I've been to a few other studios in town and from what I've seen Samadhi takes the cake. They have several teachers to satisfy all flavors of yoga. They have great workshops and a calendar of special events including lectures, classes & satsangs. Classes are offered all day every day to accomodate everyone's schedule, and you can't go wrong with their staff who are all intuitive and talented instructors. Samadhi is also home to a fantastic massaage therapist and naturopath. And the collection of products in their store is comprehensive and offers everything from clothing to books and yoga-themed accessories.

This is a beautiful and extremely accomidating studio. Although I am a novice to yoga, I found Samadhi extremely inviting. I have a pretty significant disability and am unable to do most of the yoga positions. After emailing Samadhi and telling them about my condition, I quickly received a reply recommending the perfect class for me. When I arrived to the studio, the staff quickly jumped in to help me set up my station and then continued to help me learn positions and helpful hints that can assist me. I was nervous that I would feel shameful because of my disability but the instructors made me feel right at home. LOVE IT!

After a whirlwind tour of yoga classes in Seattle, I finally found my home at Samadhi Yoga three years ago. Hidden behind a storefront boutique, the immense, high-ceilinged main studio offers warm comfort and calm grounding the minute you enter, a true oasis on Capitol Hill. The teachers here have taught me that no matter what is happening in the chaos of my life, the studio is always a safe place to come and explore myself while reconnecting to my body. This studio incorporates a mental and spiritual focus in addition to the physical body which is why I find it a well-rounded and heart centered place that adds health and well-being to every aspect of my life! Every teacher offers a personal flare and personality to to their classes, so if you don't like one teacher go to someone else and be prepared for a totally different take! Enjoy!

I have moved to San Francisco and so miss Samadhi! Its studio is a beautiful, peaceful space and its teachers are amazing They practice a vinyasa style of yoga and incorporate chanting, meditation, breathing exercises, visualization, and yogic philosophy. I have walked into classes at Samadhi preoccupied, frustrated, angry, stressed out and walked out invigorated and peaceful. I have never felt so consistently happy as I did when I was attending regular yoga practice at Samadhi. I actually chose the location of my last apartment in part because it would be an easy walk to the studio. And I had tried to do yoga before attending classes at Samadhi and couldn't really get into it. This place deserves to have a reputation. Still haven't found a studio to rival it in San Francisco.

Want to be physically challenged? Attracted to spiritual practice but not interested in religion, per se? Like to sing but no one wants to hear you? I haven't had a teacher who was less than wonderful any of the three studios I've been to, but I find that the the challenge and variety I want in my practice is best available at Samadhi. In addition to the asanas, most teachers do a fair amount of chanting/singing, which is a great deal of fun and is strangely addictive!

Pros: great teachers, rigorous fun, singing!

Cons: sometimes crowded, or REALLY crowded
