We had an emergency and since St Paul Vet had great hours and walk-in service, I brought in my dog in who had signs distress. After signing the payment forms to ok the costs of the x-rays (you have to do this before they do anything common practice I guess but it gets worse) They confirmed that he needed surgery and that he needs surgery now. But first here is the cost, 1200 to 1800. Reasonable I admit but again, they need payment BEFORE the surgary can be done. Since I don't use credit cards and I would have to transfer the money to my account it would take 1 to 2 days for the transfer to take place. After wasting 45 mins the vet stated that maybe they can take half as a down payment and will check with the owner. I stated great, I can give you half now and when the transfer takes place I will give them the remainder then. This dog is our family dog who has 2 little girls who love him dearly please let the owner know this. The vet came back and coldly stated, No the owner of St Paul wants the minimum now before surgary can be performed, we can help you find another vet who may be able to perfom the sugery but we are much less expensive, oh and he is in very dire straits, After wasting another 25 mins making calls with no vet close to be able to do the sugery I told her that they are our only hope. She again coldly said that they need payment first because we have sent many people to collection in the past. At this time my dog was basiclly falling in and out of consciousness and it was obvious that he was in pain and we wouldn't make it to another vet in time, I didn't want to give these people another penny but due to the agony that he was in we had him put down to end his pain. To put more salt in the wound it seemed that they wanted me to sign everything before they would do it. THIS didn't feel like a caring facility to me, . If you bring your pet here you are absolutely stupid in my opinion. Even in an emergency situation. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, if you love your pet, my opinion would be to stay away!!

This is the greatest vet in Milwaukee. The doctors, front desk girls and everyone else are wonderful. Always helpful, always kind and they all listen to your concerns and needs.

I first went to St. Paul's vet three years ago because they were the only place open on a Saturday. I had to bring my dog in because she had a leg injury. I told them I was limited on funds and they went above and beyond to accommodate my baby. They did everything that was urgent for the amount of money I had. Most vets don't care that much but St. Paul's did.

Since then I don't trust anyone else with my pets. I rave about them to everyone.

If you have a pet, bring them to St. Paul's vet. They are truly the best in Milwaukee. They care.

The vets at St.Paul always seem to go out of their way to make my dog comfortable--and that's the most important thing in the world to me. It's completely walk-in and is open later in to the day. The vets always give us a couple of options and never feel like they're pushing us to spend more money. I highly recommend Dr. Donahue--she's fantastic!

I had been taking my 14 mos. 5lbs. chihuahua to this clinic since I got her at 5 weeks old and I had nothing but good things to say about the service, competence, and compassion we received...but last Saturday I got an 11 week old, 10 oz. Chihuahua, yes, 10 ounces! He was very listless and only wanted to sleep and eat. The folks I bought him from said it's 'cause he's so tiny. He also had a lot of congestion and food would come out of his nose when he ate. I had no money coming for another 2 weeks and didn't think I should wait until then to go to the vet. I explained my situation to Miranda a receptionist at the clinic, she spoke to Dr. Wendy Sherer who agreed to examine my tiny baby and they trusted me to make the payments on my payday!! My little boy had pneumonia and worms. I'd already gotten rid of 16 fleas off of his tiny litttle body. If The Dr. hadn't seen him, he would have been dead by my payday. While we waited, Miranda and Holly, the receptionist, were so kind. They'd each had tiny teacup puppies and gave me some vital information on the care needed with them. I will ALWAYS be grateful for St. Pauls Vetinary clinic. They are willing to do everything they can to take excellent care of your pet. They gave me the antibiotics and de-wormer in order to save my puppies life. I will want to take my puppies there as long as I have them. They couldn't be any better if they tried!!

Although the hours are great and no appointment is needed, you may wait 2 hours and have only 5 minutes with the vet (at least I think it was the vet, there was no introduction). The vet was ready to get out of the room after a 3 minute exam of my scared yet compliant dog but due to my 3 questions she actually stayed a few more minutes. I realize they are busy but I am paying them to assess my dog for any problems. I do not feel confident, so instead if waiting another year for her exam I must take her somewhere else to feel like she is healthy.

From 2/2010 to 1/2012 I have taken my pet to this clinic for a total of almost $500.00; without a proper diagnosis, nor treatment, except one pain killer; I was led to believe their mis diagonsis, which resulted in the decline of my pet and near death; these are facts and witnesses are available to prove this. this last time I was treated w/disprect, abuse, threats as I ascerted myself that each time I needed a life or death service for this pet I was told amounts before they would even be administered! Putting money before ethics and life is not moral to say the least but this clinic has done this repeatedly! The pet has seizures continually due to thier influenced misdiagonisis of two years ago and complications combined. With all the blood draws their s/d have been a proper, accurate, diagnoisis to prolong the pet's life in a healthy manner!
I was sent a letter of abusive statements from this clinic that are considered slanderous, unfactual all because I stated 'they' put money before life, herego the hypocratic oath in this case is 'hypocrite'! Have taken this case further! Disgusting, cheap, and unethical. My pet sitters will agreee as witnesses as well as other friends who have endured my pet's near dimise as a result of the clinic's neglect to say the least!

Hands down the best vets in Milwaukee! I wouldn't take my pet babies anywhere else. They are always straightforward and very caring. All the staff members from the receptionist, to the techs, to the vets are friendly and warm. I recommend them to everyone who wants the best for their pets.

My 14-year-old cat, 4-year-old dog, and I have been going to see Dr. Thomas since the office opened and I cannot praise it enough. It is a special place, filled with people who really love animals. My dog, Annie, scratches at the door to get In, she loves seeing everyone so much. My cat has been undergoing acupuncture to help alleviate her arthritis, and it really has helped! She went from being an aggravated couch potato to a more outgoing, playful kitty. I have recommended Dr. Thomas and her practice to my friends, and I recommend them to you as well!

I have been taking my pets to St. Paul Vet for at least 6 years now. My Cairn Terrier was difficult, but they always took the time and care to make sure he looked and felt his best when he visited. He passed in September and the staff was very sympathetic. My Maltese, Ollie, has epilepsy, and they continue to take special care with him as well.

We have taken our pets here for years. It is on a walk in basis and there is never a long wait time. The staff is very friendly and treat you and your pet with respect. We always make friends with other people waiting to be seen and you can see just how indulged our pets are.

This place is amazing! I was first introduced to St. Paul vet clinic when I lived in Milwaukee a decade ago. When I moved to Chicago, I tried some of our local vets and found that they are either a) excellent but charge and arm and a leg for the most routine things, while recommending EVERYTHING they can think of in addition, making health care just about impossible in terms of affordability, or b) are affordable but so dirty I wouldn't even consider a nail trim there. So... since I've moved back I've gotten back in touch with our old vet. I've never waited more than 30 minutes, they take time to answer all my questions, do a thorough exam at no cost, and are completely professional. In my experience, their judgment has been excellent. They know when to send you home feeling relieved without excessive labs etc, but are also sure to advise you when action needs to be taken. I have had nothing but positive experiences here. Simply stated, they are absolutely amazing and my husband and I trust them completely. Both our dogs are happy and healthy thanks to St. Paul Veterinary Clinic.

They are the best!!! My 4 month old chihuahua was diagnosed with parvo this last Friday, given a 50/50 chance and that was with luck. Today is Sunday and guess what? She woke us up with wagging tail and love and kisses! They helped me when my own vet said she couldn't be treated. St. Paul vets educated me and provided me with everything I needed to give her supportive care at home, and helped me make it possible even though my financial situation couldn't provide much. They are highly recommended.

The first time I had to go the St Paul's I was a teenager with a dog shrieking in pain anytime I touched him. I called St Paul's about five minutes before they were about to close. The receptionist's husband came to pick us up, waited while he doctor made his diagnosis, and drove me back home.

I have had to put down three companion animals and everyone was amazingly compassionate. I had one dog neutered and one spayed within the last two years; one dog licked the incision site open, when I took him in there was no charge. They even clipped both dogs' nails!

I could go on and on. I do not know how they have the patience to deal with some of the animals' owners; I've seen people swear, ignore their animals' behavior - that could have led to injuries, even blatant harassment. As far as the comment about the signs; puppies should not be one floor because they don't have all their shots and could pick up a disease, I appreciate the heads up.

My dog Bentley was extremely sick and our regular vet told me we should put him down! I knew there was something that could be done seeing that he was only 7 years old...he was misdiagnosed several times (even with cancer). We took him to several vets and emergency hospitals. He was put on so many different meds...he lost his hair everywhere, licked himself raw (literally...bleeding) and had several other symptoms. After $3000 in medical tests we were exhausted emotionally and financially. Our last attempt was with the St. Paul Vet...No frills but the most valuable service! Dr. Jordy Waller was compassionate and very invested in her work. She went above and beyond what I "expected" from a vet. Knowing we couldn't afford her suggestion of taking Bentley to a specailist in Madison for additional tests, she researched by calling and talking to the doctors directly. She perscribed Bentley meds...and it was like a miracle, Bentley was better after 2 months of wrong diagnoses! Her care did not stop there! She called several times to "check-in" on Bentley!! What vet does that these days!? Not many. After all of what we went through, even if she didn't save my dog's life....I would still be greatful to her for the incredible service and compassion. Thank you Dr. Jordy. (On another note, after being at all these other vets, I could not believe how reasonable the prices were!)

Our family has used St. Paul vets for more than 25 years, bringing in our cats, dogs, and pet rats, who have each received excellent, humane, and compassionate attention from all who work there. I cannot tell how comforting they were when little Cinder passed on at age 15, and I believe that all of my friends have gotten the best possible care.

I have utilized St Paul Vet Clinic many times. I like that they have Saturday hours. You can't make an appointment, it is first come, first served. So get there before they open. Each time, we have been seen within 15-20 minutes.

I have utilized St Paul Vet Clinic many times. I like that they have Saturday hours. You can't make an appointment, it is first come, first served. So get there before they open. Each time, we have been seen within 15-20 minutes.

This clinic is open late for convenience. It's clear they really care about catering to people who can 't take off work, which is cool in my book

It's completely walk in and is open later in the day. The vets always give us a couple of options and never feel like they're pushing us to spend more money.

I took my cat here when he was peeing blood, and while I opted not to get the ultrasound to confirm his bladder stones--the vet performed one (free of charge) as he wanted to ensure that the $1000 surgery was necessary. I took my cat to a different Vet prior to this, and that same surgery( with all the unnecessary tests associated with it was going to cost me $4000.) They performed the surgery...and Mr. Malibu thought it was the cat's pajamas. He's all good and well and even likes the prescription food diet he is now on for life. I still go back there every few months to pick up cat food--and am always greeted with a smiling face!

I just got a new kitten and decided to take her to St. Paul Vet. It was walk in only but the wait time was no more than you would have to wait anywhere else with an appointment. Front desk was extremely friendly and I could tell that the staff were all loving pet owners themselves.

We came to St. Paul after our cat started losing some fur on his back. being strapped for cash we decided to try a place that is known for being more affordable than other vets. I am so glad we did and I'll definitely take my pets here in the future.

This is a good vet hospital. My puppy loves his visits to the vet now. He doesn't even mind the shots. They are gentle, organized and knowledgeable. They don't hurry you out the door at the end of your visit and they take a genuine interest in you and your pet's well being.

I haven't been here in years, but we just got a new puppy and I already knew where I would be taking him. I had dogs and cats and this is where they were going. Glad they are still doing great.\n
