I have lived in this apartment in allouez for a year my ceiling leaked water on the lover level in took them 2 months to fix it, at the end of my lease i was broken into twice with no forced entry so some one had keys so that means my locks were never changed! You pay heat and electric (and the heat is electric heat) and since the windows are old my wps bill was $250 a month..... I WOULD NOT RENT FROM HILLCREST!!

Colonial Court is a terrible place! I am renting what now is my second lease, our first year here was alright, but they had trouble with management not doing their job so the old manager was reassigned and its just been down hill from there. Its now June and our grass has maybe been cut 3 times, its long and gross, our landscaping is terrible (I hate having people over due to the appearance) Its a non-smoking complex and yet people smoke in the elevator and halls and garage.

I have a 7 week old baby and his swing is by our patio door (we are on the second floor) and yesterday I heard what sounded like a gun shot going off, I look up from the lunch I was preparing and my patio door was shattered! Behind my son, luckily he was not injured, it had been the outside pane that broke. I then called management and received no call back. about a hour and a half after my call one of the maintenance men came and said they would fix the door the next day.
Now its 5:30 PM the next day and I received no call, and nobody stopped to fix the door. And when I called management She had no idea what was going on. I heard her ask the SAME maintenance man what was going on and he said he hit it with a rock while cutting glass (second floor apartment) I was then told the door was on order and they where not sure when it would be in. What am I supposed to do with a shattered patio door? and since its nice out I now cannot open the door to let a breeze in.

I do not recommend this place to any one, most of the tenets are questionable and the place is now a dump on the outside and the inside is like a cheap hotel. No one follows the 'rules' (returning carts to the basement, not allowing their dogs to bark, no smoking, and parking where they are supposed too) and nothing is worse then having friends over and they cant park in the GUEST parking because lazy tenets refuse to park in the tenet lot, we all get the 'be good neighbors or else' letters stuck to our doors but when nothing changes and it comes to the 'or else' part the manager always falls short...

To add insult to injury: they raised our rent by almost $100, to keep their 'high standards', we then had our lease lost, was told to pay a month to month (150 more then our rent now) until it was found.

Lets just say, as soon as I can get out, I'm leaving.

I have been renting from Hillcrest Properties for about 6 months now and have yet to feel welcome, respected or valued by the management & supervisory staff. Before moving into the apartment I requested that a few minor things be done (replace a broken under-counter lamp, have window shade polls installed so I could hang curtains, & to have exposed wiring covered) which the Apt Manager said she would take care of. None of these things were done. I had to go out and buy a new under-counter lamp and install it myself, I had to remove the wiring and I have yet to receive curtain rods.
About one month after moving in I noticed that my apt. door was the only apt that did not have a dead bolt. When I requested that a deadbolt be put in I was told that I would have to pay for it even though when I moved out it would stay with the building. I went out and purchased a dead bolt and informed the Apt Manager that I would leave it for the maintenance person to install as she said he would. TWO MONTHS later my dead bolt was installed. Plus when I came home on the day it was installed, my apt was covered in saw dust & wood chips. The maintenance person never bothered to sweep or clean up after his work, nor did he bother to move shoes, bags and purses out of the way, so I ended up with wood chips & saw dust in my shoes, bags & purses. After all that the hole that was drilled into my door was too large so the deadbolt didn??t cover it all, for about a week anyone walking by could peek into my apt.
Another issue is that the boiler broke, so we have no heat which is included in the rent. The apt manager dropped off space heaters to ??take the chill out of the air? until the boiler is fixed. The intentions are good, however our electric bill is not included in the rent so we are currently paying for our heat when Hillcrest is supposed to be paying for it.
Even with all that has happened above nothing is more disturbing to me then what I will tell you next. I had a complaint that I have called the Property Supervisor (Becky) about because I felt it would be better handled by going to someone of more authority than my Apt Manager. I have written a letter and left SEVERAL messages on Becky??s voicemail and she has yet to respond. She has contacted my apt manager about the issue and has instructed that my Apt Manager speak to me about it. I requested that my Apt Manager tell Becky that I wish to speak to her & that she return my phone calls, and the Apt Manager insists that Becky wishes not to contact me, & that she has more important things to deal with. HOW RUDE IS THAT! It is rather insulting that the property supervisor feels she can dismiss her tenants request to speak with her. I find that the over all experience with this company is more than disappointing and rather insulting. Perhaps the management and supervisory team at Hillcrest could use some schooling on what is important when it comes to business. Becky the property supervisor needs to understand that the customer/renter should come first and should always be responded to & acknowledged. Note: if you call Becky and get her voice mail it says something to the effect of ??Your call is very important to me so please leave your name & number so I may return your call promptly & properly? it should say ??Some of the calls I receive are important to me, so please leave your name & number so I may call you back if I feel like dealing with you.? I am very disappointed in every experience with this company thus far.
They do not meet my expectations and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Have dealt with several maintenence men who always are professional and try to quickly do their job without interfering with our family. The office has always answered my phone calls in a curteous manner and the Allouez Parkway Apartment property manager always has an open door and is happy to address any issues. They are wonderful about maintaining the yard and common areas too.
