Wish this was actually an Irish pub. Really not like one at all. Mostly good for the college scene.

No masks here! The galway is what it is and I love it just the way it is! You go there get your drink on and its fun. They got good eats and cheap drinks, and one HOTT HOTT bartender/cook! Oh boy Dan!

Pros: Good times!

Cons: In the u-district

I've gone here a few times, and each time has gotten progressively worse. The food is wonderful, but the service has been lackluster to poor. We've typically gone on Fridays during happy hour right after work. On the next to last occasion we went, we had trouble getting any service even though it wasn't that busy. Just to pay our bill so we could leave, we had to corner our waitress at the bar and give her our money there. On the last occasion, we were outright ignored. Even though it wasn't notably busy, we waited 15-20 minutes with the waitress passing back and forth past our table, never once stopping to provide a menu or take orders or anything. We ended up just getting up and leaving for the Irish place across the street.

Pros: Good food, casual atmosphere

Cons: Awful, awful, awful service.

I can honestly say that the Galway Arms is by far the best pub I've visited. Their staff actually make you feel welcome, not an inconvenience like we've all become so accustomed to. A very friendly atmosphere, and the type of experience you imagine as a kid, and see on TV. A place you can some have a few pints(20 oz ones, at that), share a few stories, and talk with complete strangers like you've known each other for years. With my first visit, I already feel like I've made a handful of new friends.

I like the Galway Arms although it doesn't really feel Irish, just some Irish people work there. They do have some good groups but be prepared to wait until 11pm for the music to begin. Only drawback. Good beer selection.

The ONLY Irish pub in the city that actually feels like the genuine thing. Plus good music and the best bartender I've had in a long time... Finally, a low-key good time close to home.

On the surface Galway Arms may seem like a classy pub, but viewed up close and personal, it's more of a dark, funky watering hole of the type found in classic 50s movies. Popular with local students who enjoy pinball machines along with…
