Service begins upon entering a restaurant. We were ignored at the bar and waited an hour beyond our reservation time to be seated. They offered no apologies, only excuses. Being treated as though we are of no consequence creates an environment that made our dinning experience less than enjoyable. Our table was ready as soon as I told them we were leaving. It will be a long time before we return.

The steak use to be fab...
Now the food, atmosphere and service has declined.
They no longer know how to cook a steak. I usually order it Rare to MR and get it Medium to Med well.
Make a reservation and wait for an hour later to sit.
Always over book. The Butler Inn business has gone done since I first started there.
Way to expensive for the lousy food you get!!
Just my thoughts, be your own judge!

We wnet on a not very busy friday. we were told there was a five minute wait while they were bussing tables. We waited over 25 minutes and could see several empty tables from the bar. Bartending service was poor. I sat there with an empty glass almost ten minutes while the bartenders talked amongst themselves. They seemed inconvienced by having to pour me another beer. When we were finally seated i ordered the perch and clam chowder. I took 2 bites of the clam chowder and pushed it away. It had an awful fishy taste, not how chowder is supposed to taste. The fish was pretty average and not very hot when served. If we did not have a gift certificate we would not have eaten here, but we will definitely not be returning.

Made reservations for New Year's Eve. Big mistake. I'm not sure why they take reservations. We were told our table would be ready in 20 min. The place was a zoo. The hostess was screaming into her microphone to announce names. It was so crowded that I'm sure it was in violation of fire codes. Had I known they were 2 hours off schedule by their 6 o'clock reservation, we would have left. I understand that overbooking is a common practice for this restaurant. I think the management needs to look up the definition of "RESERVATION" . Although the food was good, the steak "great", I will never go back and never recommend this place to anyone. We have a lot of good places to eat in the surrounding area. In todays economy I would rather spend my money at a restaurant that has better customer service.

My family went here for an anniversary. The food is fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned, decorated plates, friendly staff. Didn't pick up dirty dishes from plate for quite a while. Had NY Strip. MMmmmm I'm still drooling. be sure to try the Saganaki flaming cheese for an appetizer.
The "decor" of the restaurant could sure be updated. Most stuff looks to be from the 1980s. It could be "THE PLACE" in Waukesha County if it rennovated a bit.
They also have a live piano player some nights. It is super loud when you're in the bar area, but definately great. He even takes requests (for tips) :)
We had a great time. But, they should remodel and advertise a bit more!

This is the place to go if you know and love steak. They have the best damn prime rib around. Rumor has it this steak is slow cooked starting at about 2am and by the time it hits your plate...oh man, to die for!! The best part about it? For only 2 dollars more it's ALL YOU CAN EAT!!! What can be better I ask you? Nothing short of a free trip to Vegas. Five stars, two thumbs up. Well done!

The Butler Inn has the best fish fry in the lake county area. The breaded cod is a great buy for the amount of food you get. The baked cod is a huge piece, large enough for two people, or one hungry teenager.

Good service and great food are hallmarks here. I highly recommend the traditional Friday night fish fry, but come early to get a table. This restaurant will fill up quickly.

Great place to get together with friends for a good night out. We usually start with margaritas, have dinner (the friday fish fry is highly recomended) then head to the bar for a few more coctails and conversation.

I recently dined at the Butler Inn of Pewaukee and I must say, it's definitely a 5-star establishment. My fiancee and I sat out on the patio (in our own private gazebo) and our experience was memorable. We started our dinner with the Saganaki and Calamari, and I must say, they are both excellent additions to the menu. Of course, we continued with the Louie's 5-star filet, accompanied by a succulent lobster tail, and yet again, we were impressed by the flavor and quality of the dishes. Additionally, they offer an affordable reserve wine list to accompany the diverse selections on the menu. The service was impeccable- as always, I was and continue to be impressed by the Butler Inn. It's by far my favorite place in Wisconsin!!!!

We eat at the Butler Inn frequently and have always had exceptional service and outstanding food. "Louie's Signature Filet" is great and so are the fish frys. The specials during the week are also wonderful. The restaurant is all non-smoking on the week-ends which is a plus. The "Saganaki" or flaming Greek cheese is a real treat and always served with a flourish. Their soups and clam chowder are exceptional. The food is consistently high quality. We have taken many friends and family members there in both small and large groups and we have never been disappointed

Recently I visited this establishment and was not impressed at all. Sitting at the bar listening to the staff argue about restaurant policy and using vulgar language was not my idea of a fun Sunday afternoon. I thought the level of service was less than adequate and the food was mediocre. Having visited the restaurant a few times in the past it certainly has changed for the worse. I took the time to call the owner and personally explain my complaints. I can tell were the staff gets it customer focus from. I thought at least some gesture of compensation would be made all I got was Ill talk to the staff. Taking time out for a customer to call and write this says a lot. Explains to me why on a Sunday afternoon at dinner time and the place is less than 25% full. I will never go back!

I have been to this restaurant MANY times over the last five years and would have to say that it has gotten progressively worse to the point that I will no longer even go. The food is now only average at best and the service is horrilbe! On our last visit the lettuce in the salad was brown, wilted and disgusting. I then had to wait 15 minutes for our waitress to return before I was offered a new salad, which I declined, since our waitress was carrying our dinners. The steaks were NOT the same quality that they once were. My wife's baked potatoe was served with a small cup of Mayonaise mistaken for sour cream!!! VERY POOR RESTAURANT

We had reservations for 7:30 and weren't seated untill after 9:00. No appologies, just excuses and an onion ring appetizer. When we asked to speak to a manager no one ever came to speak with us. We finally setteled for a table in smoking and it was so jammed in the corner I had to climb over 2 chairs to get to my seat. We asked for a different table and were given one(begrudgingly)but by that time they could have had the best food in the world and it wouldn't have mattered. Never Again.

I moved up here from tennessee and this place was one of the first steakhouses I went to and I go back as often as I can. Never have I had a bad experience, great service and I love the patio in the summer. Try this one out you'll love it.
