Don't rent from Dominion Properties. I currently, well, used to live at the Whitefish Bay apartment building they bought in February 2015. Management bought the building and began giving eviction notices less than one week later.

Please, if you are looking to find a pace called home do not let this company do the work for you! I urge you not to get involved with this company. After time rent sky rockets. Small spaces, damaged amenities that suck the money practically out of your account, crappy kitchens, creepy landlords that always want to be in your home. If you are missing parts of you living environment, such as windows, or an air conditioning system, don't hold your breath. You will be waiting a couple years. In the meantime you can probably remove the cover to the air conditioning and find out that not only does it not work, and cost you more money, but it may be that it's infested with wasps. This is the truth or I wouldn't write it.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dominion LLC. I lived at their North Ave building (at the very top near the water tower) and it was a hell of a deal! $900.00 for a 2 bedroom that is in short walking distance of Downer Ave, Brady St and the North Ave bar scene is a steal. That price includes heat in the winter and AC in the summer.

The few times I had problems with the apartment (plumbing problems, heat not working), the landlords were very prompt in their reponse. Eric the Apartment Manager was great too.

I would HIGHLY recommend this place.

I moved in to a Dominion apartment with high hopes. The guy I worked with, Chris, was a dooper, but whatever, the place looked okay (aside from the paint all over everything). Here's my story of why you'd be a moron for renting with them.

The air conditioner in my living room was leaking water all over. I told the building manager about it. Took them two weeks to come out to look at it. You could see how bad the patching was from when the last time they had this complaint (amateurs). They told me three different dates for when it's going to be fixed. Every time the excuse was that the vendor sent the "wrong item." Okay, so why don't you go to Home Depot yourself and pick it up?

For the rest of my lease, I had to deal with paint crumbling all over and a stupid reoccurring bill for "services."

Let's fast forward to the move out. My window faces the East, so it gets a considerable amount of sunlight. When I was cleaning my blinds, a couple of the brackets that hold up the blinds just shattered. Obviously because of the direct sunlight mixed with cheap blinds to begin with. Yea, they said I was responsible for it. They charged me $30 for two brackets that hold the blinds up.

Other fees they pass off on you is, replacing the light bulbs. Seriously? No other place in existence passes that off on renters. What a joke.

Then they also charged me $10 for the shower curtain (that looks like they picked up from Dollar General), which was perfectly still in perfect shape. They said, "Oh, we make each renter replace them every year." So no matter if I took care of it or not, I still get charged for it. Makes sense, right?

Now they also pass shampooing the carpeting off on the renters as well. That really makes sense, right?

So as you can tell, I did not have a good experience with these goofs at all. Am I being ridiculous writing this? NO! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SLEEZEBALLS

Pros: Very Nice, and Helpful

.

I have had a great experience with renting from Dominion. They were very nice, professional and helpful to me when I moved in and while I lived there. My apartment was great and by far the best one in my price range I had seen while apartment hunting. When I moved due to a relocation, the process went very smooth and they returned my deposit promptly. I would totally rent from this company again and recommend it for anyone seeking a nice quiet place to live with great management and customer service.

Pros: Great apartment - Excellent location

Cons: None

I would love to know how long the tenants giving favorable reviews have lived in a Dominion building. I would guess it's not long. I would agree that the building was quite nice and apartment manager was helpful. Yet the owners are AWFUL. In all my years and years of renting, I have never ever been treated like this. I never paid my rent even a day late within the two years I was there, I never caused them a single problem with noise or anything else - and all I have been treated with is disrespect, suspicion, and zero appreciation. Moving out is an ordeal - be prepared to pass the white glove test in every little corner of your apartment, including under the stove and fridge! They'll keep looking until they find something to dock from your deposit.
I would agree with one of the other reviewers who said that they've forgotten they are in the service industry. You will never be anything more than dollar signs to them - never a loyal customer worthy of good service, compromise, or even human understanding. Even after I left them a voicemail stating that I did not appreciate how I had been treated, they never bothered to respond. I have never worked for or patronized any other business that would even dream of IGNORING the complaints of a good customer.

This is a great apartment with newly sanded hardwood floors and a nice kitchen and bath. Everyone that I encountered beginning with the showings, lease signing, move in and since then has been extremely helpful and courteous. They really take care of their buildings and their tenants.

I wish I would have seen these reviews before moving in. It's still nice, in retrospect, to see that others have the same complaints that I do. My year lease is wrapping up and I'm getting the heck out of there. My complaints are the same as the other reviewers'...they want as much money out of you as they can get by doing as little work as possible. I caught them in at least three lies and a month after living in my place I found a big gap in the wall underneath the air conditioner stuffed with women's socks. The property manager tried to convince me it was insulation. I hadn't realized that Hanes Her Way does construction. The socks are still there. I've got my new place lined up and I'm ready to get gone.

I would have to agree with the others who had bad experiences. The apartments may appear nice at first, but just wait until you are there for a while and everything starts to crumble around you. You will not be taken seriously unless their is a raging fire in your apartment, or water is gushing from some faucet. I guess they don't realize that being a landlord is still considered the service industry. We pay them for a service and that is to keep our home in good shape. Lazy lazy landlords with attitude...not a good combo in my mind. stay away, stay far far away!
