The WORST management company in Milwaukee. IF you can get someone on the phone, they are rude, pushy, and make you feel out of line for calling to ask a question. And beware - if you don't give them a 3 months heads up about moving out,

I have rented from Key Management for 28 years and I know you'll never find a better company to rent from than Key Management.

I have lived in a Key Management apartment for 27 years. They have been excellent. Respectful of privacy and that this was my home. They were preemptive in upkeep. The furnace was serviced annually, heating ducts where cleaned regularly, windows were washed on the outside several times a year, yard work was always done nicely, sidewalks were shoveled by 6-7:00 am after a snow fall, rarely a slippery ice patch, common areas were always clean Repairs were completely promptly. I was proud to say I lived in the building. The office staff was always polite.
I would recommend any rental that Key Managment has very highly. I have even told them they could use me for references.

Pros: Best rental managment company in town

Cons: none

I lived at the Sovereign for 1 year and I hated every second of it. The building manager and the management company are completely incompetent and try to screw you over at any opportunity they get. The building is dirty, and definitely NOT safe. A friend living in the building said a drunk homeless man got into the building and was trying to get into her apartment. There is very little security in and around the building - half the time the front door (which is supposed to be locked) is left open. The landlords are not helpful and are sometimes downright rude. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere, not just this particular building, but the management company as well. They are awful. The apartments look very charming since they have the old Milwaukee feel, but once you start living there, you'll realize that they are disgusting and VERY poorly maintained. Also, I don't think they clean or paint the units at all once the previous tenant moves out because the condition of the units upon move in (and not just mine) are a disgrace. Seriously - stay away.

I would ABSOLUTELY agree with the previous post. Carlos, the apartment manager, is horribly ineffective and a terrible communicater. I moved into my apartment with dirt on the ground, unscrubbed showers, and hair from the previous tenant all over the place. I talked to Carlos about it and he did nothing. I wrote the landlord a letter. He did nothing. As a general rule, if anything in your apartment ever breaks, don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon. I just barely got something fixed that I requested over 6 weeks ago.

The Good Things: It's really cheap (gas, water, heat, electricity all included for $475 a "enhanced studio" month for a 525sq/ft apartment). Very safe location in the Marquette area. The walls are thick so you can be loud and not worry.

Definitely would recommend for a college student. However, you'll have to be learn to be very patient when communicating with the incompetant landlords and building managers.

First of all, when I apply for to move in at sovereign apt, the manager Carlos told me that they will move out at 25th day of the month. I applied to move in on the first, but apparently the tenant still lives there until the 31st.
I really disappointed to know that a manager of a building told me a total lie. I would've picked another date to move in.
When I moved in, the apartment was still dirty and need some cleaning. I called the management and informed that Carlos (the manager) did not do a good job on Scheduling and cleaning. And all I got Kelly Ramirez raised her voice and told me that I'm the first person in 5 years tell that Carlos didn't do a good job. This isn't a good management to deal with.
Hope this helps

They have lots of properties to choose from. Some vintage and some newer. I've lived in 1 of their newer buildings and 2 of their vintage buildings. The vintage buildings have issues with boilers, electricity, etc from time to time, as all vintage buildings do, but the management company is extremely responsive and always sends someone to assess the situation and fix it asap.

As long as you pay your rent on time you can ask for pretty much anything and it will be probably be approved (they allowed me to paint my bedroom walls mint green and remove the living room carpet in one apt, and they allowed me to have my own portable washer and dryer in another).
