Being disabled it's tough for me to go to far in a day. The Princeton club features satellite clubs that are unmanned for the most part with 24 hour access, and a few large 24 hour "regular gyms"

The price, 50 dollars, seemed reasonable. I could play volleyball a few times a week at the big gyms, and go a few times a week to the satellites.

After a painful process of trying to negotiate a better rate, 49 a month it was. They don't offer any kind of help to anyone disadvantaged, and they screw you in case you need to move o something else comes up.

The primary problem I have with the gyms are the unfriendly staff, and the lack of staff greeting you. Over the years I've belonged to a 24 hour fitness, and a YMCA, and there is no price on un-noticed but nice it is when the check in staff makes you feel welcomed or becomes casual friends with you.

The other main problem I have is with the crap gym floors. I have played at the YMCA gyms at my former residence for 5 years and only saw one person get seriously hurt due to stepping on someone by accident coming down. Out here I have seen two people seriously get hurt so bad from the bad floors they needed Ambulances to come get them. This was just in two weeks of being there, mind you.Their floors are slippery, dangerous and their nets are TO low in the west side gym. This makes the game extremely dangerous as heavy hitters can basically overpower you and make the risk of injury on the floors higher.

Feeling unwelcome, dangerous floors and a lack of flexibility really make this club not worth the money or time. Looking back, I wish i would of paid the extra 10 going to Harbor or Praerie view. At least I was welcome, the environment was cleaner, and the gym floor (albeit not offering volleyball) was not a dangerous hazard.

This is the worst place i goes to. They have people sign the contract and won't let them cancel for any reason. even if you moved to different country or state. If you thinking just to live in madison for some time then don't sign up because they will get your money every month even when you get the account suspended. they said that you can use the time you pay for and use that in the future. WTF I moved for business how can i use this in future. many phone companies would just make you pay the the fee for earily termination. This is the Club just goes for profits.

You will NEVER EVER EVER get out of your contract no matter if you move clear across the country or get divorced. I was a member for 2 years and signed another contract after it expired because my place of employment was in close proximity. My husband and I ended up going through a bad divorce and he stiffed me with both of our memberships. Before this happened I pleaded for someone to speak with me about separating our payments since we were no longer together or if we could pay a fee to sell off our contract or even just his so I didn't get stiffed with the entire bill. Nobody would speak to me even when i went in and asked for a manager. This is still on my credit report since 2004 with all kinds of additional fee's tacked on. Any other gym I know of, Prairie Athletic, Golds, will let you sell your contract for a fee needed. So many things can happen in 2 years, I wonder what all of the Princeton club members that ended up in Iraq or moved for a new Job were treated the same way. This place is not worth it. Go elsewhere!!!

I'm very disappointed with my experience at Princeton Club. The facility is way overcrowded and often dirty, and the classes offered are boring and too easy. I'm very unhappy with my experience and how much I pay on a monthly basis. When I asked to get out of my contract they told me that there's no way to break the contract and that I'm required to fulfill it despite my unsatisfactory experience.

The club has a LOT of machines, they are typically in good working order and you rarely have to wait. That's the good part. The staff is all around unfriendly and could not care less. From the front desk to the trainers, it's very obvious they don't give a hoot about customers. The women's locker room is carpeted and smells strongly of mold (Of course it does ! people walking out of the showers and pool 24 hours a day onto carpeting .. Duh !). Could that be why all the other clubs in town have tile in their locker rooms ? The large exercise room that is used upstairs for all the classes is ALSO carpeted and I would not recommend you get your nose too close to IT (kind of hard to do when you're exercising so good luck). And finally, they do clean the machines fairly regularly and unfortunately, they choose to do this during busy times, so it's likely you will be inhaling chemical fumes from the very strong and smelly cleaning sprays they use. Same with vacuuming. Several times I started to cough while on the treadmill from the dusty vacuum exhaust, not a pleasant experience. Of course by the time I realized all of this, I was in a 12 month contract with no way out. Unfortunately, many of the clubs in Madison and elsewhere are focused more on signing people up than keeping people signed up.

I've been a member for about eight years. I've seen the cleaning crew wiping down and cleaning the machines, probably on a daily basis. It would be nice if all members wiped their machines off when they are done. Not all do!
It is true that most of the staff are unfriendly. Each time I renew my membership, the agent just whips out a new form fills it out and then I sign it. There is no friendly chit-chat during this time. The staff could certainly be friendlier.
I have noticed the owner of the club come in to the east side club. He never has a smile on his face. He likes to talk to the staff and occasionally lean on the railing above the large workout area and just stare at everyone, $$$$$$$ running through his head. I've even walked past him without a simple hello. Simply put, he's an unfriendly man.
The only thing keeping me from looking elsewhere is that I am locked-in at the price I paid eight years ago.

The Princeton club was very rude to me in front of a guest. Horrible. They also gave me a pass to give to friends or family that was supposed to be for 2 weeks. When we tried to use it we were told it was good for a day. More embarrassing for me than anything else. Their staff is kind of rude, especially some of the teachers and membership counselors. Body sculpt teacher is great...but not worth the rudeness.

The Princeton club is the most unfriendly gym I've ever been to. Shame on me for not shopping around, but rather choosing it based on location. The classes are uninspired, the managament is unresponsive, the contract is unrealistic, and you can hardly get smile out of anyone in sight. I'm looking forward to starting my new year at a new gym!

They don't give you prices over the phone, customer service is horrible, and you MUST sign a contract - no getting out for whatever reason! If you thought that was bad, try getting the management on the phone to even talk to you...it's impossible.

It's all about "them" and you feel it when you walk in. I felt unwelcomed and unappreciated my whole three years I was a member. I found a much better, more affordable, and close-to-home 24-hour facility after being treated horribly for too long.

This place is just for profit. Their slogan should be: We're committed to Profit. The locker rooms are nota ll that clean. If you leave messages for management they rarely call back. Don't try to contact them by email, you'll never get a response. They are not open to suggestions from members. I would never, ever renew!

I was a member for 6 years and I regret it now. When I first joined in 2002, it was a good value and close proximity, I loved it. One of the main things I used was the water aerobics classes and after the program was taken over by someone else it gradually deteriorated. The only reason I kept with it is because one of the instructors, Jayme, was awesome and she was recently let go for some unknown reason. As my membership expired, I refused to allow anymore of my money to go to that place. Staff overall is not friendly or responsive to complaints.

When the person in charge of the aquatics was approached of problems MANY times we got told to quit complaining and use other areas of the club. Completely UNACCEPTABLE in my book! Princeton Club has lost a member, and I know of others too, specifically because of that person. Not to mention they have very questionable tactics in the way they run their gym and its religious affiliations. Closing the gym area to hold prayer services, etc.

I have joined another gym that does value it's customers. More money yes but very much worth it! I do not recommend joining the Princeton Club if you want to be treated with respect.

This place run by profit driven, greedy, and heartless people. They only see their members and employees below upper management as dollar signs. They will do what ever it takes to squeeze every last cent of profit they can and fill their own pockets. The facility is large, but empty. They say they are Christians, but that is a far cry from reality. There are plenty of other clubs in Madison that would be a better choice for your patronage.

I have been a member for several months and have had reason to contact management more than once. Equipment availability is a major concern. Yes, there is plenty of equipment for the young and fit but not nearly enough for those of us who are older or less fit. There are a large number of us and we are affluent enough to be valued members.

Management is generally non-responsive to the point of being flippant. They are missing a real opportunity to increase their business beyond the normal before and after work crowd as a result.

Much of the equipment is older and in need of thorough cleaning. If this is "the best in Madison", I'd hate to see the runner up.

The original princeton club doesn't quite match up with the new and improved version out on the west side of town, but it's still a more than decent gym. The equipment is well-kept, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, and is generally a good place to work out. Unfortunately, unless you live way out on the east side of town, the location is kind of out-of-the-way, though, and the membership fee is a little on the expensive side.

This health club is huge! The facility has a main cardio section with treadmills, elliptical trainers, etc. (each machine has it's own flat-screen television with cable), a huge selection of weight machines, gyms, a pool, etc, etc. I was very impressed by the size and quality of the equipment. The aerobics classes are also very up-to-date and were really challenging for me. The only thing that bothers me about this place (besides the substantial membership fee) is that people seem kind of unfriendly. The staff is great, but the feeling of community is just not there. If you're interested in joining this club, I recommend taking advantage of the one week free trial membership they offer...then you can see how you like it.
