Wish you could give negative stars! Stupidly bought a puppy here, a beautifle white german shepherd puppy. We were concerned about prey drive as we already have smaller dogs. Was assured repeatedly that would not be a problem, since the puppy was growing up with the pack, she would fall into place. Unfortunately they obviously would tell you the dog could fly and give you a convincing argument and story to go with it. My fault for listening. At 5 months the puppy started getting influenced by her hormones, and the fights began. She started stalking and attacking one of the other dogs. She became relentless, a fight every other day. 45 pounds is lot of dog trying to kill a 20 pound shetland sheep dog. After going through the paperwork received with the puppy, she was taken from the mother way to early. Only 8 weeks when we got her, and she had been there for a week. When it became obvious that we had a serious problem, made a call to seek guidance to the store. No one was available to talk and was promised a call the next morning from a manager. Not surprisingly no call. As soon as it started happening, we brought in a trainer. Everyone that we discussed the problem with, vet, trainer, and a few people we know well who know dogs, advised to rehome her before one of our other dogs got killed. It broke our hearts to rehome her, but for the safety of everyone, we had no choice. Toughest decision of our lives. The best description of the information as given to us from the sales people at Puppyworld is equivalent to a used car salesman's spiel, lie, cheat, anything to make the sale. Lying is standard operating procedure. If you are interested in a puppy, find a reputable breeder. Don't fall for the lies and cons they spew. We miss that dog every day and are having a very difficult time forgiving ourselves for what happened.

I just don't understand how nave people can be regarding Pet Stores that sell puppies. You may have had a decent experience but do you ever consider what the parents of these puppies are going thru so that you can buy a puppy. These puppy mill parents live in horrific conditions. They are bred until they can no longer breed and then disgarded like a piece of trash... Most do not see the light of day or are ever allowed out of their small cage... When you buy from these stores, you are promoting the mistreatment of animals.... It makes me SICK!!!!!!!

Having never purchased a dog from here, I can't attest to their standards; however, many of the animals I've seen from here, have been on craigslist up for rehoming. This does not bode well, it indicates that puppy world doesn't care about

We purchased two puppies form Puppy World back in October. The establishment seemed nice and clean. They were very friendly and willing to work on us with prices. One question was asked as to how they obtain the puppies and the question was answered with, a private breeder of which they know the name. After purchasing the puppies on the integrity of their business principle of "we'd never buy from a puppy mill", we brought home two happy puppies with the crates and cages that they provided to us within the cost. They gave us two collars, two leashes, two cages, food bowls, and some toys. Upon further investigation on the breeder information, the breeder name was Heritage Puppies. Immediately my suspicion arose that in fact these were puppies from puppy mills. However, they adamantly denied this and claimed they brought from private local breeders. A 2009 Investigation done by the Humane Society of America in fact shows that Heritage Puppy is in fact a puppy mill. The Wisconsin Puppy Mill project also supports this claim.

As of last night, we are now down to one puppy. The small Pomeranian mix managed to tangle his collar onto the cage, of which they both provided to us, and suffocated himself. We tried to resuscitate him with CPR and mouth to mouth but to no avail. We had expressed in the beginning of the purchase that we had never owned a small puppy and we asked as many questions as possible about taking care of this new pup both mentally and physically. We failed to protect him against the products provided by Puppy World. One of the workers behind the counter told us that all the collars that they sell on a wall were in fact breakaway collars. Another lie by Puppy world as I have now buried our 2 month old Pomeranian of which my wife is devastated from. Puppy world failed to provide us with this knowledge of their product and the safety hazard provided with wearing their supposedly break away collars, which are in fact, snap on collars and in no way represent a break away collar.

We went in there today to find some remedy to our problem of losing this puppy with their products. They preceded to tell us that it was common sense not to do that, which if it were common sense, why was it not disclosed at purchase when we revealed we were new to puppies. They offered us $200 off on a new puppy and said it was a learning lesson on losing the Pomeranian. Such disregard for an animals life was displayed at Puppy World. I am a US Veteran with 2 deployments within my career and I have never been more disgusted in a person's disregard for any type of life. We discussed with them in person today a refund for a new puppy. They claimed it was an accidental death and that they would not provide us with a new puppy, but merely a discount. Their "break-away" collar, which is not, and their cages has caused my wife and I severe emotional distress as a result of trying to perform CPR and mouth to mouth on the Pomeranian.

They claimed they told us about the hazard and of which i disclosed their other lie of puppies they sell coming from a puppy mill. They adamantly denied the fact but the breeder information shows Heritage Puppies of Iowa and two investigations show by Puppy mill project and Humane Society of America show it is in fact a puppy mill. Their false advertising led us to purchase not one but 2 dogs from them. We would never purchase from a puppy mill or its brokers had we been told the truth. I understand that the dogs death was accidental but they provided us with the cages and collars, which they claimed was break-away, and failed to provide us with safety hazards of their products. The end result in our conversation today was telling them I would be contacting the BBB and my attorney for their false advertising and complete lack of regard for canine life. I also informed them that I would not be purchasing any dogs from them again, to which their answer was "well look how many have you bought from us already".

Puppy World shows complete disregard for canine life, false advertisement and lying to its customers and completely unsatisfactory customer service. Their reputation within Milwaukee is warranted and I had wish I had done research on this terrible business before hand. I am contacting the BBB to make sure that more people do not go through what we have experienced nor the countless others they have lied to and caused emotional harm. We would like to not contact our attorney and just receive a refund for the lies they told us equaling $900. If such a refund can not be agreed to, we informed them that we will be contacting our attorney.

Wow, so Ive read all of the reviews on this page and they are remarkably divided (it seems like everyone gave this business either a one or five star rating with virtually no middle ground). I thought Id throw in my two cents, since Im sort of on the fence about this place.
First of all, Id like to say that I have never bought a puppy from a pet store before because I am very concerned about puppy mills. I first discovered the dark world of the puppy mill industry while researching an unrelated story about an Amish community and was horrified to find that many Amish and Mennonite families unapologetically run puppy mills and that these disgusting places are perfectly legal. Because of this first-hand experience (which gave me nightmares- puppy mills are that horrific), every pet Ive ever owned came from an animal shelter or a private, home-based breeder whom I visited to see the conditions for myself. Until now. I went into Puppyworld in March 2013 with my fianc on a whim, just to look (I know-always a bad idea). We had no intention of getting a dog until after our wedding this summer but then we just fell in love with this one puppy and impulsively decided we had to have her. She is a Jack Russell-Rat Terrier mix which they called a Jack Rat and she cost $570. I think that is a little pricey for a mix-breed dog, but my fianc really wanted her and we can afford it, so I wasnt too concerned about that aspect of it-everything is always overpriced in pet stores because of the overhead costs of operating that kind of facility. I didnt bother asking if the dog was from a puppy mill because I didnt expect an honest answer. Instead I asked for the name of the breeder- I know the names of a lot of the larger puppy mills in the surrounding states and wanted to see if I recognized the name. They gave me a persons name and said she was a small, single-family, reputable breeder. I didnt recognize that as the name of any of the dog brokers or puppy mills I am familiar with, and because we both were so in love with this dog we ended up just getting her before I had a chance to do any kind of check on the breeder. Since then I have been unable to verify to my own satisfaction whether or not this is a puppy mill, a legit breeder, or something in-between. However, I will present a list of facts, both good and bad, and you can make your own judgment regarding this place:
Our puppy did not have any parasites or infections. We had her checked out by our vet within days of bringing her home. Virtually all dogs that come from puppy mills have ear or eye infections, kennel cough, or some kind of intestinal parasites, so if the puppy is healthy in those respects, they likely came from a reputable breeder.
Our puppys breeder does not appear to be licensed by the USDA. Puppy mills are regulated by the USDA because they are treated as agricultural facilities. Private breeders are not. If our puppy came from a puppy mill, I should have been able to locate the USDA license number.
Puppyworlds vaccination schedule is bogus. They are vaccinating the puppies when they are too young to develop any immunity and are giving the vaccinations too close together for them to be effective. If you do get a puppy here, treat it as though it hasnt had any vaccinations at all.
Our puppy is very small for her breed and has some features that remind me more of a Chihuahua. I question whether her parents were really a pure-bred Jack Russell and Rat Terrier, as we were told.
We had been in the store once before and shown interest in a border collie, but they talked us out of getting her because we live in an apartment and border collies do better in an environment where they have a large yard to run around in. If they were only in it for the money, I think they would have just sold us that dog, no questions asked.
The puppy came with a comprehensive long-term health guarantee, something that would be a big financial risk on their part if they were dealing with shady breeders.
Im giving them three stars. I dont think these people are saints, but I dont think they are villains either, though it seems everyone is eager to place them in one of those two categories. Our puppy is healthy, happy, friendly, and very intelligent. She has been easy to train and we are very happy to have her in our lives. I hope she didnt come from a puppy mill, but I probably will never know for sure. Either way, we love her and its too late to do anything about it now. I probably will not buy another dog from Puppyworld or any other pet shop, as I plan to go back to adopting shelter pets in the future.

My finacee and I just purchased a puppy from Puppyworld. The woman that helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful. The store was clean and well maintained. I have had some reservations about purchasing a puppy from a pet store but was impressed right away and my worries were put at ease. We have since taken our new puppy to the vet and she was given a clean bill of health. She has been just a wonderful addition to our family and I wouldn't trade her for anything. I can't speak for other pet stores, but this one is top notch!

I am a veterinarian in the city of Milwaukee. As such I see several puppies for their initial puppy exam that have been purchased at Puppyworld Inc.

The puppies that I see are generally mixed breed dogs billed as "designer breeds" that come with a designer price tag. They are often small for their breed type with distended abdomens (which can be generally linked to intestinal parasites), open fontanelles (a "soft spot" on their skull), upper respiratory infections, and are otherwise less than optimally healthy dogs.

The vaccine records sent with the puppies are uniformly overzealous. Vaccinations that should be given no sooner than 6 weeks of age are started at 3-4 weeks and are spaced 1-2 weeks apart when they should be given once every 3-4 weeks. I doubt the validity of these records and tell clients to treat their puppy as one that has not received any previous vaccinations so as to not risk their future health.

I also once saw a puppy from that facility that came with a certificate of neutering. The puppy had not in fact been neutered meaning that the records that accompanied the puppy had been falsified.

Most clients that I see adore the puppies that they have purchased and I do not doubt that love, nor do I doubt that the dog purchased will be anything less than a wonderful member of its new family. But I would like to say that if you are looking for a puppy, avoid all puppy stores. Try to find a local breeder (or better yet, make a trip to your local humane society). Ask to see where the puppies are kept and meet the mother, if not the father as well. Ask permission from the breeder to contact their veterinarian to ensure that the breeder is a responsible dog owner. And if you have any concerns/misgivings please call your local veterinarian to discuss these. As a profession we want to see people paired with happy, healthy pets and would love the opportunity to encourage a good purchase of an animal.

So....for myself I had a great experience in Puppyworld about 6 months ago. I bought a shih tzu puppy that has been nothing but the best thing for our family.when i came into the store I had explained the the sales lady the situation in our home. She actaully talked me out of buying a puppy that day because nothing in the storre suited our lifestyle, considering the circumstances. Thank you so much Puppy world for taking the time, and caring for my family. We made the best decision!!!! We definately will recommend you to everyone!!!

We got our Cock-a-Poo from Puppy World. He is the most wonderful dog. He is friendly, warm, cute, loving, he loves children, loves everyone. He is, if I do say so myself, the cutest dog in existence!! I don't know if the bad reviews here are based on puppies purchased at Puppy World but I doubt it.

Thank you Puppy World...you are the BEST!!!!

Stay away! They are OVERPRICED for starters. They sell mixed breeds for hundreds of dollars and the puppies come from puppy brokers, not straight from the breeders. A "pek-a-poo"? No, it's a poodle/pekingese mix... Or what about a "puggle" - NO - try a pug/beagle mix. Any intelligent person could get the same mixed breeds at any shelter for a fraction of the price. I have to admit (shamefully) that I have purchased a dog from this place and although I love my dog, it was a huge mistake. My dog was so sick when I got her home and she cost me hundreds in vet bills during the first few weeks for medications. Puppyworld told me they wouldn't pay for the medical expenses, but they would replace the dog! How cold and heartless is that!!! Save your money, not to mention a life and adopt instead. A great place to look is Petfinder.com It's where I found my other dog and I have NO regrets!

I made the mistake of going into this store just to look at the puppies. I feel in love with a beautiful bulldog girl, for whom they were asking $2400. Bulldogs are never cheap, but $2400 is crazy. I asked for her breeder name, which they gave me and assured me it was a reputable breeder & also told me she was APR registered. Now I know better than to buy pets at places like these, but I felt like I needed to save her. After I got home I researched the "breeder" who is actually a puppy mill in southern IL. (JEAN WAGLER) I aslo found out that the APR is a bogus registery used by pet stores to charge more for pets. I printed off hundreds of cases against the so called breeder, information on the scam that is the APR, and took it back to Puppy World. Playing dumb I said I was sure they knew nothing about all of this but here is what I found & I would love to buy the puppy at a fair price in order to give her a nice life because according to her breeding records, she probably wouldn't have a long one. I was given ever excuse in the book as to why I was wrong, the information I found was wrong, their breeders are all very reputable (although I had cases of abuse and neglect printed out & in their hands.)

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted to give them the chance to do the right thing. They failed.

i really don't think anyone knows what they are talking about on here. I have bought three puppies from puppy world and they all have been amazing. My mom also bought our family dog there 6 years ago and she is perfectly healthy and the greatest dog ever. All the puppies we've purchased have been the friendliest dogs I've ever seen. They love children, cats and other dogs. How can you complain about puppies having a cold. There are 15 dogs in crates in one room of course they might have a cold. The boxer I recently purchased had a cold and they offerered to treat him and keep him there until he was done with his treatment so my other dog wouldn't get sick.

Im over people bashing pet stores, i don't think puppyworl should be one of them. I do agree there are some that are bad!!! This one isn;t!!! My boyfriends family has a shih tzu that is 17 from there, and my family bought a cairn terrier from ther a year ago, and is th greatest dog ever. I moved due a job change and came back, and decided to buy an english Mastiff from them, Lumpy is very healthy and is affectionate. By the way this breed is known to be shy, and he is far from that.

We purchased a chihuahua from Puppyworld in June, 2009 for $1000. About 4 months after having her, she stopped using her left rear leg. We took her to the vet to find out that she has a genetic condition called a luxating patella, which means that her patellar groove is too shallow to hold the ligament in place while she walks. She needed immediate knee surgery which costed us $900 and put her in a lot of pain for 4 months until she finally healed up. Then, about 8 months later, she had to have her other leg done. Her luxating patellas are not the only genetic defect she has. She was also born with a collapsing trachea, which has been quite a challenge. Every time she gets out of breath or excited, her trachea collapses, rendering her unable to breathe. There is no cure for this disease, so every time it happens, we have to pick her up and blow in her mouth to get it to open again. Needless to say, our chihuahua is not the healthy dog Puppyworld claimed she was.

Unfortunately, this story gets worse. A month after purchasing our chihuahua from Puppyworld (before the problems had started with her), we bought a second dog from them... an adorable pug for $1000. Her story is absolutely tragic! Unlike our chihuahua, our pug's problems didn't show up right away. We had her for about a year when she suddenly started peeing all over the house. Of course, we assumed she had a bladder infection so we took her to the vet. Because she had had 2 other bladder infections before this, the vet wanted to get an Xray to make sure her kidney, ureters, and bladder were okay. To his surprise, our pug had a much more severe problem... she had severe congenital hip dysplasia. Our vet told us that in his 30+ years of practice, he has never seen such horrible hip dysplasia in a dog so young. The reason she had been peeing all over the house is because her malformed hip bones kept sliding all over the place, and they pushed on her bladder. He also explained that her deformed hip bones have been rubbing together for her entire 1.5 years of life which has caused extensive bone remodeling and arthritis. Our pug now needs total hip replacements on both sides, and we just got a quote from the Orthopaedic surgeon in Madison for $9000! Unfortunately, we do not have that kind of money, and are likely looking at having our poor, sweet little 1.5 year old pug put to sleep if we can't come up with the money :(

The worst part about this whole thing is that the staff at Puppyworld were incredibly mean and nasty to us when we told them about our pug's hip dysplasia. The staff at Puppyworld say "we cover hip dysplasia in the first three years" as a selling point. What they don't tell you is that their idea of covering hip dysplasia is giving you store credit toward a new puppy. How can they think that a puppy is replaceable? We don't want to replace her! We want to fix the puppy we have!!! She's our baby, and she is irreplaceable!!! Since we have no interest in getting another genetically defective dog from them, we asked the manager at Puppyworld if we could please have cash back for our puppy so that we can put it towards her surgery. She was soooooooooo nasty to us! She told us that we are "cheap asses" and that its not her problem that our dog is malformed.

We tried contacting our pug's breeder to see if there was anything they could do to help us cover our pug's surgery. It turns out that there is no way to contact the "breeder" because the puppy came from a large puppy mill in southern Iowa. There's not even a way to contact them!

The people at Puppyworld are nasty, dishonest criminals!!! They purchase poor, sickly puppies from puppy mills for cheap and then sell them to poor, unsuspecting people for thousands of dollars! PLEASE do not purchase a puppy from Puppyworld! We need to make a stand against this horrible business!!!

Ok so I have read every one of these posts now it my turn. I have worked for this company going on 3 years now and its been great. This company is family owned and operated, which makes it that much better to work for. When you step in the store its a homey type atmosphere not like your walking into corporation where they breathe down your neck the second your in the door. I mean we/they go out of their/our way to make the store that way from decorations on hoildays, keeping the store clean, and even taking pictures of our customers with their new family member. Thats just a few of many ways we try to above and beyond to make us welcoming.

Now to the ones that have had bad experiences we do apologize but you must know that things can happen to puppies they are like human lifes. I get colds you get colds and its not because we live in bad housing or situations its because its past from one human to another, and in their case dog to dog. We kinda like to call it a day care in some aspects. If you have a son or daughter in day care and they get sick from being there you don't blame the day care or the kid that got them sick you just try to get them better. And thats what we do. You also must know we take great care of all our puppies like they are our own, when something is wrong we rectify the situation to the best of our ablility. You all need to know whatever it takes to make sure our puppies are healthy and well maintained, thats what we strive for everyday. Some days are better than others but we work hard to make that happen for our past customers, present customers, and future ones.
For our breeders, they are USDA licensed. We have worked with them for many many years. Trust me when I say this if the owner thought for one second she was getting bad puppies or as most say "puppy mill" dogs she wouldnt do business with them ever. Its not what she practices and its not what she has us practice. Also we have been in business over 13 years or so, wouldnt you think that we would have been shut down years ago if we had such a bad background, of course we would. But we have done the exact opposite and will continue to grow because we have employees that care and that will go out of there way to make the customer that much more satisfied. (Off-Topic) Not to mention I bought my dog lilly from Puppy World before I worked their and she has been nothing but perfect health wise.
And as far as people getting money for vet bills we really do go out of our way to accomadate the customer when that occurs. Our warranty covers anything that has to do with like heart, liver, lungs ect. (congenital) and its covered up to the price of the dog. I have seen first hand that we cover things for people all the time that we shouldn't. Its family owned and alot of the times it goes case by case cause we don't see high volume of major problems, thats because we prevent things from happening. The owner and management team work to make things fair for both parties.
So I hope this helps for the people that are on the fence from coming into our store or that has bad taste in their mouth, you have heard it from the horses mouth. We hope to see you in our store soon and for the ones that know us or don't we will continue to strive for excellence to make your experience at Puppy World that much better!!

They will deny the fact that they purchase their puppies from puppy mills til the death. But, if you actually purchase a puppy from them and do the research on where your puppy actually came from, you will find out quickly that it was indeed from a puppy mill. These are dishonest people doing dishonest business, and they charge a whole lot for it! I urge you to please do not support this business! Buy from the humane society or private breeders!

Some healthy dogs, some sick. I just wish EVERY buyer had to spend just 1 day in the same conditions these puppies parents endure their entire miserable lives. There are lot's of places to get puppies without promoting this kind of mistreatment of our loving, trusting friends.

I just wish everyone that considers buying a dog from a mass production outfit like this, would spend just 1 day of their lives like these dogs parents spend every day of their sad lives. This place would close it's doors in one week if we didn't go in there blind and stupid. My god, you're giving money to folks that you should be smart enough to know are one tiny step better than dog fight promoters.

I purchased my little girl Sheba from Puppy World in March 2008. My family and I are very pleased with our little girl. I am very glad that I went to Puppy World to purchase our little girl because the puppies were healthy, the store was very clean, and the workers there were very helpful, friendly, and caring when it came to helping us with the puppy. We have had our little girl for almost 2 years now and she is very healthy and happy. As a matter of fact, we were so pleased with Puppy World that we are going to get another little girl from there tomorrow. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

We have had our little girl for almost 2 years now and she is very healthy and happy. As a matter of fact, we were so pleased with Puppy World that we are going to get another little girl from there tomorrow. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I actually have a lot of good faith in this pet store because my grandmother and I just bought a sheltie from here a month ago, and she is the best puppy ever. My grandma actually bought her first sheltie from here 15 years ago that just passed away, and she brought a lot of joy and happiness in our family. We also brought her polaroid picture in with us from our first puppy we bought from here, and the same sales lady is still working there. I feel this is a very special place, and they really do have good breeders, and we're looking forward to another great 15 years with our new puppy.

This place is nothing but a puppy mill disguised as a pet store. After purchasing (in a moment of weakness and after being given the run around at the local humane society) a basset hound, we quickly found out what "quality" puppies this place was selling. I did a little research & actually called the breeder in Kansas City (puppy mill capitol) and spoke to him on the phone, never letting on what my real agenda was. I convinced him that I loved this basset hound so much that I wanted another one just like her. He told me he breeds his dogs every time they go into heat and sells them off to a broker who peddles them all over the country. They live outside, most likely in cages. $3000 (within 1 month) later, we discovered she had parasites, a degenerative disease & MAJOR bathroom issues. Puppyworld refused to help with the bills, even with documentation from the vet.

My husband and I bought a kitten from them and they told us she was from one of their best breeders. We had no intention of buying a pet store kitten (over the Humane Society), but fell in love with a sweet little girl. 2 1/2 years later the vet told us she was born with feline leukemia (a contagious disease mostly found in strays) and she quickly deteriorated. We had to put her to sleep because she was suffering so much. My heart was broken.
How completely irresponsible of them to support a breeder that is selling off dying cats.

Also, shame on them for using puppy mills.
They should be shut down!
They get one star only because zero is not an option.

I did some looking around on the internet and found USDA = puppy mills. My wife and I are so upset. PLEASE DONT BUY FROM PUPPY WORLD, DOGS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LIVE THAT WAY... THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

I purchased a Toy Poodle Shih Tzu Mix dog and have had him for 9 years. He is perfectly healthy and a very sweet and affectionate dog. I was not over charged and would recommend PuppyWorld to anyone.

This place is just awful! I didn't know that 98% of pet stores sell puppies from back yard crappy breeders or puppy mills when I first got my puppy from there. It was way overpriced but I fell in love when I saw the cute Yorkie. Needless to say I learned the hard way that my 1200.00 bought me a sick almost dying puppy and has caused me and my family nothing but heartache.
The store owner just gave me the run around and made excuses when I brought her my vet bills and was just down right rude. Obviously all they care about is your money there, not their puppies or their customers. My cousin adopted a purebread Yorkie for less than 200.00 at their shelter and their dog was already spayed and had it's shots. I'll never make that mistake again! I wish I knew better, so I just want to warn others from making the same EXPENSIVE mistake I made!

We have had KiKi for about 2+ years. He is an Min. American Eskimo and is affectionate, loving, caring, a bit nuts, the life of every party and generally the perfect dog, especially with us being first time dog owners. We knew the breed that we wanted before going to Puppyworld (prompted by seeing one there we did our homework) and when we went back and saw him he really stood out, bright and energetic. Every time we have gone to the vet we've always received a great report except he's a bit overweight (too many treats). Puppyworld put us together with a winner!

17 years ago I bought my beloved bichon from puppy world. She was pet quality not show quality which was fine with me. She was more than a pet she was a member of our family. She passed away at home, six weeks ago. Other family members have purchased puppies from this store and are very pleased. Today we have added new member to our family and hope to have the same wonderful results we had with our bichon. Also we were not over charged like the previous writers. Just because you go directly to a breeder, does not guarantee good results. Buyers should always be careful, but after looking at shelters and breeders we chose to buy our new puppy from the same place where we purchased our beloved Brandi.

I usually don't write reviews on web sites like this. After reading all those one-sided complaints, I wanted to relay my GOOD experience with Puppy World. I lost my "breeder-bought" yorkie puppy to a liver problem when it was nine months old! This puppy was purchased from a "reputable" breeder located from the newspaper. I was mortified when the breeder would not even return my calls. On a whim, I went to Puppy World with no intent of purchasing a puppy. I fell in love with a gorgeous ten week old little boy. He was clean and very social as well. From what I could see, without taking every puppy out and inspecting them, the puppies that were out to play were just as well taken care of. The price was not as low as I had seen elsewhere, but I really liked that it came with a a warranty, papers, shots, etc. That made it worth it. After a restless night of tossing and turning, I came back ang bought him. Duke has been a blessing to my family and I always get compliments on his coat and his personality whenever I take him out. This experience does not change anyone's bad experience but I wanted people to know that I had a good experience AND would go back to Puppy World. I also wonder if these people noticed any of this "horrible" stuff like their puppies being dirty or unsocialized when they were there buying their puppies?

Pros: My puppy is happy and healthy.

Cons: I wish they had a better selection of boys and girls, but I do love my boy.

I just read the reviews, and I'm so taken back by the negative comments because I just bought my 2nd Pekingese puppy from Puppyworld. My first one just passed away that I had bought from there 15 years ago, and I can't say enough about "Goofa." He was so healthly, smart , well behaved, I could go on and on. My 2nd puppy that I just bought a couple months ago is AWESOME too! I don't think I would buy a puppy from anywhere else. I shopped around before I bought my 2nd puppy to stores, and breeders. The other stores were definately not as clean or knowledgable. Then I thought about it when I went to breeders they just couldn't stand by the health of there puppies. I also have a close friend that purchased a Lab a couple of years ago, and "Booger" is excellent. I would highly recommend them, and fully trust them. From my research, besides this site, everyone that I've talked to loves the quality of service, they're family owned, and have a warranty that they stand by to best that they can on a puppy. I look forward to the next 15years with my new little guy, and I think in a couple years I'll be back to get another!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Our family has always gone to a breader for a puppy and for some reason decided to step into this sh*t hole. We fell in love with a little doggy, so cute, and already 5 months old. Well, first of all, our doggy at 5 months had never been out of the store before, we has to carry him out and he was crying and shaking. Later we took him to the vet and we were told he had a heart murmur (poor little guy)!!!! We went back in to confront them and they said they did not have to tell us because it was a lower grade murmur. Not only that, but he has been so hard to potty train. The only reason I give this place one star because i love my dog, but he has so many problems. I love him so much and we rescued him from that horrible place, but please if you buy a dog dont do it from this place. The cages are so small, all the cats are sick, and the puppies do not look healthy either. They lie, and charge way too much for sick dogs and cats.

We bought a Siberian Huskie from their store. I don't remember how much it was but I do know that it was twice as much as the breeder that we purchased our second huskie from. But, within 6 months, the huskie we purchased from puppy world had to be put down because its kidneys were failing. When we requested our money back for the emotional stress, they attempted to give us the money back with dog food.

I highly recommend not going here. I had purchased a bichon puppy here and when I took her to my vet I was told that she had horrible skin allergies and down syndrome. Also she told me that she had been the result of over breeding and most likely came from a puppy mill. Then 3 days later she came down with kennel cough which almost killed her. weeks later I received her papers and found out that she had not come from a local breeder like I was told she came from Arkansas. So please learn from my mistake buy your puppy from a reputable breeder, rescue or humane society.

I purchase what was supposed to be a purebred bichon and later found out that she was in fact a mix. When I brought her home she was filthy covered in feces and urine, I don't think she had ever had a bath. then when I took her to the vet to be examined I was told that she had down syndrome and sever allergies. Also 3 days later she came down with kennel cough and almost died. This was completely unnecessary considering she should have had a bordetella vaccine. When I did finally received her papers I noticed that she did not come from a legit breeder, she came from a known puppy mill in Arkansas. So I am begging you not to make the same mistake I did do not contribute to this animal cruelty that is puppy mill dogs sold at pet shops. instead go to your local animal shelter, rescue or vet recommended local breeder. I admit I hesitated greatly to buy my new dog here. My first one we adopted from the Humane Society. But we really wanted a golden retriever. Cost=900$. WE love our dog. BUT Puppyworld has failed to provide us with the proper paperwork that he indeed is a purebred and who his parents are, where he came from. They insisted I did not pay the second payment of the 2 part installment even though the check cleared. When presented with the proof of payment from the bank all I have gotten is a runaround. That person is "not available". They have not returned my emails, phone call or messages. When I went in person they "could not find" his paperwork. I wish I would have read a similar post that another person wrote last week before I patronized their store in March.

My family purchased a puppy from Puppy World on 27th street in August. When you go to puppy world they claim that their dogs come from certified breeders. We purchased a pure bred dog from them and they claimed that his papers would be sent to us within the next few weeks. It has been months (9 to be exact) and we have made several attempts to contact them to receive papers and they still have not gotten back to us. Aside from the fact that their dogs are over heinously over priced, their employees seem like they are intoxicated when you go in there and the fact that they keep their dogs in dirty cages- I guess you might consider shopping there(for food and accessories).

Advice: Don?t buy a dog/cat from a pet store; especially not this one!
