Gorgeous location, yummy food, smiling staff, spacious deck overlooking the harbor and Lake Michigan, close to everything, and great artwork by local artists that you can buy right off the wall! Definitely a must-stop!

Great location and fun in the warmer weather because you can sit outside. Not many places in this area to sit outside. The drinks are good and good variety. The food is good but mainly enjoy the muffins. There aren't enough places like this so I am glad it is convenient and on a main road. The prices are reasonable and it's not a chain. Nice atmosphere and great building. I like the coffee alternatives

Common Grounds is and has always been a haven for all walks of life. The city this establishment resides in can be a very close-minded space, lacking in culture and an un-discriminatory community. though downtown kenosha has recently begun to take steps to make positive changes, common grounds has been doing so for quite some time. The "family" of employees that fill the spot make all of the difference in the world. It's obvious the owner carefully selects her staff to keep the environment as it is. i've spent hours upon hours in there socializing, studying, reading, playing games- and the longer you stay there, the more you recognize how many people in the city consider this cozy spot their home. When the employees have their regulars' customized drinks and food started before they even reach the register, you can see the appreciation in their exchange. There are very few places in this city groups of cyclists, bikers, fishermen, students, white and blue collared workers, families, artists, musicians, people of all sexual orientation, race, and age come together to laugh and share a common space. This place is one of the most powerful displays of community I've seen in this city. Oh, and the monthly specialty espresso drinks are yummy!

Great coffee, variety of drinks, soup, sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches. Friendly employees - a place where they get to really know their customers.

The harbor view is fantastic from inside or outside on their decks!

A place to visit with friends or just enjoy reading. Great hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

I am tired of people who are complaining over lack of WI FI service. I am a customer of 10 years here and am happy to know and support that there is no WI FI service at this coffee shop. More importantly I support this business owners decision to not make this service available. Do you realize how many people would come in and buy one item and sit FOR HOURS on their computers. No room for those that would like to visit and spend our dollars for a local business owner to prosper. How do you expect a local business owner to support that concept of not earning any $$. How about this - try this challenge - leave your computer and cell phones in the car - then relax, enjoy a conversation with someone, enjoy a drink or some food without being a technology junkie.

For a change enjoy the view and relax. If this place doesn't work for you, don't complain about it, just embrace the others that offer the service you demand.

"Feet off the furniture! This is a restaurant!" - the Coffee Nazi, to recalcitrant patrons whose postures are a bit too relaxed.

But screaming children, roaring motorcycles, amply-tattooed staff with trailer-park attitude, rickety furniture, unmaintained restrooms - these escape the wrath of the ever-vigilant proprietor.

Avoid.

PROS: Location.
CONS: All the above and more.

A good location - otherwise, look elsewhere for a pleasant, relaxing experience. The place is overrun by motorcyclists who roar in and out, and by screaming, running children with uncomprehending/uncaring mothers. The staff seems to be occupied with frequent cigarette breaks (ugh) and with their own personal one-on-one conversations. With all the really pleasant coffee bars in Kenosha (often populated, I've noticed, with expatriates from this place), there's no need to suffer at the (tobacco-stained) hands of the rather-common Common Grounders.

Pros: A view of Kenosha Harbor.

Cons: Poor service, attitude, lavatory maintenance

This is a great place to have lunch, catch up with a friend, study or just people watch. The food is great and the price is reasonable. Located right on the lake makes this place a main attraction in Kenosha.
