This is in response to an experience that my husband & I had the Bed Bath & Beyond Grand Chute, WI store. We were so frustrated that we refuse to go back to any locations & have decided to complete our place settings directly through Mikasa.

We registered for our wedding at Bed Bath & Beyond, resulting in thousands of dollars in registry gifts. We went into the Grand Chute store to buy a $200 knife set that we wanted. We asked an employee to open the display case and he asked us several times, "Well, what knife set are you interested in?" After saying which one we thought we wanted out of the 4 displayed, we explained that we just wanted to experience the performance of the knife instead of blindly buying once since we were paying so much for it. Finally he opens the display case and my husband holds the knife in his hand. As is natural when testing a knife, he gently used his thumb to feel the edge of the knife.

"No, no, no, sir!" the employee yelled at us as he yanked the knife from him like he was a misbehaving toddler. "If you are going to keep doing that, I'm putting the knife back in the case!"

"Forget it," he said and we walked away in disbelief.

After all we had invested in the store we were treated like criminals. We left and swore never to go back again. In no way did we do anything unrealistic or that any customer would have done. The employee??s actions were completely ridiculous and forever ruined our experience at the store. We don't want another dime of our money to go towards supporting that employee or the store.

Beyond the awful experience, the store is stuffed with way too much merchandise, resulting in a stressful experience at best. Do yourself a favor and buy locally, or buy online. A third of the place setting shipped to us have been broken. Nothing has been without jumping through hoops.

Full of fresh linens, candles, bath and kitchen products, this store always smells good. The people are friendly and you can use the 20% off coupons that you get in the mail to get some pretty amazing prices on things such as lawn furniture, futon covers, cookware, or bath towels.
