Those who don't think Tyrol is a great place are clowns. Yes, it's small, but I feel it offers much more than other, bigger places such as Cascade and Devils Head. I just got back from Colorado, and haven't been able to find the challenges I need, except for at Tyrol. The runs are short, but sweet, and challenges are everywhere to be had. Those who don't have fun here, would complain anywhere. Two thumbs up!!

We had a reunion in June there. It was the off season so we did not ski, etc. We had a blast. The people were nice. The food was fantastic. I think the waiters had fun with our games and won stuff, too.hee

When we moved to this part of the state, we both were skiers so we headed to Tyrol quite quickly. We found the skiing to be challenging enough for my ability but not for my husband. Altogether, we probably went there 4 - 5 times over the years we skiied. However, while I was teaching in the area, we took a HS class on a field trip there. It was perfect for this purpose as many of them were beginners. The staff was great with the kids and it was a great experience for them.

I am a big fan of skiing and I like to ski here because it's not too busy and yet not too small. A definitely family place and for those who want to have a small break from school. A good place to go if you like half-pipes, terrain parks, moguls, and/or jumps. Can also be good for just fast skiing too. Only like $32 for a 10 or 12 hour pass! One caution note though, is that there are many inexperienced skiiers and snowboarders, so you need to watch out a lot.GO with your friends and show them your skiing skills.

Tyrol Basin is very well marked and signs point the way there. However, it is a curvy road to get there and I always wonder if we've missed it since it seems like a long drive with the curves. There are many parking lots here and when they are busy, it almost doesn't seem like they have enough, as you can drive for quite a while looking for one.

They have skiing and snowboarding hills. They make their own snow, so watch the ski reports to info when they are open and ready. Fun to watch is an ice sculpting contest they have on the grounds once a year.

They also have banquet and reception facilities which are good sized, but very dark decor inside.
