Pleasant Valley Inn has become a favorite place for special dinners out. It's located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is not too large. We have always had reservations, but it has never been overcrowded. While the wine list is not extensive, they have several quite nice vintages. The menu offers variety - steak, seafood, chicken, etc. The entrees are excellent, as are the soups and salads. I have never had room for dessert, but I am sure it would be equally good. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, and the decor attractive.

Most Milwaukeeans don't know about Pleasant Valley Inn, but it's certainly a nice place to celebrate an anniversary or promotion. It's cozy and quiet; ask for a table by the fireplace if you go. The food is always delicious and the staff is professional. One attraction is the variety of selections, especially the number of fish specials. Go early and sit in the bar to enjoy a glass of wine or scotch. Once you find it, you'll see why it's known as a getaway right in the heart of the city.
