Best Buy lynnwood has the worst customer service ever

by Eric W.

I got a xbox 360 elite when it first came out for a present with an extended warranty from Best buy. 13 months into owning the xbox 360 it would lockup/overheat while playing COD: Modern Warfare. After making sure to blow all the dust out of the xbox and still having the problem I had to take it in. The "resident Geek Squad expert" who is a fat tub of lard took my xbox plugged it in and did his "test". after trying to explain the problem and what was happening he basically called me a liar and refused to accept that there was a problem with the xbox overheating and locking up.While I watched him "test" my xbox which included :1: changing it from hd to standard definition2: starting it up3: waiting 15 seconds4: telling me that it didn't freeze5: refusing to try to duplicate the conditions that caused it to freeze6: calling me a liar and refusing to acknowledge my warrantyI then filed a complaint with the manager who basically shrugged me off because of her own incompetence (she admitted that she knew nothing about xbox's or computer repair in general) and her lack of ability to do a proper test.in the end I went to northgate and had it re tested with a Geek squad tech who knew something about xbox's overheating and replaced my xbox with no problems at all.if at all possible spend the extra 15 minutes to drive to northgate and avoid that lazy ass geek squad guy at lynnwood if you can. he has no right calling himself an expert at anything. I will never take my warranty items to lynnwood again because he just wasted my time with his own incompetence.

Absolutely terrible customer service

by Janelle F.

I wanted to ensure getting a Wii Guitar Hero World Tour bundle , so instead of buying it from Costco which I normally do, I bought a pre-sale and put down my deposit at Best Buy. When I went to pick it up, I was told extremely rudely that they didn't have it,no other stores had it, didn't know when it would be in,nor could they notify me if/when they came in regardless of the pre-sale receipt that I had in hand. Not only that, the supervisor that "helped" me (Cammie) could not produce the pre-sale contract slip that they use to ring you up (not that she tried to find it, only saying that she couldn't) , stating clearly on it that you have 2 weeks from the release date to pick-up your pre-sale item. All in all, I had to ask for my deposit money back (wasn't offered) and have told everyone I know looking to buy Wii games to most definitely not buy here!

CS manager Jaimee was very rude

by Anonymous U.

The customer service manager was very rude and arrogant (especially considering she works in the service industry). This store is now losing a business customer.

The service is bad

by C M. | insider Insider | Rank: 16,882

Although there is the convenience of having a wide selection and nearby location, the customer help here is generally bad. Even the manager didn't know what she was talking about. She made up some story so I couldn't my coupon.

Best Buy is truly the place to shop!

by Matt S. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,142

Best Buy has supreme customer service. There are always people available to help, and if that particular associate doesn't know an answer to a question, they will find it out for you. The store is clean, and the prices are always excellent. Parking has never been a problem whenever I've visited.

Just okay

by Anonymous

I have been to this Best Buy and the customer service compared to the Best Buy a little closer to home is a bit different and it shows. I think the store itself is okay, as they have things in stock, but they could improve their employees attitude.

They helped me figure everything out.

by Beth C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,567

I received a lap top as a gift (I'm a full-time college student). I did not however, receive the accessories to go with it. I needed all the goodies and Best Buy hooked me up. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money but wanted some good stuff. I got a lap top carrier, a small and retractable mouse, a surge protector, flash drive and even got a discount. All of this for less than $100!!!

Worst Experience By Far!

by HOMSIAOC

I have had 2 different vehicles broken into while parked in front of the doors at this Best Buy Location. Both times I filed a complete police report and reported to the stores manager what had happened. During my conversation with the manager I was told that it wasn't his problem and that he not be willing what so ever to even mull over the idea of putting some sort of security on the outside of the door. As I have talked to others about these two experiences I have been told by more than half of the people that I've talked to that either they themselves or someone that they knew had the exact same experience that I did and got the same response from the stores manager.

I dont want you to think that im an idiot by any means so I want to include the fact that both times that my car was broken into was over a 2 year period and that each time it was a different car that was broken into. I made certain to lock the doors as I always do, and set the alarm as soon as I left the vehicle. The first time that my car was broken into it was waiting to be worked on by the installation bay and my car audio was stolen by and employee, and the second time someone jammed a screwdriver into my passenger door lock in the middle of the day in broad day light. Both times my car was left unattended for literally no longer then 15 minutes before it was broken into.

For the fact that the company claims to be there to make its customers happy it sure doesn't seem that they live up to that standard or come anywhere close to it by any standard.

Pros: Great selection for those who can afford to have their vehicles broken into while shopping

Cons: Terrible customer care when it comes to invasion of private property while shopping at their store and parked in their parking lot
