AWFUL!! I Moved temporarily to Wiisconsin with my two beautiful Labs.. My chocolate Lab named bosco was ill with diebetes, epilepsy and blinded by diebetes. He was nine years old. I am moving to hawaii as my husband is a Doctor an OB/GYN Medical doctor in Honalulu. I knew it ws time to put Bosco to rest as he was so ill. I made the appointment with LAH as I was reffered by my neice. ( BIG MISTAKE ) Dr. John Cheslak was the attending physician. He came into the examaning room, Never acknowleges my beautiful boy by name name,Dr. his name was BOSCO!!!!! you never examined him but charged me 35.00. You never even put him on the examaning table to die with dignity, but left him on the floor and when you euthanised him he screamed in pain and looked like he was being electricuted. My Husband and I were in shock as we have put dogs down before and NEVER NEVER experienced so much trama as we did that day. How can you call yourself a vet, You have no passion. I am married to a Doctor, I know a Doctor should feel compassion for life. You I feel are not qaulified to treat any kind of animal, You do not have compassionate, but heartless. You should have your license revoked. You definetly are cold and heartless and my beautiful Bosco Remeber that name SUFFERED. LAH is a business with out heart I will make it a point to tell family and friends of my horrific experience.

I saw great reviews and got good price quotes, so I decided to switch vets and so I called a day ahead to set up an appointment to bring in my older cat because he seemed to have a sinus infection and to get my puppy some shots. The two pets have different last names because I had one for 16 years and one was shared with my boyfriend, so we used his last name for her, which is what I told the vet when I made the appointment. I got there for my 11AM appointment the next day about 10 minutes early since they closed at 12PM. It took about 20 minutes to check in, but I didn't mind because it was our very first visit at that animal hospital and also the receptionist was very nice. She did mention that there was only one animal scheduled for that appointment and I told her about the different last names and she said, "oh, that must be it". I figured that it wasn't a big deal then.
Once we got checked in, we went in back. The female vet came in, didn't bother to say much to us at all, just started slightly looking at my cat. She then said he was dehydrated and that I needed antibiotic drops, appetite enhancing pills, 3 cans of kidney enhancing food, and an IV that I needed to administer once a day. She recommended blood work, but I told her that I've already gotten it done and know that he is having a kidney problem. She started getting everything together right away before I barely got a word out. So, because I'm not a vet, I figured she knew what she was doing. She didn't tell me any side effects, anything to be cautious about, any extra information at all. Then she gave the two shots to the dog. Didn't check her for anything before. BOOM done with exam. It took about 10 minutes total to administer 2 shots to a dog, give me all this medicine, and do the first IV treatment on the cat. 10 minutes only. I found it a bit odd, but like I said, I'm not a vet. When it came to the total, not going to lie, it was a pretty good price, but I left with no information and couldn't ask any questions because the vet was basically pushing us out the door. Even the secretaries were wondering about some of the information that was on the write up.
As we were leaving, my best friend that came with me said that that visit was really cold, especially since she heard them talking about me behind the scenes! She said that while I was focused on my cat, she overheard the male vet saying to the female vet, "what do you mean two animals?! well you gotta work faster, gotta work faster". That makes sense because it only took 10 minutes!! I brought the animals home, did what the vet briefly said to do and later on that night, I found my cat...DEAD!!! That cat meant the world to me! We were treated as an inconvenience by no fault of our own!
At first I didn't blame them, I figured my cat was just old and didn't make it through it...but the more I sit and think about it, I think it was more negligence. How could the vet not see that my cat was going to die THAT DAY?! She said he was going to be fine. I called the next day they were open to see if I could get reimbursed for the medicine I bought and could not use. They said anything that wasn't liquid...so basically, the cheap stuff. I got a whopping $15 back for my cat to die. I asked if the owner could call me about possibly getting back my exam fee, not because he died but because I felt like they didn't do their job; pure negligence. I figured maybe he won't be able to reimburse the exam, but at least hear me out so he can see why his customer was upset, so I actually went in not expecting anything, but hoping for a refund. Good news, he called me back...bad news, this was the conversation, "Hi, is this Cassy in care of Taz?" "Yes, hi!" "Hi, I'm ****. I'm calling in regards to your request for an exam refund, which we're going to have to deny." I DIDN'T EVEN GET A CHANCE TO SAY ANYTHING TO HIM, HE ALREADY HAD HIS MIND MADE UP. Worst part is when I explained to him why I was so upset (even though he didn't care), he replied with, "I'm sorry that Taz died, but we are still going to have to deny you the refund." He's obviously not sorry. So now I'm mad and I said to him, "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to take my remaining two pets somewhere else" and all he said was, "That's fine".
He and the other vet do not care about your animals. Maybe I walked in on a bad day, but if you think of your pet as family like I do, don't let your pet die because of their bad day. The prices are cheap because the service is cheap! I highly recommend that no one takes their pets here! What a disgrace to the veterinary practice!

My parents have used this vet for YEARS! And now that my new husband and I have a puppy of our own we are taking him there as well. They are great. Love Dr.John! Haven't had the female vet though, so can't comment on that. They are so helpful. When our puppy got neutered there wasn't a cone at the pet stores that was big enough for him so they let us borrow a large one from them...no charge! They also matched the online price we found for Heartguard, which we thought was amazing. The only this is when we leave after an appointment we don't know when our puppy should come back. I have now found out that they will send out reminders in the mail which is so nice! But it would have been nice to have the front desk staff tell us that or what/when our new puppy would need to come back next.

We had to put our cat down. I was a wreck they treated her so kind and stayed with her when I couldn't. I don't think you could ask for a better place to take your animals they really care.

I must say the girls behind the front desk we very nice. I was treated well and they were busy ...

We have used LAH throughout the years... left for a very brief hiatus, and returned very quickly. Cannot complain about the cost, as they do not nickel and dime you like other places. Dr. Mark and Dr. John are definitely top-notch (not very big on Dr. Missy but she is competent). The other staff are good (you'll always have one or two people that are lacking anywhere you go). They take excellent care of their patients and make sure that you are fully educated on your pets particular needs.

I went to a vet nearby- cost lots of money for a problem with my dog. Had an 18 year old cat that was peeing in my house- took her in to see the vet and they wanted to put her on expensive anxiety meds and would not put her down( I was hoping it was a UTI)
I put my cat down & took my dog to Missy- we started him on a very a very inexpensive allergy med- no further issues with this.
Since then I have a new cat & same old dog and wouldn't go anywhere else.
They are awesome with the animals. They are also great with owners to make decisions in both their interests.

I researched everything I could about the Layton Animal Hospital and I was nervous about what I have read about the customer service. I thought everything was fine. Normal. friendly. everyone seemed happy to see my puppy. I liked the fact that the staff was calling me mama. And I do think of my puppy as a baby. In all I was very pleased. I got lots of information and coupons. I live half an hour from this place but its worth the drive. Also I couldn't find my drivers license for the check I wrote and they let me slide. Thought that was very nice.

All I can say about this vet is I love them. I have been taking my animals there since I was a child. I will never ever go anywhere else. The office staff are always helpful and very courteous. The prices are reasonable, again the vets know what they are talking about and they are caring and wonderful.

I have been going to Layton for 20 years now with 3 differnet cats. we had to have one of them put to sleep & they were very caring & kind. The house call sevice is a great plus. I deal mostly with Missy more than the other vets there, but when I have had to deal with the others they were equally caring.I would recommend them to any one who hs a pet.

After trying out a few vets in the area, I was lucky to find Layton Animal Hospital. There are three very caring vets that work there (though Dr. John & Dr. Mark are favorites). The location is excellent. Cozy and cute waiting room and exam rooms. They refer to Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center for more indepth services, such as cardiology.

Easy to get appointments, as there are four Vets. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Prices for exams, vaccines, etc. are reasonable. The exam rooms are set-up with the animal in mind, as well as their "person". My dog has been a patient since she was a puppy four years ago. I have been very happy with their services.

I just moved to town and had to get my two cats their rabies shots. They seemed to be the best price in the area. The vet was a bit odd, but I believe that he knew what he was talking about. Everyone who worked there was friendly. It was a good experience (compared to some other vets I've been to!!) I'll probably go back if something unfortunate comes up.

Layton Animal Hospital is staffed with very caring and giving veterinarians. Actually, the entire staff is great. We had to put our dog to sleep because of cancer and they made the process very easy. They ask little questions to take your mind off of it, and they allow you to be in the room if you would like. Their other services are great too. They really know what they are doing, and it's also not a huge amount of money.

Easy to make appointments and they don't really take a lot of time, either.
