Last time I was there, I would have given it at least two or three. They're known for the pie, and previously it was good. But this time, the pie was awful, and so was the service.
Basically, this is a really commercial operation. If you want some fancy looking stuff for double what it should cost, there's a lot to choose from.
The pie - when it's good, it is very good. Today, it was awful. Perhaps they have changed, I saw another review that said the pie used to be good, but wasn't anymore.
We ate lunch there, and had pie for dessert. Well first of all, we asked for glasses of water with our meal. We were told they don't give away their water. Okaaaay.
The pie wasn't really cooked through or something - it was really slimy inside, like the thickener for the apples wasn't cooked. The bottom crust was sort of uncooked and soggy, and the top crust was concrete. When we told the person who sold us the lunch, her response was "I don't bake the pies". Okaaaay.
The reuben sandwich was good, and the ham was very good.
But it really is kind of an unfriendly place, obviously really geared towards getting as much money out of you as possible. I probably wouldn't go back after this experience.

Although the prices are somewhat higher, the quality makes up for it. Everything is always as fresh as can be and I've never been there when there isn't samples of at least something out. Everyone working there is always helpful and willing to give many suggestions. An apple pie in a bag is always a winner for dessert!

An old barn converted into a farmers market was a neat idea. You like the place even before you walk into it! The store is just full of one wonderful treat after another starting with fresh produce from their own farm. It's all high quality, no seconds here!
I think the popular "apple pie in a bag"
and other bakery may be more popular then the produce.
You can find meat, cheese, jellies and gift items here too.

PROS: Fun to visit
CONS: This country charm has a price tag!

Elegant Farmer is a step into the country. they offer a great selection of homemade baked good (like their apple pie baked in a bag) and a large selection of locally grown products. their prices are a bit high - but well worth the "treat" once in a while

I liked the experience I had here. There aren't many places like this around before. This is a genuine farmers market where everything is a premium fresh and you can even pick your pumpkins here and go on hay rides!!

This place is nothig but memories for myself and many people. Every time I go there I hear people talking about their own memories. I had my first apple pie in a bag, I picked my first strawberry here, my first apple, green bean, etc.. Chilren and adults alikr all have fun here. it is a ride with lots of scenery no matter which way you come from. You can' miss the place. You come up to it and you will see a silo from a barn next to a building. You park in a dirt parking lot that is just part of the whole feeling you get there. Then you go through the silo to enter the building to shoppp in. fresh fruit and vegtables to buy or if the items you are loing for are inseason you can go pick them yourself (paid for by weight) on a nice day you go back in the store and make your own sunday at the sunday bar then go outside sit on a fence and eat it. look at the animals (smell them) get an apple pie in the bag(awesome) get all kinds of homemade pickels jam, mustard, etc...

PROS: lots of parking, you can do it your slef or pick it yourslef or just buy it
CONS: i always spend more than what I thought I would

Oh man!
I was first turned on to the apple pie in the bag from a promotion of the PBS auction.
This pie.. is so good!
And you can only get it here.
But don't let me interfere with your thoughts...they have ALL kinds of scrumptious goodies.
Fresh baked goods, pies, cakes, breads, rolls, cookies, pastries, the list goes on.
Fresh jams and jellies too!!

It's a nice drive out to the country for some fresh air and good fresh food.
Dont forget the milk!

When you walk into a store to purchase food, you never smell it as fresh as it gets here. Walk through this converted barn into a store and nearly anything and everything you buy will taste awesome. The company is most famous for the Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag -- you must try one. The pie tastes sooo incredibly sweet. You can purchase it buy the slice or whole pies. All food is pure and comes with a taste incredibly hard to explain. All of this coms at a price, however. Do not expect to find bargain deals -- EVER. However, you do get what you pay for...quality.

PROS: The FOOD! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
CONS: String Cheese, Prices
