Absolutely terrible. I joined the gym in January and cancelled in March due to moving to a different city. It is now June and I am still being billed for it. I called them up and they claim to have never received my cancellation letter therefore they can not cancel my account. The employees there say they can't cancel it. Customer service says they can't. The fact that you need to mail in a cancellation notice is simply beyond stupid. This gym would get negative stars from me if I could for the fact that they continue to lie and keep charging my account every month. I was going to join the one that just opened up where I live now but after dealing with this bullcrap I have no desire to ever step foot in to another golds gym ever. There are plenty of other great gyms out there who won't make you jump through hoops to cancel then lie about not receiving cancellation letters.

The locker rooms are way to small for the number of members that they have. Now that the pool is opening This is going to be even more of a problem.

The new golds gym on Wisconsin ave is a joke!!!! What a crock, you get what you pay for. No room in the locker rooms, to sinks to accomodate 1,000 people. And a pool that still doesnt work. I hate it there and most of the people that have talked to me also hate it but people will pay the 10 bucks a month. I nominate them as the worst Golds Gym in the country

Finally, Appleton has a world class facility that it can be proud of. I have worked out at other Gold's Gyms in the state (Fitchburg, Eau Clair) and finally Appleton has one that is comparable. It's been long over due.

I love this place! Great energy, great classes, the pool is fantastic! Last night I watched a movie for 2 hours while walking on a treadmill in the movie theater. Where else am I gonna do that?!

Golds Gym Appleton is the way of the past. It no longer carries any weight with its name changing itself from a gym to a fitness center. The only goals you can accomplish there is to lose weight. Golds Gym tries to get you in for 10 bucks a month on old worn down mixed matched equipment with a small facility and everything is jammed packed real tight where you are literally touching the person next to you. Then they practically force you into signing up for 1 to 2 thousand dollars worth of personal training and harass you until you fold. If you try to talk to management or the owners be prepared for offensives arrogance and over the top rudeness. If you try and cancel your membership, they will continue to charge you and tell you that you need to contact abc financial who does all of their billing. Abc will then tell you that you need to contact golds gym and back and forth it will go until you have a nervous breakdown. The daycare was 2 hours and now it is 1 and 1/2 hours and you are charged $5 per kid when you are late and they will charge you without telling you. Their staff tapes the time you came in onto your children. Their staff is constantly changing as nobody ever works there for more than 2 months for the past 7 years with an exception of management. It is very disappointing to write this as a loyal gym goer but their business practices must be brought to the attention of future prospects so they know what to expect. I was recently told that after being a member for over a decade i had to leave unless i lied to the public and pledged that Golds Gym was the greatest gym, and i cannot do that. The YMCA in Neenah is what a weight room was meant to be, i will be going there. PRETTY UNREAL that the YMCA has more of a Golds Gym mentality than Golds itself.
