I wish I had read the previous reviews before selecting this business for my vision care. I am extremely unhappy with the service I received at this location. I came as a new customer and received an eye exam for glasses, paid for by my insurance. I paid an additional $65 out of pocket for a contact lens exam, as they are what I prefer. After my trial pair of lenses came in I tested them, but they were very uncomfortable so I ordered a second pair from a different manufacturer. I tested the second pair and was happy with them so I set an appointment for the check up with the doctor. The day before that appointment I got a call from the office stating my appointment had been cancelled and that because of the time lapse I needed come in for a "refitting" that would cost an additional $65. This conversation was had by a very rude woman (Jessica), who prior to the end of the call hung up in my face. I went to the location in person to speak with her supervisor and to ask exactly what a refitting was and what, if anything could have changed within this 3 month lapse. The store manager (Nicole) was unable to tell me what a refitting was or how it differed from an eye exam. I also asked that if the refitting was carried out and there were no changes from the first exam to now, would I not be charged for the refitting and I was told "No". Here's my problem. Yes, Herslof is entitled to have whatever policy they please, however there were about four occasions ( 1) when I picked up the first pair of contacts 2) when I ordered the second pair of contacts 3) when I picked up the second pair of contacts 4) when I came into the office IN PERSON to make a check up appointment) where the staff at Herslof could have explained to me that there was a timeframe from the date I had the original exam to when I could order my contacts. This courtesy was not extended to me. After leaving the disappointing conversation with Nicole, I contacted her supervisor, (Paul Larson) who's only solace was that whatever form I signed when I first had my exam stated the time frame and it could be mailed to me. The fee would not be waived. My vision is very important to me and I feel as if I have been backed into a wall. The type of contact lens I require already costs $115 per eye for 6 months. Unless I pay this "refitting" fee I cannot proceed with my vision care. I am appalled and vow to never again use this 'business' for myself or my family.
