I just love this center. I've had a lot of interaction with this school over the years. I used to be a teacher 13yrs ago and now my 3yr son goes there. As a teacher, I was treated fairly with good benefits and competitive pay (compared to other centers). All the teachers had a good working relationship with the director. We always had all the tools we needed to make our job effective. The Ark is a non-profit school so all the money goes back into making the school even better.
The same goes for today. The teachers bring a wealth of knowledge and share a true love of working with children. They also plan weekly themes and offer a balance of social, emotional, creative, cognitive, and physical growth experiences. They always have age appropriate activities, weather it's art, music, science etc. and even special events like field trips to the farm, science center or kids theaters. They even offer Happy Feet, a mobile soccer clinic for children 2 - 6. My son loves this activity!!!
I have read all the reviews posted on this site and most are true. However, I would like to address a couple. The director may seem strict, but that is because she cares so much for the center and the children in it. There are rules and regulations for a reason and they are in place to protect all who are involved. And she's not rich! Again, non-profit school that has a board of directors whom determine how all monies should be spent. And Timsy... What are you talking about????

My son has been there for the 4th year. It is very good overall! low teacher/ child ratio, lovely teachers mostly luckily, and full of activities! Mon has Tumbling tots (gym activity for $20/week) starting from 1 yrs old classroom, two times storytimes, circle time every morning, art work daily, and Wed has chapel time. Preschoolers also has Genman class and cooking class weekly! Plus, a soccer program is coming! And, at least two time per day at the playground (summery probably 3 times!). Even it is rain, they set up special props to play at the fellowship hall. the neg thing is that lunch is not included, and they don't use microwave. Pack your hot lunch in thermo or eat cold. And the director is very strict, esp on some of their "weird" policy. Also, as the teacher didn't got pay a lot, they seemed had hard time in keeping new/young teachers. Poor teacher but rich director!

My kids go there for about a year now and the Ark is a great place. From the teachers being highly professional, experienced and great with kids to their very personal approach to their jobs, low ratios, great activities, just about everything. And by the way, replying to your comment, they do play outside on the playground at least twice a day (weather permitting) or taking walks with their teachers. On the top of that they regularly organize kid's field trips - to the farms, children's theaters, etc. So please, Timsy, do not spoil the reputation of a great place by your comments, especially since you have no personal experience with it whatsoever.
