I just took my dog in to Dr Wickman for a check up and shots. He spent a lot of time with me and answered all of my questions. He showed a lot of love and care with my pup. A wonderful vet! I will be taking my cats in for a check up and dental soon. Dr Wickman is a great vet!

In mid-June 2012 Dr. Stevens retired from Care Hospital for Animals and the clinic was bought by Dr. Lowell Wickman. He is a compassionate veterinarian that provides quality care at an affordable price. Stop in and meet him and his staff!

The regular staff is great, the prices are good, but the vet, Dr. Stevens, is extremely condescending and doesn't seem up to date on current veterinary practices. In my experience, if you question his practices or ask legitimate questions, he treats you like you're stupid and ill-informed. The straw that broke the camel's back was the day he had the nerve to imply that I didn't love my dog because I didn't want to blindly vaccinate without first checking to see if she actually needed vaccinations by running a titer test--which is very common in veterinary practices, but most vets won't offer them unless you ask because they're more expensive than vaccinations.

Any other questions asked of him were also answered with much derision and condescension.

Let me start off by saying I had saved an abandoned cat two years ago and I had taken it in to make sure the cat was healthy and as it turned out it seemed to be just fine. Then recently I had noticed my cat starting to lose a lot of weight within a matter of a week so I had taken it in to get him checked out. Now when Dr. Stevens asked me the symptoms that my cat was having he called me a liar! He had the nerve to ask if I was even feeding my cat and saying it was impossible for my cat to lose that much weight that fast even though my cat had been small to begin with. Then he went to go do some blood work and we found out my cat had leukemia and that's why it lost so much weight and I didn't even get an apology. He was just an a** about the whole thing.

I took my cat to get front declawed and a few days after he was home he stopped walking on one of his paws. I looked at it closely and there was still a claw in his toe and it was pointed to his side not out front like they normally are!

Pros: cheap

Cons: poor care

I have been bringing all my dogs (5 total) for 17 years. The all around service couldn't be better. You will not find a more loving vet than Dr. Stevens. If you want the best for your animals bring them to him.

Dr. Stevens and his staff have been taking care of our five animals for over a year now and I wouldn't take them anywhere else.

I've never been stupid enough to try taking a baby to the vet with me, so I have had no bad experiences with staff.

They all know our animals and genuinely care about them.
They give great surgical care before, during and after. They are very helpful when we call with questions or concerns and truly seem excited to see us when we come to visit.

Great job care Hospital for Animals!

Ignore Tiffany A. She's obviously someone who can never be pleased!

We were new to the area, and we had to set up veterinary care for our 4 pets. We were to referred to Care Hospital for Animals and have not regretted our decision. For the most part our pets are healthy and unremarkable, but 2 of them recently developed health issues and Dr. Stevens and his staff were very supportive and thorough during the process of diagnosing them. One of our pets is now doing wonderful again. The other, unfortunately, did not recover and the staff at Care Hospital for Animals was very good about giving us the information we needed to make the sad decision to put her to sleep, and then supporting us in that decision. I am also very impressed with how their office is so organized and well-run. I find their prices fair and competitive, and always feel welcome when I come in. I recommend them highly.

I had to bring my brother's dog to this vet for her shots. I brought my toddler with me to the appointment. I arrived to find it very handicap unfriendly. As I was pushing a stroller and had a puppy on a leash, it was very difficult to maneuver up the stairs and through the two very heavy doors. There were three employees watching me struggle and none even offered to hold the doors for me. I was checked in with very few words. They reluctantly gave me a handwritten price list when I inquired as to possibly bringing my own animals there. When I got in to see the vet, he barely even touched the dog to examine her. He simply stuck the needle in and said goodbye. I wasn't able to ask any questions of him. The price was cheaper than all but one vet clinic in the area, probably due to the impersonal attitude of the vet as well as the other employees. I care about my animals too much to subject them to this clinic.

PROS: They have reasonable prices
CONS: Not very personable, didn't seem to care about the animals
