake. Just don't go.

Garfield street in Parkland is gaining a reputation for its great food. The Tea Leaf is an excellent Chinese food restaurant on Garfield street near the campus of Pacific Lutheran University.. They have a nice owner that works hard to provide quality food at a reasonable price. I had a great meal and felt that I got it for a reasonable price. It is the only time I've ever gone but if I'm in the neighborhood again, I'll be sure to go back.

this is the only Chinese place we go.. We have never been disappointed there. The owner is great. The food is great. Low on the scale for atmosphere but a great place for the whole family to go.

What was worse than the hour wait to be served. Being served the wrong food, and being charged for what we didn't order was the several black corse hairs found in my food!!!! This was one of the worse dining experiences I've ever had. Not only will I never go back but I stronly recommending NOT going to this restaraunt most vehemently.

My mother and I stopped here for lunch on a day out, it was a nice little place to come have some food. We dined in and were very pleased with both the food and service, nice neighborhood restauraunt, I would go back anytime :o)

PROS: Good Food, Friendly Service
CONS: Kind of Small, (But all these place are on this strip)
