What is with this place? I love and collect old vinyl, and I'm very used to digging through shops that would qualify to be on an episode of "Hoarders", but this place is a joke.
I paid a visit recently. You can barely walk around the piles of crap to get to the vinyl in the back. The old hippie owner looked at me like I was invading his personal space. Is this actually a store?
I asked him several questions about purchasing items, which were all answered with some variation of what I read as, "Get out". I brought in some vinyl that I was interested in turning into store credit only, not cash, to which I received a stern, "Don't want it, don't need it". After looking around, I silently agreed with him. The last thing he needs is more vinyl.
So I worked through a few piles of vinyl, and I almost wanted to cry. Stacks of vinyl on top of the bins of vinyl (ouch). Direct heat blowing on all of the vinyl (most sleeves were buckled, and vinyl I checked was warped). No price tags, unless it was more of a collectible, and most of those were way over priced. A hoarder's dream...a collector's nightmare.
I inquired about a tape measure to see if a dust cover for one of his unmarked Pioneer turntables ( I have a similar model at home that needs a cover), would measure up. He simply replied, "I'm not selling just the dust cover, no way". That's not what I asked....
So, with as callous of a 'Thank You' as I could muster, I left.
Old hippies are cool, but bitter old hippies are not. I don't expect bend-over-backwards customer service, but if this guy doesn't want people to actually come into his den of filth and spend money, just lock the door.

A small, totally over-packed used record store is what you will find at Flipville. Even though there are records piled up EVERYWHERE the cool, old hippie that runs the joint knows EXACTLY where everything is. It isn't orderly enough for browsing, but if you're looking for something specific, he's probably got it....and you should just ask.

Bullseye Records just around the corner is also worth searching out. Very well organized racks of records (and CDs) are better for browsing, but I wouldn't skip either shop. They're both great and compliment each other very nicely.

I bought a used turn table here a couple of weeks ago. A frined had suggested the place but didn't warn me of the toy collection inside. The owner has an amazing collection of vintage toys for sale, and yes I broke down and bought an old star wars action figure, but they collection really is impressive. They also carry used vinyl and used stereo and sound equipment.

PROS: high quality used vinyl and equipment, awesome vintage toys
CONS: parking!!!!

This store carries used records and used record players. They also sell old action figures, dolls and toys. All the products are in really good shape. If you are looking for a toy that you had as a child or that you've always wanted to find, but it is no longer made, be sure to check here, they may have what you are looking for. The store set up can be overwhelming so just take you time, there is a lot of stuff in there.

PROS: large selection, hard to find vintage dolls, toys and action figures
CONS: parking

I went to this store for the first time a few years ago and first off let me tell you, it isn't all about records. They also have a ton of vintage toys, comic books, and the like. It's a very small place and you're surrounded by "stuff" in every direction but they do have some pretty original toys and records.

PROS: Hard to find collectibles
CONS: Small and hard to navigate through
