Having lived in Wisconsin all my life, I had never been to a cave. While teaching in SW WI one of our school field trips was to the Cave of the Mounds. I think that I enjoyed it as much or more than the students! I think everyone should partake of this experience at least once in their lifetime.

I grew up in Wisconsin, so I am familiar with what the state has to offer. My kids and I took a one day trip here, it was there first experience with caverns. It was exciting for them both. It is a little chilly, so definitely bring a sweatshirt. My son was smaller then, so I did have to carry him for a good part of the tour. Would recommend for children 7 and up. It was a little challenging having a smaller child with us and I wasn't really able to enjoy our listen to the guide. Would still recommend because anything nature has created is worth seeing.

Really fascinating cave experience! There is a gift shop with many interesting cave related items (unlike many gift stores that are full of junk). You enter the cave for the tour through the gift shop and descend a long set of stairs deep into the earth. Amazing rock formations, and surprisingly enough, not that claustrophobic. You should see this at least once, especially if you are interested in geology or natural wonders.

Cave of the Mounds is easy to find. There are several road signs pointing the way. The parking lot is large.

This is an interesting tour. I suppose I would find this more interesting if I were into rocks and caves and such. Even so, it is a good tour and I would recommend it. Bring a sweater or jacket though, as it does get a little chilly.

There is a gift shop for souveniers. There are also picnic tables outside if you bring a lunch.

The prices seemed alright....no more expensive than taking the family out for a movie. And the kids did seem to enjoy this tour.
