For groceries in Reedsburg it is this place or Viking Village, or you can stop at Wal-Mart. I shop all three, but Village Market excels on three points:

1) Sale price. If you are buying stuff that's not on sale, like bread, Wal-Mart usually wins. But if you buy what's in the weekly circular, Village Market will have things for up to a dollar less than the lowest Wal-Mart rollbacks. Viking usually has a thing or two in their circular that makes you want to stop by, but Village Market's sale prices set my menu for the whole week. TV dinners, cereal, fruit, everything goes on sale.

2) Friendly. The managers (especially Craig) know your name and say hi, and the cashiers remember whether you pay with credit card or get a discount.

3) Produce. Viking has a bigger variety, but Village Market has misters to keep the produce fresh. At Viking sometimes produce goes on sale and I go home with none because it just wasn't good enough.

Tips: Village Market offers their 5% employee discount to employees of some local businesses, like Pace. Nice if you can get it.

The Bakery here at the Viking Grocery store is the largest in the area and carries a great amount of ready made bakery treats. They have a super huge doughnut case that seems to be overflowing every morning. Everything inside is super yummy and there are many different items to choose from.
There cakes are super delicious and I would recommend this place for you next event cake need. We had my husbands 50th birthday cake done here and everyone enjoyed it. Their butter cream is amazing!
