We chose this company because they gave us the best estimate of time and were a local business. The owner himself, Rich. did the walk through and assured us that it would take about 6 hours easily start to finish. I had another larger company do a walk through who said the same, 6 hours but chose this company because they were a local business.

Well when the 3 movers came they were 1.5 hours late. They did call but said they had trouble with their truck.

They were still in the 2.5 bedroom ranch home at the 6 hour mark, and not yet finished. I called Rich to ask why it was taking so long and could he get his movers hustling. We argued about his estimate of time being wrong. And his answer was, I am only human and humans make mistakes. Well, as I told him, that is not a good estimate then and this will cost me more, therefore its not a good business practice. So I told Rich that he needed to compensate for his misjudgment in time that is now costing me more money. I suggested he send another mover or himself. He then said he had medical problems and could not help out. Then he wanted to argue who was more disabled him or me. Geez.He did send a 4th mover but agreed we would have to pay for that mover. Still they took an hour break, still delaying the completion of the move.

So I told the movers at the new house that I was ONLY going to pay for 2 more hours and they needed to hustle. They did hustle but I over heard them say, Just throw it all in the garage and leave it. I told them, No, you must move the stuff to the basement and 2nd floor as agreed. At this time my poor daughter started to move things along by helping out.

The worst part is the rudeness and arguing with the owner then his dad who used to own the business and one of the movers who wanted to use the bathroom, towel and paper toweling coming to move so unprepared. HE wanted to chat a bit, but I told him to return to working as I was not paying him to chat. He wanted to argue with me and told me that I would have to earn his respect first. He went on and on about how he could not handle conflict.

They misrepresented what they would do. My daughter's garage was piled up high with stuff not moved into the house. AND the swing set was not assembled, which was an extra charge. So I would not pay for that extra charge until it was completed. This went around and around for about another hour.

This is a poorly run business, with the owner, and one very rude mover. Undesirable business policy. I suspected they have had trouble in the past. They wanted to know right away if they were going to have trouble with me paying the bill..then later said, Is your check even going to be good. geez.

Do not choose them. RUN if you have any contact with them. The apologies were lacking and then not even given til the next day. They have poor work practices and insulted me for who had a worse disability. Yuck!!

We hired Quik Movers to move us on Sept. 10, 2009. They claimed they were an honest small business and they even gave us a deal up front. The day started out with them arriving over 2 hours late because someone put the wrong type of gas into their truck and they had to have it serviced to remove it. No phone call to let us know, we had to call them to see what was up. Then when they finally arrived at 11:15 ish , to move our 2 bedroom ranch home, they started out SLOW. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, and took more loads out to our car then I saw the three movers move. At around 12:00 they were already taking a "break" for lunch. One guy on their moving team was extremely sick. The other guy was telling us the whole family had MRSA--which put us at alarm and panic for the rest of the day. The terribly sick guy finally left at 5:00 to go to the emergency room for care. For the next hour and half, one of the movers was trying to get a hold of someone else to come up and help us move. He was on the phone non stop. My husband finally started to help and continued to help move until 10:00pm at night. Noone from their team ever showed up to help and replace the sick guy. At 10:00 pm, everything was still not moved out of our 2 bedroom ranch and from 5 - 10 at night everything was dumped into our garage. We were overcharged for a job they said would take 6 - 7 hours and ended up taking 11 hours with the job not even being done. WE PAID up front--knowing we would call this honest business and let them know our complaints. The lady who claimed they had an honest business said she would be happy to refund our money, and has been telling us this for the last month and a half, along with "the check is in the mail". I would never hire them or think of hiring them nor would I wish their service on my worst enemy. Needless to say, my husband couldn't walk for two days, our house was in turmoil for the next month, and no refund was ever sent to us.
