Just finished the year with this studio. We won't be back. Many won't be back. The quality has dropped substantially while the prices rise steadily. The owners are driven by cash and what gets their kids the exposure they want. Prices

If your child is looking for being in a regular dance class to learn technique and perform in a recital, then expect nothing from this place. Unless your child is in their Troupe or Company Teams, then you as a customer are invisible. My

I have been dancing for almost 11 years and i have never been mad or sad about Accent On Dance! They always make you feel welcomed and they love to help when you ask. The only problem I had was this teacher, not saying her name, didn't like me because I was TOO FAT!! Well after a couple complaints and my friends complaining about her, she finally got fired and now lives with her parents! I will keep going to this studio and I might even try to work there when I am old enough!!!

Accent on dance is the only studio in the area that has a long history (30yrs), of being able to take a dancer from pre-school to high school, train them at the level that is right for them (be it recreational, pre professional or somewhere in between) and keep them happy and inspired throughout the whole experience. That value is priceless and yet they are right within the range of the other studios in the area - even lower than some! They get a lot of transfer students from other studios who have "outgrown" their old studio only to learn what they have been missing over the years! If you have a young dancer - start them off right!

I danced at AOD from age 4 to age 14. I used to love dancing, but they beat all of the joy I found in it out of me when I started in the company program. I will never subject my children to abuse such as I received at AOD. I wish I could give it no stars.

Great studio. Offers classes from 3 through any age adult. Has a number of competitive programs for the more serious dancer. Prices may be higher than some other studios but the quality of teaching is some of the best in the country - well worth the price. Friendly staff who cares about your child. Highly recommend.

I'm in 9th grade and have danced since i was 2. I danced at YMCA , and Dance Tracks. I switched over to AOD my 4th grade year. i started the Troupe compition program when i was in 7th grade. Since then i've moved up to the Company program that competes nationally. I love it there, its a second home. The teachers are like second mothers and the other dancers are my sisters. I'm so happy where i'm at. Our competition groups are amazing and have done so well over the years. It'll be sad leaving soon, but i'm sure to make the most of my time. If you want a GREAT group to dance with definently try to get involved with Troupe and or Company. It is definently a great place to start off as well. ROCK ON LADIESS... <3 mucho loveee...

Pros: confort and compition levels

Cons: ZERO

I go to Accent on Dance right now. I am an 8th grader and am in the company program, which competes nationally. AOD is the best place on earth. I couldn't live without it. They make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. They have 3 different programs that allow you to dance at many different levels. The developmental program has 9 levels and just allows the dancers to learn in a great atmosphere. There is no competing involved. Then, they have the troupe program which has 5 levels and allows a dancer to to compete regionally. The company program, which has 9 levels and allows a dancer to compete nationally. Dance Spirit magazine ranked Accent on Dance one of the top 50 studios in the nation to watch in their first issue ever. It is such a good studio. I would never trade my experience here for anything. They not only teach you how to dance, but great life lessons that help me daily. I would be nothing without Accent on Dance. It can be a bit pricy, but only if you make it that way. You can dance less hours a week and in a different program to make the price more reasonable. The people at Accent on Dance are amazing. They're all like sisters to me. I don't know what I would do if i didn't dance at Accent on Dance; but, i do know that i wouldn't be the dancer I am, or the person that I want to be. So, thank you AOD for making dance the best thing in my life.

Pros: Great studio that teaches more than just dance: it teaches the passion needed to get where you want to be in life

Cons: a bit expensive

I grew up going to Accent on Dance for 13 years. I would highly recommend this dance studio to anyone. When i was at the studio i was never in the most talented classes because I was placed appropriately in my own level of class. I never went to the big competitions and still really enjoyed my experience. I left Accent on Dance when I was 18yrs to go to college, where I continued dancing over the years-- today i am dancing in a popular show in Las Vegas and mean it when i say i owe all my dance training to Accent on Dance. I learned so many life skills and learned the love of dance. These days it seems like some people want dance class to be very friendly and fair and a positive social expereince. To me, dance class is a CLASS. You go to learn, improve, perform, and even be a little harsh in order to do your best. It is always nice when dance class is fun too, but when you enroll in dance class, it is exactly that-- training, practicing, learning and loving dance. This is what Accent on Dance did for me and even more.

I go to AOD. I might be switching soon but i suggest it. It is a pricy studio but, thats why the best dancers go there. At Accent On Dance the teachers want you to strive to be the best, and many of the students end up going on to get dance degrees. I love it at AOD they treat you like family and if your good its easy to fit in. The teachers are understanding and want the best for you. They also have 2 programs for competition... troope and comany. Comany goes to nationals and other competitions and troope only goes to one chicago competition. AOD is the type of studio where you always have to be at your best your you'll fall down to the bottom. You have to stand out to the teachers to accually get somewhere.

I do not like this studio very much, I danced here for a little while and found the dancing here is too suggestive. They are not very nice and wouldn't reccomend this studio to others. Very high priced also.
