This used to be a better option. More often then not I look and leave on my last couple of visits. Obviously at an outlet, selection varies but the scratch and dents are getting worse and the prices higher. When one considers that a regular retailer will usually throw in free delivery and take away -- well, their prices are no better then sale prices and the merchandise is often significantly damaged. Still, I check it out and occasionally find a bargain -- but it's more miss then hit.

My husband and I purchased a new washer and dryer from the Sears Outlet two years ago. We haven't had any problems with either appliance. The "scratches" were merely scuffs that I was able to clean off once the appliances were delivered. We saved a lot of money and plan to buy all our new kitchen appliances there this year.

I purchased a refrigerator at the outlet store on Mayfair Road. After the men delivered it I put all my food in the freezer and refrigerator. The refrig never got cold and I lost all my food. That was a couple of hundred of dollars worth. I called the outlet to tell them the refrig was not working. They said that was not there problem to call the 800 number. After talking to a lot of machines I got a sales person out who said the refig was not working. How come they can sell a product that has not been check over. I got a lot of hassals and finally the product was removed from my house. But I did not get reimbursed for any lost food which cost me hundreds of dollars.

waiting for a second replacement! Our first gas range was installed and immediately caused a major gas leak..I was coming home from delivering my baby and had to sit in the car outside while the gas company made sure everything was OK. Sears sent a repairman who assumed I was wrong in thinking it was the stove. He tightened a valve and said it was fine even though the gas company said it was from within the stove. The repairman then said it was from our hose line and he was not responsible even after I told him the gas company said it was not from the gas-line. The repairman turned on the gas line to the stove and said it was fine, he then left. A few minutes later my explosive gas alarm went crazy! Once again me and my newborn were left outside in January. I called to complain and they sent out another repairman later that week...it was the same guy after I requested he not come. This time he listened and said that it was the stove and it was unfix-able. they offered me a new stove but said it would be extra to deliver and pick up the old stove so we had to borrow a trailer. We went to the store to swap and the manager said he had no idea about it and told us to come back when the other manager was there! I called and complained and finally they agreed to free delivery. I was lucky enough to have an electric hook up as well as gas I told them I didn't feel safe with a gas stove anymore and we got an electric flat top stove and paid the difference in cost. I was so happy to have a working stove...I used it that night and can you believe when I turned it off the back left burner would not turn off! Because I could not move the stove myself after having my baby recently I had to call my husband to come home from work to unplug the stove for me!! We could had a fire!! Now I cannot use that burner and am waiting for a repairman again! I am asking for a refund and going to a regular store! Buyer beware!!!

OK so you get a scratch or a small dent on something, my kids would do that anyway - why pay the high retail prices for the same thing. I have purchased a fridge and a washer from here - love them both - never had any issues with either piece - and by the way I saved over $1000 by going here.

We have been buying from Sears outlet stores for over 40 years and I would never dream of buying anywhere else. We recently bought a refrigerator from the Mayfair Road outlet store and got it for almost 75% off retail. Got full warranty and it was brand new in the box. They delivered (an extra fee), hooked it up, tested it and even took the old one out and put it in the garage for us. Maybe the other reviewers thought they were in a regular Sears store? If the scratch or dent doesn't show, who cares. If it matters, then go to a regular store and pay the full price.

I can not believe this is happening to me. I purchased pedistals for my washer and dryer at the outlet and when the Sears Store came out to deliver and install the washer and dryer I bought from them, we discovered that the outlet sold me the products without the attachments. I then had to go back to the outlet and ask for them. They were not even sure if they could get them but they said they would order them and they would be in around seven to ten days. I did not hear from them so I stopped back in and discovered that they were never ordered. I finally received the shippment via UPS directly to my home and called the 1800 number to call for them to come out and install washer and dryer on the pedistals. After making the appointment, I checked in the box and now have discovered that they only sent me one set!!! So, I am back to square one and need another set. Meanwhile, Sears is supposed to be here on Friday and it is Wednesday!
My suggestion to anyone that is going to purchase there, check, check and double check everything. Some employees working there obviously do not know what attachments go with what and will sell you the items without telling you.

I moved here from Washington. I bought all my major appliances for my remodel through a Sears outlet. Was extremely pleased with my purchases.

So naturally I would seek out another Sears outlet when I moved here. Boy what a difference.
I have visited the store 4 times and each time I have walked away without purchasing. The prices were outrageous. Terribly overpriced. I went elsewhere and received a much better product at an even better price.

You have lost my business for good...unless of course I move back to Washington State.

I just purchased a fridge from this location. I received $350 off the retail price... but realistically I saved about $200-$250. The fridge has one dent on the right hand side, but that is facing a wall so I don't care. Fridge was supposed to include an ice bucket, but was delivered without one. Went back to store, and the salesman provided me the only one they had on hand. Of course the bucket he provided just barely fits in the freezer, and is clearly not the one that comes with the fridge. I am inclined to go to another area outlet store and exchange the bucket for the correct one. Overall I am happy with the fridge. Of course my wife complains that it's not as big as our old fridge... but for $450, it's a huge improvement over our old dingy fridge. We could have gotten a bigger discount on a more expensive fridge, but I couldn't rationalize spending over $1000 on a fridge.

Other reviewer must be at the wrong store. We bought a Maytag 27cu/ft fridge for about 50% off, two small dents in the front door - we covered them with fridge magnets.

Washers are about 30% off and matching dryer sale for 50% off.
We're waiting for a certain model.

Exactly what I just said. Overpriced.

You would think that a scratch and dent place would offer you prices that were scratched off too. Not here. Oh, the savings might be a little, such as 5 or 10% but no real savings. Matter of fact, the sales flyer prices can be cheaper.

So why buy a banged up model when you can wait to get it on sale for less than the banged up price?

Seems awful senseless to me.
