I was surprised to see this joint on Insiderpages but I'm glad to see it rated good.

Have been going there (when in the area and need a good lunch/supper) for many years. I had one disappointing fish fry as it tasted and looked old. Besides that one fluke, it's been very satisfying!

The meat as they advertise is from local farmers and you can taste it too. The onion rings are huge, made from local onions and home made. They are a treat in themselves but share them, it's a huge order. The 1/2 lb burger is actually pretty darn good!! They have specials each day and they are huge and tasty! Real mashed potatoes, folks.... So good.

Bakery never lets me down here. Huge treats that could make anyone happy.

Yes, it's a "truck stop" place but you will find more regulars than truckers here. Yes, it gets very busy here during peak hours, especially Friday and Saturday.

Bottom line: If you want a good meal, with a large portion and not pay much at all, then you need to get here.

Cons--Waitstaff can be tricky, Seating can take a while
Pros--The food and location

For what it is--essentially a truck stop cafe--the Pine Cone restaurant provides tasty food and good service. It's a very popular local destination, and there's often a short wait to be seated during peak times.

Does Pine Cone provide a world class dining experience? No. It's your typical small town diner with a typical small town diner menu. But the food is good, the portions are generous (perhaps too generous if you're not into leftovers), and the bakery is...well, let's just say the baked goods at the Pine Cone aren't sized for average people. One eclair could feed 4, and one elephant ear could probably provide 6 people with a tasty nibble.

If you're looking for simple, homestyle dining, give the Pine Cone a try.

I hate fish, but I love this fish fry. Any time I get a chance to stop through, I do! The eclairs are the best ever, and the biggest. I would recommend this place to everybody!

This is a typical travel store on a highway. It is convenient but wasn't the cleanest. It is a roadside store after all. The service was fine. Nothing special.
