Please note, I was looking at other vets in the area and discovered city vet went from 1 star from last year in 2010 to 4 stars on google maps in 1 year. Almost all the reviews on google, insider page and city search are fake. Please use extreme caution when considering City Animal for their dishonest use of online reviews. Most of the phony reviewers have reviewed the same 1-5 companies in "British Columbia Canada", Oconomowoc, Madison or Milwaukee. Please also note its the same 1-5 dentist, hotels, car places, sports stores each time. Also the rate of posting is always every 6-12 days which is more popular than large Milwaukee corporations. Take care! I wrote a complaint to google.

Fabulous animal hospital. Extremely friendly staff. Knowledgeable about animal behavior, wellness, care, etc. Willing to fit you in for a last minute appointment. City Animal Hospital is worth it for their expertise and hospitality.

My little husky got his first shots here, and right away made friends with the doctor. I was very happy that his first vet experience was a good one.

My dog really loves it here. It makes me feel better that I can bring him to a place that he likes when I know dogs usually hate the vets.

My dog Lucky is 13 years old and has been a patient of Dr. Sharma for about 4 years. Lucky was bit by an insect and started to tear the hair out at the sight of the bite. After consulting with Dr. Sharma, I administered the medication he advised me to give to her and in less than two weeks her hair was already growing back. Thanks Doc! Good Job!

I highly recommend City Animal Hospital to any Pet Parent. Prices are reasonable, and unnecessary tests are not pushed. Not only is Dr. Sharma a phenomenal veterinarian, she is an outstanding person! I'm so happy that she is in our lives.

The important thing here is that the employees, including the vets, are helpful, friendly, and competent. Our 'special needs' dog was treated very well in all respects. We saw Dr. Sharma, who was very attentive, took time to answer my many questions, and called the next day with test results. During the exam and during her blood draw, he and the staff took extra special care. I felt that my pup was in excellent hands.

The care and caring has been what one might imagine from a time when house calls for people were the norm. Not only has the "bedside" manner been outstanding but the follow up calls have been more than one would expect these days. The staff was very helpful and informative. They really do care for animals and it shows.

I love this place! The employees are genuine and inviting. I always feel like I leave with all my questions answered and sincere assurance that my dog is getting the up-most attention and care. Normally, Sid (my pug) gets nervous when we approach those Vet doors, but at the City Animal Hospital he gets very excited and can't help but "talk" the entire time. The service is quick and efficient.

Words cannot express how wonderful this veterinary clinic is. I had used different clinics in the past and by luck found this office and have been a client for over 2 years. Dr. Sharma and the staff are wonderful, caring, compassionate people and I am so grateful to have the privileged of knowing them. I know my dogs receive the BEST care and there aren't any crazy hidden charges. Highly recommended A+

Great place to bring any type of pet. I have a really friendly and outgoing boxer. Its really hard to find a vet where I feel comfortable taking him too. I always get weird looks because my dog seems to be a bit of a disturbance. Well City Animal has the best staff. Everyone is very friendly and it makes it joy to bring your pet here.

took very good care of my 4.5 lb yorkie who had been incredibly dehydrated secondary to an awful GI bug. i was very lucky, the dr took such good care of my sadie. besides her shaved paw from the IV, she is getting much better. fairly priced for emergency care!

I have been taking my 2 senior age dogs to Dr.Sharma ever since they were baby puppies. My current roommate was the one who referred me to him.
Dr. Sharma is very reasonable in his prices. Plus he is known to give discounts to seniors, which I GREATLY APPRECCIATE.He aslo gives out coupons for other discounts too, such as discounts on vaccinations, fecal tests,spay/neuter,etc. He aslo gives discounts to military vets and rescue groups.
I trust him with my animals lives, and have been very happy referring others to him for the last several years.
In addition to routine & specialized vet care, Dr. Sharma also offers boarding kennels for pet owners who need a pet sitter while they are away from home.
Even though I live on the far opposite side of town (Oak-Creek), I really don't mind traveling all that distance to have my animals treated by Dr.Sharma.
If you need a vet for your precious "furr child(ren)", Dr. Sharma is the one you should take them too. Appointments are not always necessary, as he accepts walk-ins too.

I currently don't have any pets myself, but I met Dr.Sharma while I was with my friend while she had her 4 cats yearly checkups & vaccinations done.
I was very impressed how reasonably priced his services are. Compared to other vet clinics in the area, he is much better priced.Dr. Sharma is definatly an animal lover, and very dedicated to caring for his patients. He is also available for 24 hour emergency care. His staff is also very friendly.
When I get my next pet, I will definatly be bringing them to see Dr.Sharma for all of their vet care.

I have been taking my 14 year old dog to Dr.Sharma ever since she adopted me when she was 3 yrs old. Dr. Sharma is a very dedicated vet and is very reasonable priced, not to mention very honest with his clients.
I also have friends of mine who also take their animals to him and they too are very pleased with the care & treatment their pets get while under Dr.Sharma's care.
I also apprecciate the senior discount he gives me each time I take my dog to him. He is also available for 24 hour emergency care.
I live pretty far from his clinic, but I still take my dog to him whenever she needs veterinary care.
Even with gasoline prices being as high as they are, the discounted prices he gives his clients definatly makes the trip to his clinic well worth the price I pay for filling my gas tank.
If you have any pets that need a vet, please take them to see Dr. Sharma

One time, Dr.Sharma was planning on taking the day off to be with his family down at Six Flags in Gurnee,Illinois. He & his wife drove in seperate cars.Low & behold, I came across another seriously injured stray who needed immediate medical attention.I am low income & didn't have the funds needed to take the cat to the 24 hour ER vet down th street, and I would be darned to take the cat over to animal control just to have her go unclaimed and then be euthanized. Instead,I gave Dr. Sharma a call, and to show how dedicatd he is, he immeditatly left Six Flags & drove all that way back to his clinic to treat this injured cat.! He saved her life! How many other vets in this city would have rushed back home from Six Flags to treat an unclaimed stray?? Dr.Sharma is th BEST VET EVER!

I was very pleased with the service and care of my dog Teva. After moving here from Northern California, I brought my dog to the vet to get heartworm medication and shots. The price of the shots compared to clinics in California that one had to wait in line to get. Very Good prices.

I also had to get a lump removed. The Doctor provided a secure bandage that kept the area clean and it stayed on until the stitches were healed, despite my dog scratching at it. The receptionist loves animals and cleans the room after each visit.

Don't trust this place with your pet. Several years ago, as a nervous and scared young pet owner, I made the grave mistake of taking my dog there. At an appointment to monitor a fever he'd broken, this vet insisted on giving him two injections (one to make him "not drool as much") and one presumably to bring down his temperature. He got angry when I asked for price quotes.

During the follow-up visit, he said my dog needed a skin bump removed, and the only way to do it was through surgery. After that surgery, I went to pick him up, where he was lying in a blanket with excrement. I was too shocked to say anything. I never went back, and began worrying about my dog's increasing lethargy.

Less than a month later, my dog developed a terminal autoimmune disease which incurred an atrocious, tuition-level bill in emergency vet fees at the emergency hospital. This was a strange disease for a previously healthy, middle-aged dog, and it resulted in him having to be put to sleep.

I've since found a better vet for the dog I have now, but my experience at City, plus the Animal Emergency Center (which was so-so, but at least they were competent, which is more than I can say for the City Animal Hospital) causes me to feel traumatized every time I must take my dog to a vet.

Don't go to City Animal Hospital--ever.

it isn't a very "warm" place, but they have always taken good care of my kitty, especially when i had an emergency (my cat got attacked by a raccoon!) and they cleared their schedule to get my little guy in immediatly and he came out of surgery just fine and is still a snuggler.

I really dont understand the bad reviews that are on here! I've been taking my pets here for over 7 years and have been nothing but satisfied. The service is great, I love the way its been remodeled since the way it was when it first opened. I would tell anyone to use this place if they are looking for a new vet, or have a new pet. And while yes, he may be a little hard to understand, if you ask him to explain or repeat himself he will and I've never had a problem here!!!! I love it! :-)

I took Aryan to Dr Sharma for his ear infection. Aryan is 3 years old GR. The care and treatment given was extremely satisfying. I am very satisfied at the overall informative way the doctors treated Aryan. Quite a few general conditions were noticed to go on preventive care. The office took care of it with very little additional cost. I would advice all dog lovers to try out once the care that is available from these amazing friendly people in the clinic.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Sharma. I was not impressed with the outward appearance of the front office. The staff was busy talking and eating snacks. After I filled out the new patient information (they asked for the Driver License number), I found the receptionist lacking a that "I love animals" personality. After going into the exam room, which was unimpressive, I walked around to just check out the cleanliness of the room and instruments. The otiscope, used to look in ears, was on the counter. The plastic cone was full of ear wax and dog fur!! Giving the benefit of the doubt, I wanted to see if the Dr. would change it before using it on my dog. Guess what? He didn't. I asked him not to use it because the cone was dirty. So he went and got another otiscope from another room.Next I asked him about the dental cleaning and if he has his technician do the cleaning. He said no he doesn't the technician do the cleaning, he does it. Come to find out there is no Vet Technician and he conducts his surgeries by himself. As a former Vet Tech, I was appalled. How can one person administer medications, insert a chest tube for the anesthetic, monitor all body functions, keep the surgery area clean and get the pet (especially a very large pet) into a cage for recovery? The next red flag was when I told me that they x-ray the chest after the pet is under. WHAT!! I asked why and he said because they need to check the chest. This is a load of crap. I have never witnessed a dental procedure where the chest needed to be x-rayed. Don't get me wrong, x-rays MAY BE needed, but are certainly not a requirement for a dental. Heart problems, etc., should be identified through pre-anesthetic blood work and/or listening to the heart. I believe in this situation it was a scam to collect more money. Additionally, the exam was free, but the blood test was a bit pricey at $95.00. This guy just scares me. Also I was able to view down the stairs into which I saw a slight view of the kennel/surgery area. STRANGE. While I did notice a surgical pack that appeared to have been sterilized, I did not see an anesthetic machine, heart monitors. Its not to say that there aren't any, but then whose to say there are.Providing less expensive procedures shouldn't mean "field surgeries". Basic cleanliness and keeping exam rooms swept and instruments clean isn't too much to ask. I can't wait to see what he does when I ask him for a written estimate. Which you should always have. I'm guessing he'll try to get around it. If so, say bye!!

The vets and staff at City hospital are good and caring . for new patients they have free exam and consultaion and the good this about this vet is that the prices are fixed for various sergery . If required you can do walkins and there is a 24 hours emergency hotline

.

I took a kitten here a few years back to get fixed and they did take really good care of her. The staff wasn't as supportive and friendly as I had expected. I found in the bill a lot of hidden costs that were added in. And I can't really put my finger on it, but I really didn't get a strong feeling of comfort there. They didn't do anything wrong, it just wasn't as warm and welcoming and other vets that I have been to.

PROS: location, prices are okay
CONS: staff is not really warm, nor is the office itself
