I recently attended a luncheon in one of the ballrooms of the WAC. The table settings were immaculate, the servers were very professional and the food was excellent, not only in taste, but presentation.

Not just a gym, but an experience
by Anonymous
I grew up going to the WAC, as a few of my High School buddies were members (well their parents were!), and now I am an employee. To be fair, I will only speak of what I experienced as a guest. their facilities are gorgeous, with much of the equiptment new and updated. The basketball courts are very serious, and it is not a pickup game at the Y. The restaurants are also good, and can be charged to a club account (this is also handy if you are a kid without a large allowance!). The Security guard at the front sets the tone: This is a social club, and good behavior is expected. And with that gentility comes a material price: The dues are higher than the normal 24 hour fitness - though granted they are less than other social clubs in the area, such as the Yacht, Tennis, and SAC.

My friend just joined the WAC so I have gone with her several times to work out and eat at the sports bar. In a way, its a whole other world belonging to a club with such a longstanding reputation for its respectability. There are unspoken rules that one catches on to with more experience at the club. The gyms are great, the restaurants are fine, and the scene is a mix of old and young. All in all, I would say that the WAC, if you have the money, is an interesting social scene to be a part of.

This place is the Elite playground of the Seattle super rich. If you are lucky enough to spend any time here you realize that maybe you should keep a spare tie in your gym bag. The basketball program is great and the hardwood floors are worldclass. The tennis courts are also very nice and the staff is well mannered. Great place to network.

best french onion soup
by laurencovey
I love the WAC. The staff at Torchys are amazing and at hagartys as well! The french onion soup is the best in Seattle! I want to go everyday just to have the soup there!
The facility is clean and like I said the staff is so welcoming and gracious. The WAC has great facilities for workouts and a wide variety of courts such as basketball and raqetball...if you arent a member, you should consider joining!
