I went because of the hype but there was nothing to brag about here and I'm honest in all my reviews.

It was very busy, even on a weeknight. My dining companion had never had Chinese dumplings before so I recommend we try them here (I love GOOD Chinese) but when they arrived, my jaw dropped at the ridiculously small portion and small size of them you get. Don't get me wrong, the flavor dances in your mouth but for the price?? Not ever again. They have a nice touch here where they bring you 3 different sauces and even combine them all in one. Like a hot chili sauce, wasabi type and a soy type. They were very flavorful when combined but not hot at all (not me at least).

We ordered the General Tso's and Sesame chicken. I love General chicken and this place did it pretty well but I've had much better and it wasn't as pricey. The Sesame was disgusting. The flavor in every single bite had a cellophane taste to it. She didn't like it (neither did I) so I gave her my General and I ate her hardly touched Sesame chicken. The portion wasn't large but it's enough. You don't get a lot of rice either.

Service was very good however and she treated us like we belonged. That's a plus right there.....

My opinion is this place is OK and not at all legendary. I understand it's a spin on tradition but I'll stick to the traditional fare at REAL Chinese joints. Some to try if you haven't already are Golden Gate (Waukesha), Fortune (the Hales Corners location), China Dragon (New Berlin) Asia (New Berlin) Kim's Garden (Waukesha) and Fong's Garden in Oconomowoc. Much better than Chang's any day of the week and it's authentic too.

Cons--Price and the taste isn't legendary at all
Pros--Service and good food that won't disappoint but don't get your hopes up.

I am amazed that this place is as busy as it is. The food here is really very mediocre. Service at lunch was terrible. The waiter was slow and brought our entree only moments after serving the appetizer.

There were three of us at the table and I noticed that all of our entrees had overly dark appearances which indicates an over abundance of soy sauce. The over arching taste taste was of the salt from too much soy on all three dishes.

I am just amazed that this place is busy - the food is very, very average - no better than you would get at the drive thru at Wong's Wok. Service is poor. Costs are high. Lunch, with shared appetizer, and soft drinks was $66 without tip. The dining room is also very loud.

There are several good Chinese restaurants with in a few miles of here that cost half of this price and are at least twice as good. There must be a reason the place was 2/3 full for lunch - but it is not for the food or the service. Its a write off for me.

Pros: Quick seating for lunch. Tasty iced tea

Cons: Price, too much soy sauce, slow and disorganized service staff, mall parking

Been here several times due to its location, and it makes for a great dinner choice, though I have often stopped in for an appetizer and drink. Drinks are superb, and the flavor of the menu items is robust. I do also enjoy being able to ratchet up the spices on these, as WI is uncommon for spicy food.

What sets the final star for me is the service. Never had a problem with the service, and have had times where I wish to write the management to commend the service. One main example, I arrived and ordered both of our drinks and an appetizer while waiting for my wife. She was delayed in snow, and when she did arrive, the server remade her drink, and brought a fresh batch of appetizers out (I had since eaten them), all at no added cost. Superior example of service.

I know this is a chain but now that I've moved to Milwaukee I've never seen it so packed. The waiters are amazing, and their very friendly. I've never been there when I didn't need a reservation. OH and try the 6 layer chocolate cake, I like to call it the Chocalate Wall of Death. But's it OH SO GOOD!

Pf Chang's is an upscale Chinese restaurant. It is quite a bit pricier than your normal Chinese restaurant. However, the food is much better. Although, I don't think you get more food for the money. The atmosphere is different, as well. They have a bar and the lights are dim.

This chain may have some different ambience going for it, but it takes itself too seriously. After the meal, I was wondering why anyone would come to this place more than once. The bill was well more than the experience was worth to myself and my companion. The appetizers were decent, but the entrees were not very good at all. The whole place was noisy, so it was very unromantic despite the lighting to the contrary.
