Horrible and unprofessional
by Andrei S.
Facts: requested cab at 5:48am, was told by the operator that cab will picking me up within 15-20min. Asked her if it's possible in 10, she confirmed. At 5:54am cab driver called and confirmed that he'll be in 3-5min. Cab arrived at 6:21 and I had to be at the Amtrak station by 6:30. At 6:27, half mile away from the station he misses the turn and takes me onto Highway... DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY MORE???

american united taxicab does suck!~written by former driver
by myles s.
all is true to my belief based on word of mouth from both drivers and office management, and what i verbally heard or seen with my own eyes. first off, i started driving cab in the late 1980's. back then you could buy a "TAG"(which is the cab license # registered to the taxi) for around $ 6,000.00 ,now if you want one, there around 100,000 dollars, and guess who owns most of the tags. in the early 90's, the city decided to put a freeze on the number of tags issued in the city of Milwaukee.and mike sanfalipo and his partner and brother Joe,who then were partners in a cab company called city vet taxi, and eventually put city vet out of business, as well as brew city., decided before the freeze to start buying up all the available tags up for sale, as well as buying up all the tags from all the old timers by offering them double for what the tag was worth. as they did this, there fleet of cabs obviously grew, to hundreds.they then started American united . united has 65% of Milwaukee's business. because they have more cabs, because the guy that owns most of the tags, owns united. also most of the independents and yellow cabs sit at the airport or the hotels, so your chances of getting anything other than a united cab in a timely fashion is slim.at least they show loll, ill give them that. i was charged 540 dollars a week in advance for a day shift cab and was forced to buy his gas at his gas station even though i was leasing his cab. talk about being greedy hey! mike sanfalipo landed several accounts with the city of Milwaukee, like t-19,united health care, and several other hm's. i was told at first i had to accept these charges and to cash them i had to pay 15% of that charge to the taxi co. more greed! plus the hm's pay him a %.i heard.the taxi that i was leasing was less than average, i worked 12 hours a day, and after rent and gas, i was lucky if i was coming home with no more than 50 dollars cash in my pocket. most days 35-40.i had to deal with weather, rush hour , snooty people from downtown, rude and disrespectful people from the inner city (ghetto) . i had to worry about speeding tickets and other crazy drivers ,people trying to rob me, (yes! it happens all the time!) drunks puking &peeing in my backseat, people doing and dealing drugs and drug runs, people having sex, people that took me on long rides and then tried to run off with out paying, car breaking down, especially out of town!, so much bull crap! that's why i quit! it wasn't worth my time or my pocket! and the chances of me getting injured through a car accident or being robbed and shot was too great! there are several drivers close to mike , Joe, and other office personnel, those snitches would get all the good rides!,(high paying) and all the store, laundry, and short neighborhood rides, mainly in the crime areas, would get farmed out to the rest of us! that's another reason i quit! in the 80's i paid 210 a week, and a quarter of the gas bill. today's drivers are nuts to work in the cab industry. NOW!< AS FOR THE DRIVERS!i have never met a bunch of goofs in my life, until i started driving cab. the majority of the drivers are mainly Somalians,Iranian, Pakistani, and Indian from India. these guys barely speak English, some better than others. I've noticed Lot of these guys smell, don't groom, race from ride to ride, steal other drivers rides, don't keep there cabs clean, and are totally rude and disrespectful, especiallyto Afro Americans, and there customers too, can be just as rude and normally are on a daily basis so the drivers attitude i can understand to some degree. but it still is not right. I've noticeda lot of drivers that drink on the night shift or they get high.they sit outside the hotels waiting sometimes an hour or more for a ride and they drink out of there cabs or smoke. or they will just go home take a beer and joint break and head back out. not all but several! you can best believe that! or fares will offer! that is very common as well! i highly doubt if any of them file taxes becausethe some of them are illegal, some past there visa, and since its all cash money they make, there is no way to tell how much they made. most fabricate there log rides or don't even fill one out. leasing the cab, is the same as if you were to lease from Avis car rental. its a lease. no driver is required to drive, you drive when you want. as long as you have the taxi owners rent, they could care less what you do in that 12 hours. why the police haven't cracked down is beyond me. as well as the immigration department.i bet they would find several people that don't belong here in the united states!

Services
by Ashley w.
My experience with American united taxi cab service was horrible. I called to request a cab and I was told that they are not accepting any more rides call back after 1:30pm. So i call at 1:25 and request a cab again and this dispatcher was very rude and said well it's not 1:30 and were not accepting anyone. I said OK and hung up. I have problems with them all the time because If i get a cab the taxi driver is very rude and likes to rush you. I even had a cab driver tell me he didn't want to make another stop for me on the way to my final destination. I had to tell him look, I'm paying you for a service how you going to tell me where you going to take me. As long as I'm being charged you have no say so. I just hate American united cab drivers and dispatchers! No they did not meet my expectations because I spend over 20.00 each time i get into a cab i expect to be treated with respect. They to me specialize in being ass-holes and jerks.I can agree with the rates but they are just horrible people. I absolutely would not recommend them to anyone because they are rude, bossy, and aggressive people that like to rush you.

Worse Experience EVER
by R P.
I scheduled a ride to the airport 6 HOURS in advance. They missed the appointment, and the dispatcher met me with anger and profanity when I called to inquire.
It is mind-boggling that a taxi service can screw something like this up, and worse, that you are insulted for merely trying to use their services. TOTALLY PATHETIC.

I like American United better than any other cab service. They are always very fast at getting to you. Their prices are really not that bad at all. The drivers that I've had have all been really nice and reliable.

This is the service to call if a taxi is needed. They are speedy getting to you and getting you to your planned destination. They are usually hanging out around well visited area like a train station or airport. The drivers have always been friendly and well groomed.
