First off, the only reason I go there is because it's convenient- that's it. From the moment I walk into the store until I walk out the door, I can't wait to get out. I've never shopped at a store that makes it so difficult to get in. If you walk in the doors by the cash registers, you'll find that they have the entrance blocked. That means that you have to try and find an aisle to get through. If you walk in the doors by the produce section, you get to fight with every old woman who has to stop right inside the doors and rummage through her purse to find her shopping list. Really, the fool who designed this department should never be allowed to work again. Putting everything on diagonals makes it near impossible to get through there quickly. Once you finally do get in, you find an ever-decreasing variety of products, deli employees who don't give a hoot that you are there, cashiers who are either aloof, nasty, and/or don't have a clue as to what they are selling. I can't count the number of times the cashier has held up a bag of produce asking what it was. If I have to educate the employees, I should be paid to do it.

Oh, and the switch from the Pick n Save card to the Roundy's card- nothing more than a ploy to update information so they can increase their revenues when they sell information on you and your purchases to whomever will pay for it.

Based upon the decrease in merchandise available for sale in this store, I would bet that in two year's time, it won't be open anymore. Store management is clueless, corporate management has a penny wise and pound foolish attitude, and the employees are near worthless.

I'd rather shop in the Sendik's that is the old Groppi's grocery store. It's tiny, but at least you feel appreciated for shopping there.

I used to work at Pick N save about 6 years ago. From a current customer perspective I do not shop there anymore. Almost all of the stores are dirty, the shelves empty, prices are high (not completely PNS fault due to ethanol subsidies causing farmers to grow more corn than anything else therefore creating a shortage of other produce, but the economy is causing food prices to go up), and quite a few (not all of course) employees have an attitude. I do give some of the employees with bad attitudes credit though, they are treated like garbage by management. PNS does not value their employees, they see them as burdens rather than assets, so in a free market I choose to shop somewhere else. While Pick N Save climbed to the top of the WI grocery market after Kohl's and Jewel went down, they have no where to fall and they will eventually. Walmart is targeting many stores for renovation to make them super walmarts, Woodman's is growing, Piggly Wiggly has a lot of capital in their business as they are in other states other than WI, Sendiks continues to grow, even Target is expanding it's grocery section.

The last thing to comment on as to what some employees said about requiring to card everyone regardless of age, yes that is a PNS rule, but that is not Wisconsin law. Piggly Wiggly, Woodmans, Sendiks, Sentry, gas stations, liquor stores, and even Bars do not card everyone (been to all of the above and have not been carded). If management has told you it is law punishable by jail, they are lying to you. For one, your first time OWI (that is DUI) in WI is not even a crime, that is just an ordinance violation (assuming you don't get into an accident and hit someone). Even if not carding someone was a misdemeanor, I highly doubt that in Milwaukee County the DA would spend time prosecuting that. The courts are backed up as it is with homicides, foreclosures etc.

The pick n save store on 68th and National in West Allis is a joke..They have their own little group they cater to and the rest of the employees get treated like slaves..hence the reason so many employees call it pricks n slaves..Some get away with things that others would be fired for in a heartbeat if the supervisors played by the book..But since they don't?..The place just keeps going down hill..How do I know all this to be facts?..I work there..unfortunately..Sure I can just stop complaining and quit..but then who will pay my bills..Anyways..Wake up people..Pick and save sucks!!..Its not a clean store all around..The people in deli are rude as hell..Always will be until they hire ones that actually like people..Cashiers?..Well half of them are useless..And the CSR's?..What a joke!!..Hire some more lazy kids..You'll be closed in no time the way your running an establishment.

I also work at this pick n save. All I have to say is we try our best. We are not perfect. If you like woodmans better, great. Shop there. We are tired of the bitchy customers complaining woodmans is better. Then stop bothering us!
Also. It is not only policy but state law to card anyone and everyone for liquor and tobbacco. Get over it. We don't want to lose our job and/or face jail time. I am very respectful and kind to the customers but I am human. We have people all the time that treat me as less than human. They throw things at me. Hand me a bag of change to count. Curse at me. Scream at me. And treat me with no respect. The ones complaining here are those bitchy customers that do this. I can tell. You make our job hell! It's a grocery store... Don't make it such a big deal. I have had enough of whiney customers. We do our very best. Thank you to all our loyal and nice customers. :)

after reading the comments of the customer service person who wrote her opinion, obviously you would have been fired if your superiors had read that. Some of Pick and Save is good, but I really think that the Deli area needs a total make over of employees. If possible, get some people that would like to work. I have been there many times when 5 people are back there doing busy work, customer comes, they ignore them and make them feel like an interruption. Produce department must purposely put the spoiled piece of fruit or vegetable in the middle of the bag. Grocery department and dairy department don't have too many problems,

If Woodman's was closer, I would be over there for my regular shopping. Unfortunately, Pick n Save is everywhere and I don't have as much time to run. I am happy that Sendik's came in to the south side so I can go there for produce and I shop around a bit for meat.

After reading the earlier comments from the worker, I may just start taking the extra time to go where a person is appreciated for their business.

I shopped at this Pick N` Save since it was built. It is not perfect, but I have always received help when needed and a nice greeting when checking out.
The prices are good, the store is clean and I can find 95% of anything I have ever needed. I have gone to Woodman's, but usually for certain items that PnS does not carry. I also shop the Pig in Oak Creek, but most of my bucks are to Pick N Save.
The biggest problem I have is the Customer Service Counter, which there should be two like there was before remodeling. it is not the CSC that is the problem, but usually someone returning an item and whining about $.50. They waste the stores time and other customers time too.
However, I could never work there. I would choke the first person that threw their money down at the register as if it they are so much better being on that side of the checkout.
For these employees: register clerks, utility clerks, deli, etc, they work hard to to smile at every customer, even through the whining and griping and I praise they still maintain their diginity during difficult times. The store is very good, but the customers need to get a life!

Some of you customers had said some really horrible things to some of the employees. Please realize we are all human and the employees are really just trying to do their job. Be patient and think about what you are about to say first before you hurt someones feelings.

Okay, it's my fault for not showing my saver card but the clerk didn't ask to see it. She DID ask to see my driver's license for my beer purchase (I'm 60 years old and look it!)

So I spent a lot more money that I was not planning to.

I came home and cut up both my savers cards and will never go back to Pick and Save because I'm ticked off.

This Pick-n-Save is the nicest, cleanest & most friendly store. The produce section is ALWAYS clean & fresh. The bakery has a center section to watch the baker's decorate the cakes. Very nice store!

This is a really nice grocery store. It's fairly new, and they've done a lot to make it shine. There's a really nice deli area where you can get anything you want. This store is a little bit out of the way for us, but we like going every once in a while just because it's so nice. There's a lot of variety and a lot of specialty items as well.
