Been going to the Hammond for 34 years and never have had a bad meal or bad service even on very busy evenings.Golden Cadillac drinks are one of the best in the area.Prices and portions are great.\n

I have been here twice since Christmas because of $50 gift card I received. I will not be visiting again using my own money due to the following:\r\n\r\nPoor food quality\r\nAverage service\r\nPoor ambiance\r\n\r\nThe food ordered: Thin cut ribeye, steak sandwich, and queen cut prime rib.\r\n\r\nThe thin cut ribeye was really on the ""thin"" side. The taste and preparation was decent, but for the over $10 price I would have expected a little larger cut. The steak sandwich was chewy and lacking on the ""sandwich"" part. Unless you call one slice of burnt white bread a sandwich.\r\nThe queen cut prime rib was 45% edible meat and 55% FAT! \r\nDon't expect much with the cold fries, hash browns or non-existent vegetables either.\r\n \r\nThe Service was friendly enough, but I would think that one of the supposedly higher class restaurants in Superior that it would have a dress code for their waitresses. An un-tucked shirt with a pair of sweatpants does not make for a classy waitress.\r\n\r\nThe ambiance was poor due to the delivery method of your order...a rolling cart that doubles for one of the bus tray carts. There are two conveniently (for the workers) placed bus carts in the dining area, one which was approx. 3 feet behind my seat. The waitress takes the plate with the 55% fat and scrapes it into the garbage right behind our table. For us to further enjoy and of course the other patrons? What a system!\r\n\r\nThis place had its day back in the 70s! This place only survives on locals not expecting more for their money. Anybody that comes from the rest of the world please be warned.

I was quite surprised when we walked up the stairs to this restaurant. It was clean, the tables nicely set, and the food was good. We went there not expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised.

celebrating mothers 84th birthday. after 1 hour and 30 minute wait for food, several meals were poor. 2 lobsters were cold and raw in middle, my medium steak was well done and dry, the ribs tasted so bad my wife left them. the waitress's were pleasent and friendly.\r\npros-friendly staff\r\ncons-long wait, bad food

We were very disappointed with our visit to the Hammond Steak House. I have a heard the food is good but to be honest I don't even remember what my food tasted like. We had such horrible, rude service that I wanted to leave upon being seated. Also, I hated the smokey atmosphere. I have gotten spoiled with the wonderful smoke free restaurants in Duluth. I'll just stick to Duluth restaurants thanks! The attitude and the atmosphere ruined my dining experience there. I won't go back!

I have taste tested the Salmon at every restaurant, from here to the U.S. / Canadian border. The Hammond Steak House gets an A+ for their Salmon dish!\nMy hubby speaks volumes for their Steak, that's prepared ""exactly"" how you asked.

The Hammond House has the best prime rib around, you can cut it with a fork. We have always had excellent food there and it is reasonably priced for what you get.
