we had a wonderful evening at nadia's. the food is fresh, delicious, creative. i understand that the owner, abdul bensaid, used to work in one of the queen of england's private restaurants. for sure. great service, wonderful food. it' not really that expensive, in our opinion. we'll eat there again, soon

Pros: everything

Cons: none

I'm not sure what has happened over the past year but this definitely didn't pack the punc* previous visitors or reviews had stated.

1) our waiter was fairly new, so we'll give him that, but you should be at least able to properly pronounce consumme, foi gras and tuna nicoise properly in a french restaurant. it's not consume, foy grass and tuna nickisse.
2) my meal (the tuna nicoise) wasn't thoughtfully propared, the carrots had long root ends dangling off the plate, the tuna was egh. the presentation was scattered.
3) the main reason we went was they used to have a great chocolate souffle. when we called ahead, they said they had it. but we grew concerned when halfway through our meal the chef left and our waiter hadn't asked for our dessert choice. well, a chocolate mousse with fruit played the role of a souffle.

Over all, the food seemed to be prepared in a hastily way, with our dishes coming out minutes apart. Considering there was one other table seated, this was purely inconsiderate. The flavors seemed muddled, my tuna was over cooked....and the over all impression was a ugh...we just paid this for this.

For $30/plate, there are better places in NYC for less and better places in Madison.

The place needs a wait staff training session and a steady chef or it's on life support.

Pros: it was empty

Cons: oh, so many...

The atmosphere is just like you were in down town New York. A little pricy, but the meal was outstanding, the service was fantastic. When you are looking for a high end experience, this is the place to go.

Our server was extremely courteous and helpful about menu choices, and was able to recommend wine to go with the dishes we ordered. The salads were fresh and the dressings were innovative and tasty. My entree- duck- was cooked perfectly, but topped with a sauce that my friends and I didn't find desirable. The same sauce also topped a lamb dish. The tuna was delicious, however. The restaurant ambience was great. It's a big space, but still an intimate setting. The general theme of the menu is southern French cuisine, but incorporates other flavors and dishes from other areas of the Mediterranean as well.

If I could afford it I would go back, but it's pricy- around $15 to $30 per plate.

Pros: Service, Salads, Desserts, Ambience, Diverse menu

Cons: Expensive, didn't enjoy my entree

Lobster bisque, it is below average and not recommended.
Country style house Pâté: average.
Seared Scallops with spinach, julienne root vegetables and a lobster beurre blanc: was good.
Sea bass I had was over cooked, not juicy at all. It is not recommended.
