Washington Commons

I personally think that the Port Plaza mall would have kept all the stores and the customers if the city of GB had not made the shoppers pay for parking. Why else would everyone go all the way across town to shop? With all that space and now with gas prices soaring...wouldn't it be great to have it open? If anyone who was growing up when that mall was built could see the sad shape it is in now I would think you would want to see it either rebuilt or reopened. Anyone with me??

Washington Commons used to be the main mall to shop at but in the past 10 years or so it has gone downhill. A lot of the stores are pulling out of there and going over to Bay Park Square in the newer part of town. There really isn't much there anymore that is worth driving into the downtown area for. Besides that you need to pay to park in the ramp whereas at Bay Park Square parking is free. In my opinion I would not waste my time going there and just go to the other side of town where everything is.
