Middleton Donald K Md - Orthopaedic Consultants

Dr. Middleton has earned my respect in every way. He has excellent surgical skills, great bedside manor, and has been a great resource in the area of orthopedics. I know several of his patients and everyone has spoken highly of Dr. Middleton and done very well. My daughter has seen him for a fractured elbow, fractured forearm and scoliosis. In every instance, he has been caring, gentle and reassuring. That is great bedside manner when dealing with a 8-13 year old girl. A good friend of ours is an Orthopedic surgeon and says he is one of the best in the Milwaukee area and I believe him.

When I walk into Middleton's office, I always feel like I am merely the vehicle for an injured limb. His bedside manner is condescending, curt, and rushed, and my questions are never welcome. Middleton repaired my knee after an athletic injury a few years ago. Although it has since healed successfully, it took a second surgery to remove scar tissue that accumulated as a result of poor post-operative instructions. I find his skills mediocre and his bedside manner awful. I have since found a different surgeon.

Dr. Middleton was treating my husband for tennis elbow. Coincidentally, hubbie also had back surgery. He had been prescribed prescription NSAIDs for pain by another doctor. He was having serious problems with fatigue but thought it was related to the back surgery recovery. When he went in to see Middleton for a check-up on the elbow, Dr. M. immediately knew by looking at my husband that something was seriously wrong and directed him to the e.r. He was diagnosed with a very serious bleeding ulcer that Dr. Middleton had nothing to do with, but was the only one who noticed...

I have had several occasions for members of my family to see Dr Middleton. His skill is first class, but beyond that, he is one of the most compassionate and personable doctors I have ever dealt with. He treats his patients like people, and explains everything in terms you can understand. I would trust his opinion over any other orthopaedic doctor I have ever dealt with.
