Ratings_icons Having the biggest shop in town doesn't mean anything

Bigger isn't always better. We all know that. It could have been that the owners of Body Ritual had much more money to invest than the owners at the smaller shops. Money and size has nothing to do with the skill of an individual. And since you're a professional piercer of many years, do tell me why that piercer pierced so deep that no other body jewelry could even fit it?

& Yes, I created another account just so that I can respond to you, Jake. What the piercer at Body Ritual did made me extremely upset. No... more than that. Pissed off. Also, you don't know how many people I know that got pierced at your shop and had problems with the teardrop ring & overall quality of the piercing. So stop being stuck in your egotistical world and realize that you fu*k up sometimes.

as a professional piercer for many years, the use of antibacterial soap works extremely well. i have used it on all my own piercings with nothing but success. the problem lies with peoples skin type and sensitivity to soaps. switch to saline solution if it is too harsh. as a piercer we have no way of predicting how your skin will react. as far as jewelery selection for the initial pierce, that is the correct jewelery. the navel is an extremely slow healing pierce to begin with, and you want to use a piece of jewelery you can rotate through the pierce to clean easier. a barbell only traps bacteria and makes cleaning difficult. a fancy, jewelled piece of jewelery is even worse to begin with since it only gives bacteria more crevices to hide in. the piercer was correct not to ask you what jewelery you wanted because you don't know what your talking about. body ritual has the biggest shop in town, and that should speak for itself.

I went there when i got my belly pierced. I'm 16 and I was joking around and was like "awww i hope it's gunna be cute..is the ring cute?" and he's like "no..it's actually really ugly"
i thought he was joking. no. he gave me the stupid teardrop thing and i'm like wtf...are you serious?
long story short, i got it done a couple months ago and it's STILL red and i've been washing it JUST LIKE HE TOLD ME TO!

Ratings_icons DO NOT GO THERE!

Jess T.

I just recently got my cartilage and navel pierced by this place for my 18th birthday. When I went there, I stood there for about 15 minutes waiting for someone to help. But there were other people, so I guess I can't blame them for that. HOWEVER, when I got my piercings done, the piercer didn't ask me what ring I wanted and what gauge to use. I don't know anything about piercing, so I just went along with it. The piercer gave me this weird upside down tear drop navel ring and said that it heals faster than the typical barbell. And of course, I'm naive as hell and so I believed him. He told me that when I clean my piercings, I should use antibacterial soap and turn the ring through my piercing to clean it. Which is WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! Anyways, I'll finish my story first. Anywhoo, my friend sees my piercings a week later. She takes a look at my navel ring and goes, "Wtf is that? You need to take that shiit out right now. You need a curved barbell for that." I didn't know jack crap about piercings, so I freaked out. She recommended me to go to Altered Evolution and get it checked out by them. And so long story short, I went there and the piercer there, Brandy, looked at it and said that the ring they put on my belly button does NOT heal faster and it's irritating my skin because it's a hoop and so it keeps on moving around and keeps on getting caught on my clothes & whatnot. She was like they should have just gave me a curved barbell instead. Anyways, THE PIERCER AT BODY RITUAL PIERCED ME TOO DEEP!!! The piercing was only supposed to be 3/8th of an inch, but instead he went HALF AN INCH! And so what happened? NO OTHER JEWELRY FITTED MY NAVEL! And so I had to take out that upside down teardrop ring. And now I'm letting my belly button heal for 2 weeks, and then I'm going to go back and get it done RIGHT by Brandy. ALSO, the piercer at Body Ritual told me how to clean the piercings WRONG. He told me to use antibacterial, BUT antibacterial soap is too strong for a newly pierced piercing (if that made any sense). And then turning your ring around in your piercing is just straight up NOT GOOD because if you do that, the skin cells will get damaged and you'll get a lump or something. I forgot the proper name for it.
So all in all, that piercer at Body Ritual DID NOT KNOW HIS STUFF! He lied to me saying that, that particular ring he gave me "heals faster". He told me how to clean it wrong. BUT the thing that pissed me off the most was that he pierced me TOO DEEP so that no other jewelry can fit my navel. Actually, ALL of that pissed me off. Seriously, whoever is reading this, DO NOT GO THERE. They're unskilled people who lack knowledge in the piercing field. I highly recommend Altered Evolution. They're a bit pricier, but it's worth it because they know what they're doing - unlike Body Ritual and Avant Garde (I heard bad things about them too). Seriously, don't go there.

I started there when i was 16 with my first "body hole". I have had about 4 more. The prices are very good lower than most in the area. my mother also got a cover up done there for 300 less than what other shops were pricing for here. Going back today to get my children's name on my back for only 60... Now thats a great price for 14 lettters.

Good body jewelry selection. Would reccomend for piercings but I've heard several complaints about the quality of their tattooing. Prices are higher than other comparable area parlors. My own impression/experiences have been that the staff is knowledgable and helpful but not very empathetic or patient.

PROS: Good jewelry selection
CONS: high prices

I had a tat and a piercing done here a few years ago. This place is clean and comfortable. They have alot of books and displays to spark your creativity and your artist will also draw something original for you. They also do piercings. The prices are reasonable and most importantly it's clean!!

PROS: clean tattoo and piercing parlor
CONS:
