I feel bad for the woman with wedding dress. I realize it's a stressful thing to have your wedding dress not be ready and then not fit after waiting two months. But I also think she was unwise to take such a special dress to Mai's. She does good work with hemming and uncomplicated alterations. She's very busy, and her good quality work keeps her that way. Just use your common sense and call her before going to pick up your altered garment. She works under a lot of pressure and she may forget, not because she's a bad person or bad tailor. Just overloaded. I've seen some of you, her customers, come in and berate her for not having work done when you come in. I think that's in very poor taste and poor character. I mean, have some respect, people. Again, just use your common sense and call before coming in for your garment.

PROS: More economical than others, decent quality overall
CONS: Not always timely

I gave Mai my wedding dress on August 22 for my October 28 wedding. She said it would be ready September 15. On Sep. 16 I called her and she said to call back at the end of the month. On October 5 I visited the shop and she said, "No, come back next Friday." I called her that Friday and she said it would be done by the end of the day and that she would call me to come get it. No call, nothing. I called her on October 18, and she said to come in at 5pm on the 19th. When I got there she said to me, "Oh, I forgot! Come back tomorrow at 10." I went back on October 20 at 10am to find her frantically working on the dress, jamming it into her sewing machine and getting huffy with us because we wanted to know how long we'd have to wait. After TWO MONTHS, during which time nothing had been done until the morning of October 20, my sides were too tight and the hem is an absolute mess: crooked seams and tiny threads sticking out everywhere. We couldn't maneuver around in the dressing room because it was jam packed with clothes and boxes piled in heaps on the floor - I couldn't even see how the hem looked in the mirror. The shop is a mess of clothes thrown haphazardly around, and the floor is dirty and covered in pins, buttons, and who knows what else. She gave us a small discount, but considering the quality of work and time period we waited she should have given us our money back. She then had the audacity to tell us that she didn't want to work on it anymore because she had "other projects to do." Mai might be good with six inches of hemwork or a loose button, but if you have anything valuable that needs to be repaired or altered in a timely manner, take it somewhere else.

You get alterations, fitting and tailoring done according to your needs, at a very reasonable rate here. I have done several alterations of trousers, and was satisfied each time.

I was quite impressed by their cheap rates and excellent quality of the work. I went their with a dress shirt which was torn badly. They did an excellent jobs saving me atleast 50 bucks and charged only a small percentage of my shirt. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to get a repair job done.

I took a few pairs of pants in for Mai to hem, and she did an excellent job. She managed to get the break just the way I wanted it, and didn't charge me too much for the work she did. I've also returned here a few times to have buttons and zippers resewn into shirts and such, and every time she's done a great job with the repairs, doing them quickly as well. The location is also a plus, as it's not too hard to find Mai's shop in the little strip mall it's located in.
