24 Hour Fitness is the gym to go. I've had other gym memberships but i like 24 hour the best!! They offer a lot of different classes from Zumba to Yoga and many many more. And the best thing about them is that they are open 24 hours a day and i can just stop by any time that i want. Like a few weeks ago that i was wide awake at 5 AM and i just decided to go to the gym... Simply the best!!

This gym has everything I need.\r\n\r\nThe staff are super friendly & many even know my name.\r\n\r\nLoads of classes to choose from: zumba, power sculpt, hip hop, pilates, yoga, etc.\r\n\r\nA refreshing pool (which I'd prefer if it were a tad bit warmer especially in the winter), a hot tub, sauna (which is great now that it's finally working), and steam room.\r\n\r\nThe locker room is less than desireable. But since everything else is great, I can't complain too much. I also wish they would fix things sooner, it takes forever to get anything fixed. And they still have no shower curtains on most of the showers. They do have really big lockers which I love, since I always have lots of stuff with me.\r\n\r\nThe gym equipment is great, and I really love the ""24 Minute Workout"" station, which is my favorite, and then the cardio equipment too! \r\n

I was thinking about joining and spent a day at the gym with free 7 day pass. In the showers there were only two curtains so people in stalls have no privacy and stood there waiting for the water to get warm before taking a cold shower and I mean cold. Floors look dirty and the shower curtains and walls have mold and look unclean. Then I commented saying, wow that's cold! and one of the ladies said, ""it's always like this"". I said, ""it never gets warm?"" She said ""no"" and there were four other women standing around and they all just smiled and nodded. I was called by sales for me to become a member and I told her that I had to take a cold shower. She said, ""the hot water went out for an hour that day"". I said ""someone told me it was always like that"". Then she said ""during peak hours the water goes cold"". It was very slow that day with maybe 10% of the cardio machines filled so not peak hours, very crowded in the weight room though. I said, please tell me more about the cold showers. And then the sales girl suddenly started saying ""hello? hello?"" and hung up on me! She called a few minutes later and maintained that usually there is hot water. I just felt like she was trying to con me. I would have gotten a membership here but after that ordeal I realize it's kind of dirty. No membership for me!

I recently moved, and switched to this 24hour fitness. I prefer my old 24 hour fitness, but this one does the job. My old gym had more of a community feel - this one is much more impersonal and commercial feeling. \n\nEquipment-wise - there is lots to choose from. I don't typically visit during 'peak' hours, so I haven't had any problems with waiting for cardio or weight machines \n\nCleanliness - this branch could use improvement. The trash cans are often full to overflowing, and sometimes the sanitizer seems to be missing. I hopped on the treadmill yesterday, and there was dried sweat all over it. On the hunt for the sanitizer to clean it, I discovered the towels were out. Also, the weight area is often unruly, and I have to hunt for plates or dumbbells. I only use the locker room to stash my bag or change quickly into my swimsuit, so I can't really comment on the showers or anything. It seems fairly clean.\n\nI dig the pool. I love to swim, and I like that it doesn't close early or anything. I'm usually able to get a lane, and if not right away, one opens up pretty quickly. \n\nThe parking is not ideal, that's for sure. If I'm planning going during peak hours, I catch a bus. Late at night, it's not such a problem to find street parking. But still, having a small dedicated lot for parking would rock. \n\nI have not used the personal trainers here, or had much interaction with the desk people. My goal is to get in, do my workout, and get home again, and not spend too much time analyzing my surroundings. \n

Pros: pool, open 24/7, decent amount of equipment

Cons: parking, machine layout seems random

I have been a member of 24 hour fitness for over 3 years and have been to 6 different locations and this...by far...is the worst. The showers are filthy and the curtains are moldy. 3/4 of the showers in the ladies room do not have curtains. I have been several times and am disappointed. I'll be canceling my membership. This is probably the cheapest you'll find a fitness club for and there is a lot of equipment.

I will have to admit that I almost didn't join this club because of the other reviews out there. I decided to join anyways since I get a good discount with my job and started my membership a few weeks ago. \r\nI talked with a really nice guy named Vincent who helped me get started in the gym. He wasn't pushy at all, even when he offered the personal trainer services. I simply said 'no thanks' and it was left at that. I did not in any way feel like I was being 'sold' to, which I hate. Registration was nice and quick, I even got a tour of the facilities. \r\nSo far, I've been going to the gym a few times a week. Everytime, the people at the front desk are very polite and helpful if I have any questions. A guy named Jef helped me when I had questions on the elliptical machine and even offered me a cardio workout plan for myself, which I was really impressed with. \r\nThe locker rooms/showers are always clean when I've gone and so is the pool. I truly have no complaints with this gym, only good experiences so far. Thanks, Vincent and Jef! I hope this review gets to your manager. :)

Cons: none so far

This 24hours fitness on Yale Ave is AWFUL. Over-crowded in the evenings that my wife and I go to (Tue, Thur.). Air circulation is bad, feels like breathing in bad air while working out. Both men and women showers are horrible. In men showers, either the dispenser is gone or no soap, locker room is small and and I can see mold on the wall. We complaint to the staff several times now but nothing has been done. Their Bellevue, WA location is not like this, so I am pretty sure it's the management problem at this particular location. Try to avoid this location.

I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. I visited this gym tonight as I'm in Seattle on business. This 24 hour fitness is very nice. It's pretty big (3 floors), lots of equipment, and the mood is decent. There arent a ton of meat heads hogging the equipment, I didnt meet any pushy salespeople, and there were a minimal amount of weirdos (every gym has them). The equipment is fairly new and everything seems to be in working order. There is even a small lap pool and jacuzzi. Sure there are more elegant gyms around (Equinox), but come on...they are $300+/mo. For the price point, this is a great place.

There seems to be a lot of fuss about pushy salespeople and the meat market atmosphere. I've been going there now for about two months and have yet to experience any of this. I did a 30 min intro with a trainer when I first started, and of course he dosen't get paid unless he trains people, so naturally he asked if I wanted his services. I declined polietly and that was that. Simple and easy. Since then I go 24 hours a day (since I work from home and keep odd hours this is HUGE for me). And I enjoy it. I like watching Law and Order while working out there. The weight room has a nice variety and everything seems clean to me.\r\nI almost wonder if people who find the sales/training staff pushy are just those types of people that feel bad for saying 'no'. I didnt want personal help so I said so, no guilt, no push...that was that. If you hesitate and do the classic American ""well..ya know...um...i dont really think..."" then of course they'll try to persuade you. But that seems to me to be the fault of someone being unclear. \r\nThe locker rooms are clean, the showers have great water pressure, the music (while a little emo for my taste) is fine. Plus I have my mp3 player, and often plug the headset into the doodad attached to the machine and watch the television. They have lots of machines, cardio and otherwise. Even when it's packed I rarley wait more then 3 minutes to get on one.\r\nThis is not a state-of-the-art type of gym, but for working out I dont really see how you can go wrong.

Previously I thought this facility 4/5 stars, but that was when I first joined the gym October '07 and had a personal trainer.\r\n\r\nThen I contracted pubic lice from the locker room June 9.\r\n\r\nHere is the reply I received from the club manager, emphasis between asterisks is mine:\r\n\r\nJames, I do apologize for the experience you have had in regards to the cleanliness of our facility. When do you notice the club looking the worst? I can assure you that we do go through and disinfect the locker room area twice a day and have a hourly check for any things that need to be taken care of right way, these type of activities would not build a habitat the lice would breed. I will look into this issue today and see if we have any signs that there are lice anywhere and then let you know. *I do know that we have not had any other instances in this club of lice in over a year that I have been here.* Again, I understand where this could be a very embarrassing and frustrating situation, so I will let you know what I find out when we look deeper in the club for signs of infestation. Let me know if there is anything I can do in the mean time!!

Okay, people that rated this gym low have needs and expectations that might not be realistic for a gym of this popularity and price bracket. I go here pretty often and have zero problems with it. However, I never talk to the staff, work out in the morning when it?s not nearly as busy and don?t use a personal trainer. That is the key! If you can do those things you?ll be fine, if you need services and trainer time and all that then look elsewhere ? but you won?t be able to get what you want without spending a boatload of cash. One thing I might mention ? if you?re a guy and want to use the weight room in the afternoon you?d better be pretty confident. It?s really intimidating the shape that 95% of those guys are in, it?s really amazing. It?s literally packed with muscle dudes. The morning is MUCH better, you can actually get your stuff done and not have to adjust your routine or wait. It?s great.

Like someone else here, I did the Buy 1 Year, Get 3 Free thing. (Started in 2004.) I felt like the personal training sessions I got with it were good, but the wonderful trainer I had was scooped up by a better fitness chain not too long after I finished all of them. After he left, I ran into him on the street a few times and he dropped hints about 24 Hour Fitness' questionable business practices, and the way the trainers are treated by management. I didn't blame him for quitting. These days, I just go in and do my cardio+weight routines as quickly as possible. I don't talk to any of the people who work there because I don't want to be hassled to buy stuff. As everyone else here has said, they're all very high pressure. There are very few things in this world that I dislike more than pushy salespeople. If they try to screw me out of my $25 annual membership deal after my 4 years is up, I will definitely start going somewhere else instead.

Do not join this gym!!\r\n\r\nWhen I moved to the area I joined 24 Hour Fitness to continue my workouts. Friends had recommended it. I am fit, motivated, and not easily deterred from my workouts. I got the membership that included five private sessions with a trainer. These were an utter waste of time. They began ten minutes late and always end early. The trainer claimed to be overworked and sleep-deprived every time. He began each session with a sales pitch of the products at the front desk and closed the session with attempts to schedule more training sessions. He commented that his job was just to sell the products and the sessions. These people SELL SELL SELL. We would always do ten minutes of core training (just holding a position on my elbow and toes) because the major equipment sets were in use. I got VERY LITTLE out of these sessions. \r\n\r\nWhen I would come in at 8-9 pm the weight room would packed. You come down the stairs and with every step you feel an increase of intense damp heat. When it's packed you breathe the sweat and breath from others -- it hangs in the air. There is no ventillation. Hulking dudes leave their sweat smeared all over the benches and machines. You have to bring your own towel to wipe this up -- its better than just hopping on the bench and slipping around in Jockstrap McMacho's ooze. \r\n\r\nOnce, I was using the dumbells in the corner and noticed a huge puddle on the floor. Drips fell from the ceiling. Drip drip drip -- condensing moisture (a mix of breath and sweat) had collected on an air duct and was dripping onto the dumbells. Literally it was raining moisture from human sweat/breath.I noticed these small mucus-brown stallagtite-like deposits -- where the drip were falling from, indicating a residue build-up. This had been dripping for a long time. I STRONGLY URGE you to look elsewhere. I cancelled my membership today. I had to stay on hold for a really long time, but it was worth it.

150 words can't begin to describe my horrible experience with this club. High pressure, misleading sales, poorly trained fitness staff, a lack of concern for patron's physical health, inability to resolve customer complaints, and an atmostphere that is closer to a pick-up bar than a professional gym, this place may look cool and actually work for a few people, but it's certainly not worth $40 a month or the outrageous start-up fee.

I joined this gym about a year ago and am looking elsewhere its crowded. The staff has no clue about anything when you ask a qqq they just look at you like a deer in headlights. I had a good talk with 1 trainer who left for greener pastures. its horibal I hate it.

Tried to check this place out. I waited 20 minutes for a staff person to show me around. As I got up to leave, someone finally came over-- the guy who I watched joking around with another staff member while I waited. There's no free parking during the day.

Notice how some users only write one review and it's all about how great a place is? Hmmm, seem fishy? I was a member for almost a year through my company. We got what I thought was a good membership deal and was pestered by the staff infrequently (if you don't count the constant in-club PA system ads for supplements, clothing, etc.). The club is way over crowded and virtually impossible to use during peak hours. The staff are overly forward, pushy and inexperienced. Do yourself a big favor and go elsewhere.

The best thing about this fitness place is that they have some really good classes available here like yoga, kickboxing, aerobics, and other activities. The gym part can get really crowded, though especially it tends to be really full of people after 5 pm and on the weekends, so I don't like to go there at those times if I can help it.

The first thing I look for in a gym is a pool and this location has just that. They also offer basketball and raquetball courts. They often have discounted signup specials as well. Even though it has a corporate feel I do like this gym.

PROS: work anytime!!!

This is the second gym I've belonged to in Seattle. The membership price I pay is reasonable comparative to other gyms, however the sales staff neglected to inform me of the monthly taxes included. Also, it took 3 months to clear my automatic payments. The gym IS packed during peak weekday hours, however since I work out late at night this is not a problem. In fact, the gym being open 24/7 is the biggest perk for me. The equipment is good, however the classes during peak hours are too crowded. It does have a meat market atmoshere at times, however I just slap on the headphones when I'm not in the mood to make eye contact with the always present eye candy.

Pros: open 24/7, open 24/7, open 24/7

Cons: classes crowded, pushy sales, read the fine print!

If you plan on working out any time from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m, it's going to be a long and frustrating experience. This gym is ridiculously over sold, and they continue to have membership drives! I joined and eventually had to join a different gym because I couldn't get there at 6:30 a.m. when it was actually possible to get a work out on the weights in less than an hour and a half. Also, they say they have free parking, but the hours never worked for me so I was always looking for parking. In short, I hated it.

I don't think the people below this last post are wrong. I joined the gym w/ their ""buy one year get 3 free"" and honestly I don't regret it because i like the fact I can use my membership anywhere because I move a lot. I did not receive any ""personalized"" training from the PT when I did use my 4 included sessions. When they were used I asked what I should continue to work on and he said we'd work on that when i sign up for more. I was hassled by the PT for 3 weeks asking when I was going to sign up for more sessions. There is LOTS of pressure on the staff to sell and I don't blame my PT, I blame the horrible corporate management that doesn't care about their patrons, only their quarterly earnings. Their sales tactics and integrity are not in line.

I have read the other reviews below mine and I can't believe the things I read. I think the people that wrote those reviews are probably working for the other gyms in the area, it would only explain why they wrote the things they wrote. I can't begin to discribe how nice the gym is and how fun it is to work out there. Everyone is into getting and staying in shape and the trainers could be any nicer. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is just begining to workout and needs a good place to do it...

When I was just checking out gym they told me it was the last day of their membership special which was a lie. My trainer was motivated the first few sessions but now she spends at least 15 minutes stretching with me and often finishes early. She also tries to sell me supplements and more training sessions which I declined. It's not a bad gym but I'd recommend going with the cheapest and most basic membership package and not buying anything there.

I believe the best example of my dislike for this gym can be illustrated by the sign as you enter the Men's locker room stating that the use of Cell Phone Camera's is not permitted. Now, why would they have the need to post this sign i wonder??? Exactly...this ""gym"" has good equipment, but the people that work out there and the sorry ""trainers/salespeople"" make me wary of bending over to stack the weights as I know they are always looking to screw me whenever possible. The price seems good at first, but once in the door the ""Always Be Closing"" sales staff and worthless trainers would make me run far far away if it weren't that they already had my startup fee. Damn them....

This is by far the worst gym experience I have ever had. I would only suggest joining this club if you enjoy being CONSTANTLY hit on by the male staff. I think 24 hour fitness may have gone out of their way to hire the most ingenuine, pushy, obnoxious staff members they could find. They boldly lied straight to my face when I joined, then completely denied it. The aerobics classes and facilities are actually very good, but at peak times are impossible to get into, and are far outweighed by the negative atmosphere and meat-market mentality. If you're looking for a gym where you can wear your slinkiest spandex outfit and stand around flirting, this is it. If you're looking for a gym where you can actually work out without anyone bothering you, GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

This is by far the best 24 Hour Fitness gym that I visited. I've been to gyms in the Bay Area, Portland, Los Angeles, and others. This is the most spacious, clean, and well-maintained gym of them all. It's very peaceful and relaxing.

Pros: many classes, well-maintained, clean

Great cardio floor with lots of machines. Clean gym - someone seems always to be there vacuuming or wiping down the machines. Great eye candy - the buffest and most beautiful boys and girls workout there. Weight lifting for novices through steriod numskulls. Swimming, sauna, steam, and simmering whirlpool. Truly open 24-Hours a day!

I am addicted to this place! It's fun, has nice employees, and good music playing in the background.
