Kevin and his staff are the best. I know that they are always being honest with me, their prices are fair, and they go out of their way to take care of me. Kevin and his wife Terri even drove to my office to jump my car and drive it back to Greiten's for me. They go above and beyond to help their customers, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I don't know if this nightmare is ever going to end. I wrote a review earlier about my VW Jetta. We all know early 2000's VW's have their share of issues but...

My timing belt broke. Brought it to them, they said they could fix it. They put a new belt on, and then called me to tell me my head was damaged and that I was looking at a very expensive repair.

I did extensive research and talked to a few mechanics I was connected with, and was told that this should have been investigated before the part purchase and labor was executed.

I had to pay JUST to get my car out of there in the end.

Fast forward to my new automotive repair choice. Turns out there wasn't a new timing belt tensioner put in when the timing belt was replaced by Greiten's, nor was the tensioner mentioned. After getting a brand new head put on my engine, I noticed a rattling within weeks. My timing belt tensioner was the cause, apparently it was in pretty rough shape. Had to replace this AND put on a new timing belt (the previous new one was damaged). Fortunately I caught this before my brand new head was destroyed, and my warranty voided due to the tensioner.

Again, was told this should have been investigated earlier.

After the first mishap, I received a call asking how "things could be made right." Only one thing would make this right - $560 cash.

If it weren't a complete waste of time, I'd talk to a lawyer.

Don't go here if you drive anything that isn't domestic. That's all I can offer up. I don't know what the deal is, but I sense there wasn't very good communication at Greiten's and a lack of thoroughness.

I don't want to hear a sob story about how mechanics barely break even these days. If you don't make mistakes (or compensate for them), you earn loyal customers - that's how it works in any industry.

Now my car is finally running, but I am bitter and broke, feeling like several hundred dollars went down the tubes for absolutely nothing.
I'm just glad i found someone I can trust.

Greiten's Auto Service came very highly recommended when we moved into our Wauwatosa neighborhood, and we have never been disappointed with the service there. They have been our go-to mechanics for the past four years, and they are give good, honest service. If it ain't broke, they won't fix it!

I was disappointed with this place. I heard good reviews, so I decided to take a chance.

It took them a week to run a diagnostic on my computer and replace a sensor which amounted to probably around .8 hours of labor.

I had to wait a week because the wrong part was ordered.

Beyond this, I'm very glad I checked my coolant almost immediately because it was entirely gone. I still paid full price after all was said and done.

It is so very to find a good place to take your car. Even harder if you drive an international auto. If you own a VW or an Audi, consider someone who specializes if it is affordable.

I wouldn't take my car anywhere else but Greitens. Their first concern is always you and your wallet. If your car doesn't need something, they won't do it. My only problem is I want a new car - but they can keep even the oldest of clunkers running so well that I can't justify getting a new one.

Greiten's Automotive has been our mechanic for over 20 years. In all of that time, we have CONSISTENTLY received outstanding care, fair charges, and, importantly, wonderful diagnostic services on all of our vehicles.Greiten's works diligently to not only take care of any problems at hand, but also to provide preventative maintenance. With their check system, the entire car gets looked over every time it is serviced, often "catching" a minor problem before it becomes a major one. Over the years, this has saved us thousands of dollars and untold inconvenience. It has been a pleasure to refer dozens of friends and family members to Greitens over the years, knowing they will be treated to the same high quality service we have always gotten. It is without hesitation that I give Greiten's Automotive the highest possible rating... over two decades of exceptional care makes this recommendation an easy one!

Sixteen years and four (used until now)cars later, I am still going to Greiten's Service station on the corner of Bluemound and Hawley Roads in Milwaukee. They're the BEST! Reasonably priced, they stand behind their work, keep you informed of priorities of care for your car and don't perform unnecessary work to pad their bill like others may do. They are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable ... always have been and I wouldn't expect that to ever change. They have expected used cars for me before I purchased them. They have transported me to work when needed and picked me up again when my car was ready. When I purchased my last car from a dealer in Kenosha (45 min. from Milwaukee), Kevin drove me there for a test drive, to make sure I was treated well, then, followed me back to Milwaukee. How many service stations are going to spend that kind of time with you (on a miserable rainy night I may add)? And ... don't think for a minute that I'm a relative, although they do treat their customers just like family. With used cars in my past, I've had my share of things breaking down and, as a single woman, could always depend of Greiten's to handle whatever came my way. Now that I have a new car, I'm going to them for all my oil changes and warranty work because I want this one to last a long time and, like I mentioned, they're the BEST!

Recently,my '98 Buick was giving me fits by simply not starting numerous times, leaving me stranded for long periods of time before starting up. Not a reassuring feeling in the cold, late at night, and 30 miles from home. It wasn't the battery since everything else, such as the lights and the radio were working.I took the car into Kevin at Greitens and explained the problem, they checked it out immediately. The battery was checked,it was fine. the ignition was turned, and it started, and started, and started. Kevin asked me if I would like to leave the car overnight. I did. I was even given a ride home.Luckily, the ignition did not turn over the next morning,so the guys were able to diagnose the problem.Simply enough,I needed a starter. Kevin called me,gave me a choice of starters that I could purchase, recommended what he thought was best for a '98 Buick, and he gave me a quote of what the cost would be with labor. I agreed to his price, and had my car that very morning. It's been a good three month's now and the Buick has starting as if it where new, even in the very cold temperatures.I have taken my vehicles to Greitens for many years now, and have always been very satisfied with the prompt and quality work that has been performed on them, along with the friendly and forthright service to me.Nobody likes to have to pay automotive repair bills on their not so new cars, especially during these money tight times, but when the time comes for me to have something worked on,it's comforting to know that Kevin and the guys at Greitens will get me in promptly, tell me what the problem is,and with my OK, get the job done ASAP, and at a reasonable price. It's one less stress in my life to know that I have a great neighborhood auto repair shop that I can rely on,and I don't ever have to worry about who to call if something goes wrong with my car.The complimentary cookies and coffee doesn't hurt either!

I recently took my vehicle to Greitens auto service and had a terrible experience. I called first to ask what day i could bring my car in to be diagnosed and was told Monday morning. I brought it in at 11am and was told they couldn't get to it that day, (even though a diagnostic takes 20 minutes) so I brought it in Tuesday morning. After three hours Kevin called me and gave me an estimate of $300 to repair the 2 items (a thermostat and an oil switch), which included 2.5 hours labor. I looked up the codes and parts online and found that the parts cost $40 total (retail) and the labor for each is approx. 30 minutes each. When I mentioned my father is a mechanic in Michigan, Kevin promptly asked when I would be picking the car up. He immediately knew that I would not get my car repaired there due to his dishonesty and trying to overcharge me. He was very unfriendly when I came to pay for the overpriced $100 diagnostic and pick up my vehicle. On top of that, the written estimate didn't have the price for parts that I would incur and had a printout time of 2 hours before he called. Thank you, Greitens, for wasting my time and money, I feel cheated just for paying $100 to this shady repair shop.
