Warning! This is not a kid friendly place! Lots of sexual jokes and sexual undertones in every single performance or entertainment act. The female employee costumes were just as bad as Tilted Kilt & Twin Peaks restaurant. Their breasts were barely covered and in your face at all times. Pretty much only their nipples were covered. I was shocked, because this place advertises to families. I refused to buy anything from a female employee that had her breasts hanging out. It is degrading to women and I refuse to support a business that promotes this.

In addition to have an atmosphere that was close to a "strip club" with the costumes, the convenience and organization was very poor. It was extremely difficult to find bathrooms. When you ordered food you had to wait in two separate long lines. The first line was to get your food. Then you had to wait in another long line to get your drink. It was extremely hard balancing your food in your hands. Then you had to cross your fingers and hope to find a place to sit down and eat. There was not enough tables to sit at. People were sitting on the ground and eating.

We didn't enjoy it at all. I have two daughters. One is 20 and the other is 17 years old and they couldn't believe what the female employees were forced to wear. I guess men would like it since their costumes were very revealing.

We also didn't like to see the dead animal fur being sold at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They were selling fur from foxes, rabbits, coyotes, and bob cats. We are animal lovers and this was very sad to see.

We will definitely not be coming back to this place. Oh yeah, it is extremely expensive too. What a waste of time and money.

While the actual workers were, and always have been, great, the admin staff suck rotten eggs! I called them during business hours, over two weeks ago, asked to speak to someone who could help me with a project. Have been ignored, not for the first time. It not being a first time, I emailed them. I was a little upset. Their answer is arrogant and rude. i apologize if mine is...
Dear Ms. Byrd:

Thank you for your precise, concise, and judgemental followup to your phone call----which was not received by our office. I handle ALL the requests for backstage media, research etc.
We pride ourselves in answering all phone calls within 24 hours, and emails faster. We did loose power on a Sunday evening for about 3 hours due to an accident which took out a transmitter in the local area. We may have lost some voice mail during this outage, as our phones require power. Be that as it may, I'm very sorry that your call went unreceived.

We do not allow anyone backstage, for any reason, at any of our Renaissance Faires. We spend countless hours and millions of dollars working to create the magic that brings our guests magic, fantasy and enjoyment. As a result, "we are unable to accommodate your request."

If I may be so bold, in the future, perhaps you might consider a polite follow-up call or email when asking for a favor. One never knows what extending circumstances may transpire in today's world of digital communications that may interrupt the delivery of the message.

Hi! I contacted you about two weeks ago regarding an interest in getting an idea of what the Renaissance Fair is like behind the scenes. I left a voice mail explaining that I am a writer and I was doing a little research. I did not, and do not, expect any "freebies" or some such. A simple phone conversation, or a quick tour while I was visiting as a "paid" CUSTOMER would have been EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. As it is, I NEVER RECEIVED so much as a phone call in response, even to DECLINE what I requested. I realized that you are busy, but common courtesy must not be so common at your administration headquarters. I find that very sad and disturbing as I have BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. I sincerely regret the lack of Customer Service on your part. A simple, "I'm so sorry, but we are unable to acommodate your request" would have been understood, but your RUDENESS in ignoring my request is, obviously, met with ill-will.

Regretfully Sincere,

This place sucks!!! We paid a mint to get in and the major thing to do was shop at inflated prices. The food has gotten worse and worse over the years and has now gotten to swill. For what I spent on this crap i could have taken the family to a steakhouse. If you go get your hand stamped and have lunch at the truck stop. Crappy acts that then stuck a basket in your face for money. Do they not pay any one? We will not go back!!!!

I went to Bristol ren fair 2 times in the past. And i will travel from Michigan to Bristol again to join in the fun. There are fun packs available afor lower ticket prices plus the give you a t shirt and other items. But if you want to take a trip to the middle ages this is the place!! The entertainment is outstanding from comedy stages that will leave you smiling . To the music that will take you back to those days. The aroma of the food and the incense will tantalize your senses. Jousting, sword fighting and a cast of characters that are soo great. The costumes and the art are wonderful. A place where you can eat soup in a bread bowl ( YOU GET TO EAT THE BOWL ehhe) Or bite down into a tender smoked turkey leg all the food is delicious. There is food from every culture and stuff ive never even tried before. Tons of shops that you can walk in and experience. Ive beeen to many ren Fairs and this is my favorite. Also Elephant rides and other rides and activity for kids and Adults alike. Archery, axe throwing, knife throwing, etc. A lot of stuff for the Lady's as well. There is something for everyone. When you walk in its like walking to the entrance to a courtyard to a castle!! Its hard to put into words how fun this is!! OH and for the adults there is many different Mead's and beers also wines. They have themed weekends for Irish, chocolate, wine tasting. and much more i will leave the link to The site on here Please check it out it defiantly ids worth the trip and your family will never forget it 8) http://www.renfair.com/bristol/

My wife and I took our two daughters and my mom last year, and we're going again this year. There are online 2 for 1 coupons to help out for cost. The food is great, a bit pricey like any fair or amusement park (but much better quality). You can pack a cooler and go back to your car to eat, and re-enter after lunch to save that money. The many trees help for shade, and we truly love it. The jousts are the highlights, but what makes this unique is that there is so much entertainment and performances. I disagree that this is expensive ($16 per adult tix, see coupons above). I frequent Brewers games, and it's not easy getting a family of four in there cheap without sitting in nosebleed seats! And I'll take the Ren Faire food over ballpark food any day!

My daughters and I attended the Faire for the second year. If you use an entertainment book coupon, admission is a good value. The shows are entertaining (some have a Monty Python type humor) but jousting is the highlight. I would recommend spending the whole day there. Food is good although expensive. No carry-ins allowed.

I'm the writer for a blog for Visit Milwaukee where I go to events or participate in unique activities and write about them. This is to hopefully encourage visitors to come to Brew City or locals to get out and discover what their city has to offer!

Anyway, I wrote an extensive recap on my time at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.

Here's the link: http://playinthecity.blogs.com/milwaukee_outdoors_erins_/2007/08/ren-faire-party.html

Check it out and say hi!

Have been going to Renn. Faire for several years and have always enjoyed myself. The sights, sounds, smells just make you feel like you are in a different time and place. The costumes are really something to see , the acts are enjoyable ( if you go a lot the acts are repetitave but still good) the music I think is my favorite. The food is always good and after walking around for a while the various smells make you hungry. The jousting show is the same yet they always seem to put a little different spin on it so it is always fun. They do bring in new acts from time to time. If you like to shop ,this too is your place, they have jewelry , plants, costumes , soaps, perffume,etc.,etc.
Just watching the people both characters and Faire goers is worth the price of admission. The damsels are never in distress !

PROS: Fun time a good way to escape reality for a while (legally)
CONS: Season too short !

The Bristol Rennaisance Faire is so much fun for the whole family. Every summer they come to Kenosha Wisconsin (on the weekends) and they turn back time to the Rennaisance ara. men and women (and children) walk around all dressed in costume and you can get food and souveniers from the time period. Things as unique as a melted metal necklace. There are also jousting shows and jesters to entertain. The giant pickles are delicious!

I heard about the Bristol Renaissance Faire from some friends, and they convinced me to try it out. I have to say that it was not for me, but it looked like most of the other people there were having fun. Give it a shot, it might be for you. I won't go again, though.

This is a very big step back in time. the workers are all dressed up and act like they arre living in the midevil days. It's okay to come her once every couple of years and I do not believe that this is for everyone.

Take a trip back in time to 17th Century England. See Lords and Ladies wearing authentic costume in the Streets of Bristol as they await the arrival of Queen Elizabeth 1 and her court.
You can see jousting and games of skill. As you rest for a few moments you can watch some of the funniest skits and performances (Moonie and Broon). BRF
also has many talented muscians
Be sure to try some of the many delicious food choices, especialy the mushrooms.
BRF performers are not only very talented but they
take pride in offering a wonderfuls day entertainment to their guests.

PROS: Huzzah! Another time another place.
CONS: NO place to cool off!

Who knew you could journey back in time a little over an hour outside of Chicago? It is time to set off on a quest, back in time to the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Drink mead, eat a turkey leg, get a picture of yourself in the stockade and be sure to meet the many interesting characters walking around in period dress. Don't miss "The Swordsmen--Dirk and Guido" my favorite show.

PROS: Great family fun!
CONS: Only open in the summer, check website for dates.

Come here and imagine you step back into midieval times. The staff are all dressed from the period, talking like the people might have talked and performing tasks of daily life. Great fun, not too far from Chicago (or Milwaukee)
