The Business has changed hands.

However, I want to share my opinion of Scottys.

I have taken my vehicles to Scottys for years now and always received quality service. In my last experience with John, I had a problem with my Aztek. The car wouldn??t start. I looked at it for a few days, did research online for ideas and to no avail, I couldn??t get it to start. So, I called Scottys. They came out and flat bedded the car to their shop. They looked at the car for a few days. They couldn??t locate the issue either. John did offer to buy the car off of me to sell at the auction. I declined his offer and let a family member have the car ( it still isn??t running after 4 months). Anyway, John only charged me for the Tow and 2 hours of labor. I know he spent more time than that looking at the thing.
I need to have my new cars brakes looked at. Time to see what the new owner is like.

The operator of a Brookfield automotive repair shop, Scotty's Firestone and Radiator, has been charged in a criminal complaint accusing him of making unauthorized repairs and ID theft.

State consumer protection officials allege that John Bluemel fraudulently used a customer's Visa account to collect for repairs not authorized by the customer. Bluemel also is charged with demanding payment for unauthorized repairs from two other customers.

The customer alleging ID theft says he was told that his radiator repair work would cost $750 "complete."

Later, Bluemel called and said that additional repairs were required, according to the customer.

When the customer went to pick up the car, he was given two invoices. The first invoice was for the original work, now priced at $1,296, and a second invoice was for $452 for a fan and belt which the customer said he didn't authorize because he had previously replaced the belt.

When the customer refused to pay for the second bill, Bluemel allegedly charged his Visa card for the unauthorized work without permission.

Following an investigation, the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection referred the case to the Waukesha County district attorney, who filed a criminal complaint.

Scotty's replaced and retrofitted the airconditioning system in my 1992 Ford Taurus SHO in August 2004 for approximately $1300. I went into the shop 4 years later on 26 June 2008 to have them check on the malfunctioning air conditioner system. They charged me $166 for about 1 hour of work to tell me that the vehicle needed $1451 worth of repairs to the air conditioner. I don't know what happened to this business over the last 4 years, but they are not much more than rip-off artists to charge me $166 to tell me the vehicle needs $1451 worth of repairs. I suggest that you avoids this business.
