We picked out a gas insert for our home. HTH came out and took measurements prior to the purchase. They showed up with a unit that did not fit but forced it in anyway. They then had to fab a metal skirt around the unit because of the poor fit. The entire thing looked horrible. We later developed a gas leak and when PSE came out, they said the gas pipe job was "Mickey Mouse" and inquired as to who installed it. The next year the unit exploded, but thankfully was contained due to the glass. We contacted HTH and asked that they come out to figure out what caused the explosion however they wanted us to pay for them to come out and look at it. They also failed to acquire a permit from the county for the work they performed. The pipe was not installed with sufficient hangers. A reputable service person from another company showed us a ground wire that had been removed by HTH and a crimped flue pipe that could have lead to CO poisoning. They also cut a hole in the vent screen which according to the exterminator, provided an easy way for rats to get into our crawl space.
There are only two company's that I have ever used that I would not refer to a friend and HTH is definiantly one.

When we needed new wood stoves for our home, I called around to get the best prices. Home town heating was very competitive in their pricing. We are very happy with the stoves we purchased. They look nice and provide good heat. We chose to have one installed and did the other ourselves. The installers were professional and did a good job. When we finally got around to installing the other one, six months later!, we found that we were missing a fire brick. We went in and they were very friendly and helped us out.
