What a rip job. I should have known by the red marker on cardboard signs. You walk into a poorly lit 20' x 60' shed with mostly empty tanks. The tanks that had fish were not visible due the thick scum on every tank's glass. The open top tanks had dead fish floating in them and were also dirty. Their signs claim that they don't heat the building in winter because they don't want to use fossil fuels. I say they are just too cheap to heat or light the building. You would have a better experience in a pet shop.

Do Not Fish Here. My husband and I fished there for 15 minutes we caught 5 fish and paid 166.00 plus 13.00 registration fee. The place looks like a dump and the fish were not worth 166.00, you are better off going to walmart and getting an out of state fishing license and going to a lake. We feel very taken advantage of. Never fish here unless you have lots of money to blow. The grounds were very run down, it looked like someones back yard. The super jumbo pond is the pond we fished, it's a set up, if you have 200.00 dollars to blow, this would be the pond for you. Also they are getting over because they charge by the inch not the pound. They also charge .99 cents per fish to clean the fish. We fish lots of pay ponds and had never seen anything like this. Don't let the big pond with multiple species of fish fool you too, you will pay $34.00 per person to fish there plus you will have to pay for fish you catch. This place is very misleading. DO NOT FISH at Beaver Springs Fishing Park.

DO NOT GO HERE! They have very small backyard type ponds FULL of fish. All you do is drop your pole in and you have a fish you have to pay for - read their "NO Throw Back" policy - you will pay for every fish you pull out and be into them for over $100 in about 8 minutes flat. This is not a family fishing experience AT ALL! We were used, taken advantage of, and disgusted. Per the former review - the fishing park is indeed a very shady business and shame on anyone who promotes it on their behalf - including the WI dells coupon book. Go fish in the lake!

This is in response to Leanne J.s comment. I also have knowledge of this business as I am an employee here. Our horses are in excellent condition and are under the supervision of a vetrinarian. Brent cares very much about the well being of his animals. We have not had several horses die from lack of nutrition and medical care, we how ever have had horses pass away from old age. We have over the past year been subject to many random inspections on animal welfare which is common with a business like this. We recently had a city appointed vet, the police chief and the mayor of Wisconsin Dells out to see the horses. They were very happy with what they saw. The horses diet does not consist of moldy hay and bread and they are each fed grain every morning. The water that the horses drink has been tested and has been proven safe for the animals to drink. It is filtered in from a well. None of the horses have infections in their feet and they were all just trimmed again on Oct. 15th. We keep records on all medical issues with the horses and other animals that shows what has been done to take care of the issue. The main problem lies with the managment that has previously been in place here. Brent relies on his employees who work with the animals to let him know if anything is wrong or needs fixing. If there is he is more than willing to dish out the money to resolve the problem. The past management has not kept Brent informed on what was happening so he could not fix something he did not know about. Thankfully that issue has been resolved. Yes this is an older business and as with any business there are some things that need fixing. We are currently working on those issues. As for the fish here is a little bit about the food we use to feed them:
AQUAXCEL?: FISH

AQUAXCEL has specialized portfolios for:

? Warm water species like Tilapia

? Cold water species like Trout

? Marine species like Cobia

Benefits:

Survival

AQUAXCEL offers floating and sinkable extruded micro-particles beginning at 0.8mm and meal below 0.4mm. These particles are easy to consume, improving ingestion of key nutrients for growth and immune support, which is a critical benefit at early stages when animals are highly susceptible to suffer from stress and illnesses.

Growth

AQUAXCEL has a precise balance of nutrients to allow the organism to use more protein for muscle building and weight gain. Through the right formulation, the likelihood of reaching high growth rates increases.

Cost-benefit

Some nutrients like vitamins are very fragile and can lose some proportion of their value when exposed to the environment, light, humidity, etc. AQUAXCEL uses protection systems to increase resistance to adverse conditions and consequently reducing waste.

You can look up the product for yourself. I would also like to add that Leanne J. should not be talking about stuff she really does not know about. If she likes she can come in and view the records stating the adiquit care of all the animals.

Beaver Springs is a very shady business. The owner Brent Tollaksen, has underpaid employees, and skips any step he can in the care and well-being of his horses, fish, and animals as long as he can save a buck. As an insider of this business I have seen first hand! Lets start with the riding stable, he has several horses die a year from lack of nutrition and medical care, there diet consist of moldy hay, old bread also covered in mold, and water that has been filtered through the aquarium with tons of microorganisms that are not suitable for ingestion. Grain is not always offered, and they have no shelter out in there pasture which is not grazing land because it is swamp, most of the horses have infections in there feet, and dont have them trimmed when they should. The trails are filled with junk, old cars, run down trailer's, glass, garbage and hay twine that causes the horses to trip and get caught and spook. Than there's the petting area, also below the water table so very nasty and unkempt with too many animals in one pen. Than There's the aquarium, at 8 bucks a pop you can barely see the fish the tanks are so dirty, and the building is infested with rats and is very unkempt. Than you have the fishing park, where the fine print should be ( we charge whatever we want) per fish. They even have where you can have them cooked at a local restaurant, but all these trout are fed liver pellets which makes them very distasteful. Everything they offer is a flop and the money they make never goes to better the animals or the environment. They are being investigated from the many complaints of the horses well being, but if you don't believe it go see for yourself, but I would not want to ride on horses who had no medical care, and are deprived, nor would I pay to look at fish I cant see in a rat infested building, or would I pay to eat fish that cost more than it would for a family of four to go on vacation for a week. The place is really a dump in all means. Don't waste your money, go elsewhere, canyon creek riding stable, or B&H trout fishing!

Beaver Springs is a HUGE indoor public aquarium, although they have some outdoors as well. They have a large selection of fish to view, and you can even feed some of them. It's open year round and the prices are pretty reasonable. It also has a riding stable, so if fish isn't your thing, but horses are, you're in luck! Something to keep everyone in the family entertained. They offer packages too, if you'd like to experience both the aquariums and the trail rides.

PROS: Interesting aquarium displays
CONS:
