I do love going to this theatre more so than to a Marcus theatre. Marcus keeps building these huge, elaborite theatres and, while nice, the movie goer pays in the ticket and concession prices. And they're constantly upgrading older theatres and the same goes for them. I've been going to Showtime for a few years now, even more so now that I live 5 minutes away. It is a nice little theatre! Never over crowded, easy to get in to see a flick, about $2 cheaper for a movie ticket over Marcus, nice atmosphere and no complaints about the employees. One thing I would disagree on that someone said below, and this is just my personal experience, it seems as if though every time I go there as of late there is a problem running the movie I came to see. So far it's been: sound but no picture, picture but no sound, movie starts and lights fail to dim, late start (not more than 5 minutes), bad audio, or only 1/2 the picture in on the screen. Now these are all simple fixes, but it also seems as if I've been the only one getting my butt up from my seat and going out to find someone to complain to. May just be my luck I suppose, but I'm glad to know that as a former theatre employee (for Marcus HAHA) that these things do not fix themselves people! Label me the spokesperson for the theatre patrons I guess! Anyway, besides those little hiccups I like going there. Lots of leg room and reclining seats are always an awesome thing. Go check it out! And if I'm not there to complain about something, get up and do it yourself!

We did a birthday party here for my son in first grade and his friends. The theater is fine. But the service is not! We didn't get one lick of help from the people here until after I commented on it. And, then, they didn't even have the courtesy to reserve seats for us. Thank goodness there was still one row open! It was almost too much to ask to have them bring pitchers in so the kids didn't have to keep leaving the room and going to the concessions counter! I called to make certain about things and I even went to check the place out the day before! I would not recommend this theater for any birthday party unless you make certain the place has someone in there to help!

It is clear that cinemas are tough to do well. Here in the Milwaukee area, Marcus has decimated almost any other chain that's challenged them. Marcus is generally a pretentious, overpriced chain that is staffed by kids. Especially with Ridge and South Shore in relatively near proximity, I never would have expected Showtime to succeed, but it has, and it does.

Showtime isn't pretentious, and lacks all the fanciness of a Marcus (a player piano with a sign soliciting a pianist? I don't want to be paying for that when I see a movie!) Showtime hasn't gone to any extremes to be "fun", either (unlike the Cinemark black and white checkerboard, etc). They've focused on providing a useful, quality experience at a reasonable price, and they've hit a home run.

Starting at the entrance, there are huge electronic signs that advertise the movies showing, and the start times. Above the doors, instead of a "marquee". Bright and readable from a distance. None of this accident-inviting stuff where Marcus puts movie posters with times along the entire front of the building, encouraging drivers to drive slowly along the front of the theater to find their movie and times. Someone at Showtime has obviously had the experience of going to a theater without knowing the shows or times in advance, and they figured out something that works.

The ticket booth is efficient, though occasionally a short line forms. Management seems to pay attention and someone else magically appears if the condition lasts for any length of time.

The lobby is large and inviting, relatively spartan while not being plain. A small game area has games that are not out-of-order. A small cafe area has a TV and clean tables.

A large concession stand has all the typical stuff. Concession prices are not great, but generally the same or better than Marcus. One odd thing is that they charge a quarter for refills of large soda or popcorn. I'm all for that, if it lets them charge less.

The theaters are clean, neat, and maintained well. The seats are not as nice as some of the newer Marcus theaters, but are plenty comfortable, with decent cupholders, etc.

There aren't as many screens as there are at Ridge, which means that the selection of shows isn't always as great as you'd like, but on the flip side, I rarely see glitches at Showtime. Marcus theaters tend to be a comedy of errors, ranging from nobody-started-the-movie to the-sound-was-broken, etc. Movies start on time, and have some minor local advertising slides and trivia running beforehand.

Overall, I don't want fancy, or pretentious. I want reasonable prices, a comfortable seat, and a competent showing. Showtime has the best track record of providing all of that, which is why we're loyal customers.

I love to go to Showtime -- plus it's only about 10 minutes from my house. It's nice to see an independent theatre make it around here when everything is so controlled by Marcus. Showtime is clean, has good prices, and (a big plus in my book) serves Coke and not Pepsi. I hope everyone will support this place!

This is a good, clean, decently priced theater. Even their concessions aren't that over priced. I also love the fact that they offer free showings of kids movie's twice a week all summer long.

We love going to this movie theater. It's always extremely clean, seating is comfortable, they have a wide variety of movies to choose from and the theater is never overcrowded like some others around the area.

This is a wonderful movie theater. All of the screens have stadium seating and the seats are very comfortable. The theaters are spacious, the concession stand is average sized and a bit expensive for a large movie theater, but we always enjoy our experience there.

Let me tell you about this gem of a theater that I go to. Showtime Cinema in Franklin offers so much. The ticket prices are cheaper than anywhere else I would see movies, the staff is always pleasant and attentive to your needs and the theaters are always clean. I live in Wauskesha, but today I will drive out of my way just to see a movie at Showtime. The reason behind it is that the movie "Grindhouse," a wildly new double feature I saw last week has now been split into two separate movie. This was not the way I want to see the movie when I see if for the second time, but that is how you have to see it now if you try to go to any of the Marcus Theaters. To my delight it is still playing as one whole movie at Showtime and that is just one of the many reasons, as a movie fanatic, that I will keep going back there. I appreciate this very much, not that is was done just for me, but that it kept a great movie together and now fans won't have to pay twice to see both flicks. I love Showtime Cinema and I tell everyone. I go to a movie every single Friday and we always go to Showtime. Thanks for letting me talk up the greatest theater experience Wisconsin has going.

Pros: Hot Dogs(I know that sound weird) Parking is great. Staff is friendly. Ticket prices are low.

Cons: None that I can see.

I am so glad that there never are long lines to deal with, and it is slightly cheaper than its nearest competitor, the Marcus Theatres. The concessions are always good and fast and it's not a project to go to this theatre. The seats are another story, they are AWESOME! They are taller and recline somewhat. The clientele of this theatre is nice and the game room is well-stocked and affordably priced. For a good time, take your family to this little-known gem of a theatre! Now all they have to do is build some restaurants in the area and they'll REALLY be talking! Happy movie watching!

Our family used to go to the 13th and College Marcus theatre and its so yukky compared to this one in Franklin. WE never have to wait and always get right in even on the busy days or new premieres. They are very polite out there and go the extra mile if you need help. Its nice and easy to park as well, never have to be too far from the door and always easy access. We find the people out there seem much more courteous overall and its a great place to take your family.
